  1. What RootMetrics doesn't do is say if the signal is LTE/3G/o, which is data Sensorly wants. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. IMO, it's worth it, especially since it's not under contract, so you can turn your data on/off monthly. I have had a wifi iPad and wound up exchanging it for the convenience of 3G. Tethering sounds interesting, but I would want to see the Sprint plans first. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Here's Apple's trade in calculator, but you can probably get a better deal at Gazelle.com http://store.apple.com/us/browse/reuse_and_recycle Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. weellllll, we do know the answer to that question. Nope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The info is up. Sprint LTE is supported: http://www.apple.com/ipad/compare/
  6. I watched the livestream and the mini is certainly an impressive product. It hits the right notes for the Apple faithful. I thought the side-by-side comparison to the Android device did an excellent job of illustrating why one would might a mini over the Nexus. The screen resolution isn't what I expected, but I like the fact that it's compatible with existing apps without and coding.
  7. That really is a stunning refresh rate. I would be annoyed if I had a 3rd gen iPad, but I'm looking forward to the 4th gen (and I'd like to see the mini as well).

  9. True. My challenge with Carrier Compare is that they don't map their data or share specifics about the quality of the data they do have.
  10. RootMetrics does upload coverage data collected by iPhones. It's the only one that I know of that does. It takes 5-10 minutes for your test to show on their map.
  11. You can call *3001#12345#* to bring up the field test Hold down the power/sleep button until you get the power off screen Hold down the home button until you return to the home screen Now it will work. You can toggle between numbers/bars by tapping them.
  12. If they're on Sprint & have broadband, get them an Airave.
  13. RM might get signal strength from CTGetSignalStrength, which is undocumented. I am not aware of an API call to differentiate between LTE & 3G and that data appears to be what Sensorly users like most. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. No, from the Field Test, when you hold down power, you'll get the power down slider screen. Don't power down. Hold down the home key and you'll eventually get to the home screen and have numerical signal strength. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I hope I'm not hijacking the thread, but coverage.sprint.com has also been updated for me. It's still utterly wrong, but it now shows that parts of Grapevine, TX do not have LTE.
  16. Part of the problem is that Sprint's implementation is different than the rest of the world in some aspects. The iPhone, for example, supports HD Voice, but it's not compatible with Sprint's network. The same can be said for several Android phones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. No. After you have field test loaded, hold down the power button until you get the lock screen, then push the home button. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Felix Baumgartner reported excellent Sprint LTE in Roswell today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. So, this is not fluctuating between LTE and 3G? Just losing 3G. I would go back to Apple with both phones and see if you can repro there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. That's great news! When did it come on? I was over there maybe 10 days ago and got nothing, but I also wasn't hunting for the tower.
