That Lat/Long indicates a site that is in the Baltimore market.

I got 5 down and 2.5 up of LTE at 450 & Superior Lane in Bowie from the DC Beta Server. I'll try to send pic out soon.

Bowie is definitely in the DC market. Odell tried this site a few weeks ago when it was completed and showed up on our completed sites map. Glad to see it is live.

The next time you connect to this site, if you can please run the Sensorly app to plot the connections, we would appreciate it. Thanks!

With more and more NV towers coming online, I'm noticing much better data speeds in the western end of NoVA. Not perfect; even in Reston I see some towers are completed, and others are not, and my own office is served by a tower that is not complete. It's still getting much better.

I should be buying a SGSIII sometime soon so that I can start plotting my area with the Sensorly app, but it seems as though there is already 4G LTE around Takoma Park and Silver Spring. On the sensorly web page is it the second or first 4G? Because I haven't picked up WiMax on an OG EVO, so I'm thinking it must be LTE.

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm completely wrong on all counts. First of all there is no LTE in my area, and there are also now labels on the 4G since I last checked it (about last week). However, I'm hoping I can get lucky and I will pick up on some LTE once I finally get around to buying an SGSIII.

If you go back today, you should see that Sprint 4G-WiMax is labeled separately. LTE is the plain Sprint 4G

Yeah, I saw that, and edited it accordingly. Sorry to ninja-edit you. Also, I'm astounded at the amount of WiMax reported on there, considering I've almost never used it. Off to do some speed tests with it, to see if I even get it at my house.

I asked about the DC 4G LTE deployment when I was at a Sprint store yesterday' date=' the agent told me that it will be another 6-8 months!! Don't know if the agent was told to say this, but from October to this statement, sheesh![/quote']

This is not accurate. This is the first time I've heard of store personnel being inaccurate to the other extreme. In our Sponsor maps you can see all the completed NV sites to date. It gets updated every week.

Sprint store reps usually never know what they're talking about. DC is a pretty big market, so even if it doesn't start on schedule, the deployment will definitely start before 2013. In fact, it may already be deploying but just not discoverable.

The rep could've been talking about when the whole DC area will be done, which does sound accurate.

99% percent of the time a regular customer or even a 1st line rep is not going to talk with someone in the know about the contractors schedule. It's just all hearsay and rumors for the most part.

The deployment started months ago in the DC market. We are tracking them in our Sponsor maps.

Ah, right. I forgot that 3G was part of NV too, haha.

No, ha ha. There are two accepted 4G sites in the DC market and dozens that have had work done, but yet to be accepted

What does that mean' date=' exactly? Are we still getting LTE this month?[/quote']

Not likely. There may be some sporadic signals to start appearing soon. But I think the earliest you can expect prelaunch is November now.

Nooooooooo. Oh well, I'll have the better part of two years with LTE likely, so it's fine.

I drove down to Alexandria on I-95 today, and didn't get any LTE after Laurel. I was disappointed, to say the least. :dep:

You're not alone... the snails pace of rollout in the DMV is disappointing. I'm curious if Alcatel-Lucent's financial struggles have anything to do with the speed of deployment.

After driving around Baltimore, I expected so much. Hopefully A-L will speed it up in the coming weeks.

    • Excuse my rookie comments here, but after enabling *#73#, it seems that the rainbow sim V2? requires n70 (I turned it off along with n71 - was hoping to track n66) to be available else it switches to T-Mobile.  So this confirms my suspicion that you need to be close to a site to get on Dish.  Have no idea why they don't just use plmn. To test, I put it into a s21 ultra, rebooted twice, came up on T-Mobile (no n70 on s21).  Tried to manually register on 313340, but it did not connect (tried twice). I am on factory unlocked firmware but used a s22 hack to get *#73# working.  Tried what you were suggesting with a T-Mobile sim partially installed, but that was very unstable with Dish ( I think they had figured that one out).  [edit: and now I see Boost sent me a successful device swap notice which says I can now begin to use my new device.  Sigh.  Will try again later and wait for this message - too impatient.]
    • Hopefully this indicates T-Mobile hasn't completely abandoned mmwave and/or small cells? But then again this is the loop, so take that as you will. Hopefully now that most macro activity is done (besides rural colo/builds), they will start working on small cells.
    • This has been approved.. https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/fcc-approves-t-mobiles-deal-to-purchase-mint-mobile/
    • In the conference call they had two question on additional spectrum. One was the 800 spectrum. They are not certain what will happen, thus have not really put it into their plans either way (sale or no sale). They do have a reserve level. Nationwide 800Mhz is seen as great for new technologies which I presume is IOT or 5g slices.  T-Mobile did not bite on use of their c-band or DOD.  mmWave rapidly approaching deadlines not mentioned at all. FWA brushes on this as it deals with underutilized spectrum on a sector by sector basis.  They are willing to take more money to allow FWA to be mobile (think RV or camping). Unsure if this represents a higher priority, for example, FWA Mobile in RVs in Walmart parking lots working where mobile phones need all the capacity. In terms of FWA capacity, their offload strategy is fiber through joint ventures where T-Mobile does the marketing, sales, and customer support while the fiber company does the network planning and installation.  50%-50% financial split not being consolidated into their books. I think discussion of other spectrum would have diluted the fiber joint venture discussion. They do have a fund which one use is to purchase new spectrum. Sale of the 800Mhz would go into this. It should be noted that they continue to buy 2.5Ghz spectrum from schools etc to replace leases. They will have a conference this fall  to update their overall strategies. Other notes from the call are 75% of the phones on the network are 5g. About 85% of their sites have n41, n25, and n71, 90% 5g.  93% of traffic is on midband.  SA is also adding to their performance advantage, which they figure is still ahead of other carriers by two years. It took two weeks to put the auction 108 spectrum to use at their existing sites. Mention was also made that their site spacing was designed for midrange thus no gaps in n41 coverage, while competitors was designed for lowband thus toggles back and forth for n77 also with its shorter range.
    • The manual network selection sounds like it isn't always scanning NR, hence Dish not showing up. Your easiest way to force Dish is going to be forcing the phone into NR-only mode (*#*#4636#*#* menu?), since rainbow sims don't support SA on T-Mobile.
