Found a site broadcasting b26 and both b25 carriers in Glen Ellyn. Seems to be the water tower site.

I've seen the second carrier quite frequently, but not the B26, I guess I'll pay more attention to signal check and dump the log again to double check

 

Well now that i paid more attention, yes I see B26 popping up every now and then here in metro chicago area, but a bit different than compared to when i was in austin texas where I was almost exclusively on B26, the rest of the time I'm more llkely to be on B41.

 

In Chicago, I'm still mostly on B25 (original or USCC channel), only occasionaly do I see B26, and B41 services are still spotty in area I frequents

They've made a big B26 push in the last month or so. Glance says all my major towers got an upgrade about two weeks ago. Looking forward to the gap coverage!

I think the news said over a million people were there. It's doubtful any cellular network was functioning during the parade.

I love to see people's reaction to the Test Drive promotion. A fairly large number of people I've seen online said that when they were on 4G it was fast, but they lose it too easily, or they're on 2G way to much for their liking. This is probably wrong for me to say but, I was kinda glad people were taking shots at T-Mobile's network for once. T-Mobile loves to act like their network is so perfect but in reality it has more weak point than others.

It's AWS spectrum LTE, It might have a wider pipe, I believe its 10x10 in Chicago, so speeds should be great, even during peak times, but its signal propagation characteristics are probably quite similar to the B25 we have now.  I'm sure LTE drops off just as much if not more than our B25 in the same profiles; basements, building interiors, parking garages, elevators, subway stations, old crappy brick/cinder buildings.

T-Mobile does have a lot better spacing in some parts of Chicago though. The University of Chicago campus and most of Hyde Park is an absolute deadzone for LTE (and 3G sometimes too, hopefully it will get better with optimized B26) but T-Mobile has smaller sites on campus and in the area.

There's one thing that agitates me about all this... Sprint is still 4th in the latest RootMetrics measurements in Chicago for call reliability.

I throw my hands up at this. I thought CDMA 1X Advanced would have jetted Sprint to the top of the metrics here. It hasn't.
