Network Vision/LTE - Puerto Rico/Virgin Islands Market

Not every place is completely covered. They got 80% in the metro area and stopped. There are some big pockets in their lte coverage that are surprising.

It's not that they are waiting, it's that these last few sites are backhaul constrained. The last few sites in a market are usually the ones thy take the longest to complete, that is why they are last.

Yeah, I was thinking st. croix would probably get it first as well, but like Robert said please run sensorly and run a speed test or two.

So wait a minute, all this is because of some persons facebook post?  The way you went on, I was thinking you were in St. Croix yourself experiencing it first hand.  Anyway I hope its true, please post a screenshot if you can.  I hope other St. Croix members can give us an update on whats really going on.

I am not doubting you and I am not doubting what they may have told you.  All I am saying is that when making those kinds of posts an actual screenshot speaks a thousand time more than what he/she may have said and I am sure you know that.

With all the jabber previously I was skeptical. Once I see some screens or, better yet, experience it myself I will be a believer...

Not so great 3G speeds to night.

I really hope that they have an appropriate backhaul strategy in place before 4G is rolled out territory wide.

It would be interesting to know where the bottleneck is that is causing the slow speeds.

    • You may be right, and by no means am I saying I'd be happy paying more.  I just meant to express that in the big picture right now, and in my case scenario - the impact is negligible really...both (a) compared to my expectations going in but even far moreso (b) the comparative scale against a *slew* of other things where I'm having to pay far more than I used to, which really even was more of a catalyst behind what I posted than I stated upfront.  Some angles of inflation are just insane frankly, and $2-5 a line just isn't remotely near what I'd call a poster child example currently.  I still never received any text all that said btw...maybe the increases (***for now) only impacted native T-Mo older plans perhaps? 🤔
    • I forgot to mention, the 6.1 update kinda fixed one annoying bug for those of us who band lock. There has been a bug where when locked to NR-SA, if the phone overheats something will crash, you will lose signal and you can't change to any other bands without a restart. The loss of signal still occurs but now you can move back to LTE without restarting.
    • May security update is out for TMO S22U
