Which Airave? The 3g one or 1X one? Been rocking my 1x one for almost 4 yrs and I have really forgotten about it since it works so well. I see the blue lights in my network closet every once in a while though.

Anyone else having issues with texts going thru on airave's with evo lte?

Yes I had this problem and I eventually found the answer! Turn OFF, or put on Airplane mode, your old phone and the texting issues go away! I had my new EVO LTE for a day when I realized when I was at home I was not getting any messages all day!? Then I did testing trying to figure out what was wrong. Finally I turned off my old OG EVO, which is what I used before, and immediately I received 20+ messages, some of which were from early in the morning and it was already 12 plus hours from then! I turned my OG EVO back on again and tested some messages to friends and no go. So, at least in my house, turning off my old phone which was connected to my Airave fixed the issue. After more tests I found that Airplane mode works too, as I still use my old EVO as a music player and remote control for my home devices. I have the 3G Airave BTW and I also reset my device and that didn't fix anything.

Reprogram the old EVO and remove your phone number and such. I remember one time when I moved to a new phone the old one kept getting texts and VM notifications. That was several years ago though.

So you guys have no problems with text messaging on Airave's? I have heard a lot of people really like the Airave, but I have also heard that some have trouble with text messages. Whats ya'lls experience been? Thx.

Sometimes the unit needs to be rebooted so calls and texts, but overall love it!

you guys need some glow sticks or sumfin to make the air raves work

Funny pun. My airave works fine for me, no real problems with texting, though my brother has a Boost mobile phone and it won't let him make a call while it is plugged in, so I have to unplug it when he comes over... If anyone has knowledge of how to fix that problem, I would appreciate it.

I used to have serious trouble with two different Airave's one two different accounts and they both had serious text messaging problems. If you had a message coming in or going out at the same time the Airave would freak out and it wouldn't let communicate correctly with your phone so you would end up sending 20+ (yes 20+ sometimes more but on average 8) messages a time. And this wouldn't just be once a night as it might happen 5 or 6 times depending on how popular, or psychotic, you are, lol. My friends actually got mad at me and I disconnected both of them for a week but that makes my signals stay at 100+! I think they pushed a fix as I haven't had the issue in a while and I haven't had it happen at all on my EVO LTE yet *crosses fingers*!

Josh, you can add phone numbers to the approved numbers list for your Airave on Sprint.com. I sent mine to just allow my phone and my neighbors but I know this causes a huge problem with callers who have other phones on my network near me but I don't care. The bandwidth supporting the Airave is mine that I pay for so I'm not letting John Smith download kiddie porn on my connection and get me in trouble. I would rather just have a signal booster as I don't like the idea of it using my internet. What the heck am I paying for again? Also I've had many issues with the Airave having dead air and when I would go to make a call it would make the double beep and then just sit there with no sound. Other times I get a message that says the call can't be completed. The GPS light always goes off and then I can't leave my house on a call with out it disconnecting and yes I have the GPS cable connected directly to my window glass and the Airave is right next to a huge window! To tell you the truth it is a piece of crap and I wouldn't have it unless it was free like it is and I couldn't get a signal in my house. Before I got the Airave I would always get voice-mail notifications of missed calls and late text messages. Now I just send 20+ messages to everyone, lol. But a signal is worth it.

I have the Airave 3G and I have two of them on two different internet connections attached to two different account and both have the exact same issues to the "T"! A signal booster would be better if you can afford it as you'll have much less problems in the long run.

Thanks, I will look into adding his number.

Also, I knew that there would be a problem loosing calls when you exit the airave service area and enter the normal signal, that was made clear to me when I got it. But when you have a large brick house that is built like a bomb shelter (only a slight exaggeration, lol) with radiant heat in all the floors (metal everywhere) and live out in the country... it was either get the airave or drop calls, lol.

See that is just the thing though, you shouldn't! You should be able to transition from the Airave signal area to a Sprint cell tower without issue. EG: You're getting ready for work and you have to make a call but you don't finish the call and are forced to take the call on the road your Airave should transfer the call automatically to the nearest tower. That is one of the main features and selling points of the Airave. Mine will make the transfer most of the time unless GPS is off and then it freaks out. I don't know who told you this couldn't be done but they are wrong. Now the Airave can't be transferred to if say the opposite were true. EG: Coming home on the phone and you walk into the house the call will not transfer to the Airave as it doesn't have that capability.

Also if you want to manage your Airave and set allowed numbers and service coverage area (three area types, small 2000 sq ft Go to Sprint.com > Login > My Preferences (Tab) > Go to "I want to..." on the right "Manage my AIRAVE" > Then change "Range" settings & "Users". Ranges are as follows (according to Airave rep) "Airave Sml Rng Provision Ph2" is supposedly 2-3k SQ FT "Airave Med Rng Provision Ph2" is 4-6k SQ FT and "Airave Lrg Rng Provision Ph2" is 7-8k+ SQ FT!

Good luck,

OK guys ? my phone (EVO LTE) makes a beep noise when im using my airave when i'm on a call. during a call when the screen goes off it beeps i can't hear it but the other person can it is the #0 that beeps. i found out by calling my voice mail and waving my hand over the phone to have it beep a couple of times and the VM lady saying your password is not 0000. this is my second EVO LTE phone and both did it. so do you think it is a glitch on the phone or airave and one other thing i can make it stop by changing the skin on my phone. but that only works for a day then i have to change my skin again. any ideas?

is it just one beep? I thought it "beeped" once if you were connected to the airave.. like a confirmation or something. At least I thought thats what I read somewhere.

    • In the conference call they had two question on additional spectrum. One was the 800 spectrum. They are not certain what will happen, thus have not really put it into their plans either way (sale or no sale). They do have a reserve level. Nationwide 800Mhz is seen as great for new technologies which I presume is IOT or 5g slices.  T-Mobile did not bite on use of their c-band or DOD.  mmWave rapidly approaching deadlines not mentioned at all. FWA brushes on this as it deals with underutilized spectrum on a sector by sector basis.  They are willing to take more money to allow FWA to be mobile (think RV or camping). Unsure if this represents a higher priority, for example, FWA Mobile in RVs in Walmart parking lots working where mobile phones need all the capacity. In terms of FWA capacity, their offload strategy is fiber through joint ventures where T-Mobile does the marketing, sales, and customer support while the fiber company does the network planning and installation.  50%-50% financial split not being consolidated into their books. I think discussion of other spectrum would have diluted the fiber joint venture discussion. They do have a fund which one use is to purchase new spectrum. Sale of the 800Mhz would go into this. It should be noted that they continue to buy 2.5Ghz spectrum from schools etc to replace leases. They will have a conference this fall  to update their overall strategies. Other notes from the call are 75% of the phones on the network are 5g. About 85% of their sites have n41, n25, and n71, 90% 5g.  93% of traffic is on midband.  SA is also adding to their performance advantage, which they figure is still ahead of other carriers by two years. It took two weeks to put the auction 108 spectrum to use at their existing sites. Mention was also made that their site spacing was designed for midrange thus no gaps in n41 coverage, while competitors was designed for lowband thus toggles back and forth for n77 also with its shorter range.
    • The manual network selection sounds like it isn't always scanning NR, hence Dish not showing up. Your easiest way to force Dish is going to be forcing the phone into NR-only mode (*#*#4636#*#* menu?), since rainbow sims don't support SA on T-Mobile.
    • "The company’s unique multi-layer approach to 5G, with dedicated standalone 5G deployed nationwide across 600MHz, 1.9GHz, and 2.5GHz delivers customers a consistently strong experience, with 85% of 5G traffic on sites with all three spectrum bands deployed." Meanwhile they are very close to a construction deadline June 1 for 850Mhz of mmWave in most of Ohio covering 27500-28350Mhz expiring 6/8/2028. No reported sightings.  Buildout notice issue sent by FCC in March 5, 2024 https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/letterPdf/LetterPdfController?licId=4019733&letterVersionId=178&autoLetterId=13060705&letterCode=CR&radioServiceCode=UU&op=LetterPdf&licSide=Y&archive=null&letterTo=L  No soecific permits seen in a quick check of Columbus. They also have an additional 200Mhz covering at 24350-25450 Mhz and 24950-25050Mhz with no buildout date expiring 12/11/2029.

They're completely avoiding talking about mmWave.
