Network Vision/LTE - Puerto Rico/Virgin Islands Market
gustavo_pr replied to Gab2012's topic in Markets
Close to Garden Hill, Guaynabo. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk -
Good to know Sprint is onboard. Hopefully more OEM's jump the direct-sales bandwagon with quality multiband unlocked devices. Win-win. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

This: http://www.s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/6681-WIN-A-2014-MOTO-X2!!!--Motorola-X2-Activation-Help-Fund-Us-Contest This happened last year. They were unsuccessful in activating it with Sprint. Apparently worked great on Republic Wireless using Sprint's network, including band 26 and 41. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

If the Moto Play is a worldwide phone (except the US), why then file with the FCC? Nevertheless, it was hinted that the Moto Play might be released in the US later in the year, although it might be thru a carrier (Verizon rebranded maybe?) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

They still included Sprint's bands and network compatability, although last year version had them but wasn't able to activate with Sprint. (Wireless Republic version).

http://www.androidguys.com/2015/07/28/what-is-the-moto-x-pure-edition/ "This means that Motorola’s newest flagship will not be available in carrier stores, only on motorola.com, amazon.com, and bestbuy.com. The only brick-and-mortar store the Moto X Pure Edition will be available in is Best Buy stores. Furthermore, the Moto X Pure Edition can be used on any carrier. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, or any other carrier that sells SIM cards can be used with this phone." We now know the Pure Edition supports Sprint's Network by the revised spec sheet, but why not mention the carrier by name?

At the end of the article states: "Will Motorola’s new approach work? It’s hard to say. Motorola made it clear after the event ended that it still has more devices left to announce this year, and it’s unclear if those devices whether or not those devices will launch with carrier partnerships." Hopefully, they announce something around the time the new Nexus 2015 arrives.

As stated in the launch event, the Play version will be available only outside the US. No Sprint. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

True. Thanks for clarifying. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

No band 26, not for Sprint Spark then. Does those bands in the spec sheet coincide with the FCC docs? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Definitely I like the idea of a Moto X option on Sprint this year. Waiting for an official confirmation though from Sprint that they will carry it, or at least allow it on their network. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

If the Play doesn't even make it to Sprint then it would not matter much. Did they announce the price for either one?

Really like more the Moto X Play, but I wouldn't hold my breath to find it working for Sprint. Too bad, the Moto X Style 5.7 its a bit too much.

Network Vision/LTE - Puerto Rico/Virgin Islands Market

This was posted by a Sprint's Puerto Rico employee a couple of weeks ago. I bet it's Spark related. Will do some site hunting. There is something brewing. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk -
http://arc.applause.com/2015/03/06/moto-x-will-survive-now-owned-lenovo/ Related article about the Moto X with Levono. I agree with the wait and see. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait.

Was looking forward to a Motorola Nexus 5 in the absence of the Moto X on Sprint (which hopefully Sprint changes its mind on having the 2015 version within its lineup). I like what I see from Huawei. Don't mind it at all. Will like to see how its SoC matches Qualcomm's later on the year.
-
Eager to hear if you're successful with Sprint. Good luck.
-
Are you going to try activating it on Sprint or will use it on Republic?

http://www.androidauthority.com/republic-wireless-discount-moto-x-573259/ FYI $349 for 24 hrs. Read the part about the phone working only on Republic network.

My Nexus 5 is stuck on "Turning WiFi on". Factory reset, clean install, different ROM and kernel. Nothing. Nada. As it happens, the warranty expired a month ago. Bought it online in the Sprint Store. Called them and told me to go to a store to have them check it out. (Will take it during the week). Call LG and told me to mail it to them and once they have it inspected call me with an estimate. Researched online solutions to this issue and most got RMA and a new device. Has anyone got RMA after warranty expired? Has anyone had this problem and solved it? Suggestions welcome.

Everything is off. There is a thread in XDA regarding this issue. Apparently plenty of Nexus 5 owners are experiencing the same issue. http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/battery-drain-t2939701

Turned location off and Wi-Fi off and Wi-Fi still appears as active in the battery data.

Just noticed that even though I have Wi-Fi off, in the battery data it appears on. Can someone confirm that if you have Wi-Fi off it wouldn't appear on the battery data?
