Not sure. I used to think they were Clear but the panels seem a tad long and too rounded to be the Huawei dual mode gear, and there are no RRU's. Not to mention Sprint has their 8T8R equipment up. The only other provider I know of in this area beside the obvious is Towerstream, and I have no idea what their equipment looks like.

I'm in Detroit metro and I see these panels - below the rack - here too. There's only a few clear protection sites so definitely not clear. Forgot about tower stream. Hmmm.

There's a tower near me with the same panels and configuration.  I'm going to check it out this weekend.

 

The tower near me doesn't match up well with the coverage shown on Towerstream's coverage map.  It's definitely not the Big 4 and not Metro PCS and Time Warner's Wi-Fi system is street level.

Not sure if this before/after of a site that used to have similar equipment narrows down the possibilities.  Note that the mystery carrier has been removed.  (My labeling might be grossly incorrect, apologies in advance.)

According to this article, San Bernardino County has been granted an extension for the 800 MHz rebanding until August 21, 2015.

Hmmm, I wonder how long it will take to fire up the new Band 26 antennas once San Bernardino County vacates. Is it possible to have the antennas installed prior the rebanding and then flip the switch or do network crews test and optimize the signal while they're at the site?

It'll be very fast. Sprint already has capable antennas deployed and they're currently installing 800MHz RRUs so that everything will be in place once San Bernardino is finished vacating. Optimization will take much longer than firing up 800MHz.

Are the RRUs the same as the ones they use for 800 MHz Voice or is it completely different equipment?

800MHz voice/LTE is all one RRU, so those areas with 800MHz CDMA need no further tower hardware work.

Definitely looks like MetroPCS 3-panel deployment on the lowest rack which was upgrade with T-Mobile AIR equipment. Are you sure that's T-mobile on the before image?

I'm not sure. The "before" image is from Google.

 

Here's why I thought it might be TMO:

1. Looks like other TMO sites.

2. One equipment shed still says "Cingular".

3. I've never seen an AT&T macro site with only 2 panels per sector in LA.

Has anyone seen any 800 MHz RRUs being put up in the NV sites in the LA/OC county from the SB County restriction zone in anticipation of quick fire up once the rebanding is finished in August?  I have been trying to keep an eye on NV sites that currently just have 1900 MHz RRUs but I haven't seen it yet.  I hope Sprint is going to start deploying crews to put up the 800 MHz RRUs on the NV sites that are in the SB country restriction zone.
