  1. That's the first thing I thought. Interesting that Verizon numbers rely heavily on tablet sales. I wish Sprint would do the same but alas they don't have a large tablet selection. Regardless, it is going to be very interesting to see the numbers on Nov 3.
  2. put this in the "are they freaking kidding me" department. Sprint, AT&T And T-Mobile To Offer Samsung Galaxy Note Edge; Russian Price Is $1218 Equivalent Granted its still way to early to tell if the prices are set, marked up, or will go down from that price. But if the price is close to that here in the U.S., then I see it not selling so well. Anyway just had to through that out there. TS
  3. Figures..., spouse takes the update and installs it and naturally loses root.
  4. lol That's my CIA/NSA/FBi look. Now I have to take you all out. And I am not talking about dinner either. TS
  5. ^ Correct, AJ brings a very valid point. Hits it on the nail again, best analogy yet, still, I like big cars and phones so bring it on Marcelo make it so. TS
  6. That would be awesome for those that buy Nexus every year. Actually makes sense. Folks love their iPhones and folks love their Nexuses. Now all Marcelo needs to do is make a 4Life campaign for the Galaxy lines (especially the Notes). Then the cycle would be complete. Sorry Windows/Blackberry folks, no soup for you. TS
  7. I believe Android has support for styluses since version I (Ice Cream Sandwich) but I do not recall any Android device coming with a stylus to use it. i don't even know if it is wacom or N-Trig based. either way that pen on the table next to the device is just a regular ink pen.
  8. It will probably till sell, but again, they should have brought over the high end device and not this one. What really concerns me is the screen doubling as a speaker which in the article sounded like the person was in an empty room. TS
  9. I agree, I don't recall seeing this type of giveaway before (by anyone). Seems product managers will perform an unboxing of the device and take questions within the time specified. The questions posted will be answered pertaining to the device and the best questions would be judged by the panel and the poster(s) with the best questions will get a Aquos. TS
  10. I agree, seems like a drop test accident. Point is, if you he bought an expensive $xxxx amount of phone, and doesn't know what happened to it that results in a cracked screen, then maybe they shouldn't get said expensive device in the first place. Its more likely that he is embarrassed that he dropped it or gave it to someone and they dropped it. But seriously, I refuse to believe that can happen on its own and or the owner does not know what caused it. TS
  11. What the hell do you mean he doesn't know. That can't happen without some sort of intervention (fall, sat on, run over, etc). Phones don't simply crack for the heck of it. TS
  12. Call it coincidence, good luck or our own requests, but one thing is certain, Sprint is really listening to their customers. Besides this example, it seems that both social media and their own forums are being closely watched. Last week a member over in the Sprint Community forums complained about the $24 price difference between the White and Black Note 4 in the sales page as well as the $349 2 yr contract price. Seems the reps brought it up the chain of command and Sprint changed it to match everyone else. TS
  13. You know you're a S4GRU Enthusiast when... You check the website more than checking on your spouse or children. You find any excuse for any day trip to go out and take pics of a site. You start drooling at pics of newly installed panels. Your family thinks you are one step closer to the looney bin, but still love you. You change plans every other week since another one comes out every other week and you're happy to report it. The cops don't bother asking you why you taking pics of a site anymore. You get audited by the IRS for stating that traveling to take site pics is not a hobby but a job. You increase your cloud storage for all the speedtest pics you upload. You want to be adopted by Marcelo Claure and have a lifelong supply of devices. Your spouse stops you from giving your yearly bonus to the site just to be on top of the Honor list. You set every device in the Sprint store to show s4gru.com as the home page. You plan your vacation using the websites NV Deployment maps. You finally accept that you talk in your sleep when your spouse plays back a recorded tape of you saying, "carrier aggregation,... 8T8R,... speedtest,... backhaul... cow... IBEZ" TS out image by member: KD8JBF
  14. That image is so wrong on so many levels. Speaking of perception, I noticed that folks coming into a Sprint store will flat out state that their signal is really low (when compared to outside). It would be nice if Sprint can one of their wall monitors showing the speedtests of numerous places around the country of the Sparks network. Customers waiting to be taken care of will see it and visually see the improvements Sprint has made. TS
  15. that is shorthand for a 8 transmit, 8 receive radio module. Basically a smart antenna technology (much like a multiple input-multiple output MIMO but way stronger like on steroids). By using a 8 receiver paths instead of 2 the cell range can be increased by a factor of 4 if i am not mistaken. It is being used on the 2.5GHz TDD-LTE in urban dense markets. This along with the 1.9GHz FDD-LTE and the 800MHz FDD-LTE for in-building coverage, will make Sprints' Spark a force to be recon with. That i know of T-Mobile is only deploying 4 transit-4 Recieve radio modules. There is a thread on how to identify them on a site. TS
  16. If I recall, Robert also pointed out in one of the threads, that due to the time-frame in which Samsung unveils the Note series every year, the devices are more likely to not include the latest changes imposed by Sprint. Last year it was Spark/Tri-Band, this year its CA, not full CCA/ RRPP, etc. Its always something with the Notes. At least this time around it is a Sparks phone. btw, A+ on the article. TS
  17. Forget the wives wrath, its AJs wrath you will have to deal with. Lol I see a site close to you on fire in your future.
  18. While I like that Sprint is doing this at a fast break speed, I actually do not like the name. It makes it look like its only geared to Mexico. Why not call it America Connected and More Plan or Connected Americas & More plan since its basically quite a few countries in North, Central and South America. TS
  19. Why go for the Kung Fu panda, when you can go for Godzilla. (I probably should put that in the bad joke thread) TS
  20. Sprint made a few changes in that system wide shutdown yesterday. 1- The $24 price difference between ordering the Black and White Note 4 is not longer there. Both colors are the same price now. 2- The Galaxy Note 4 price 2 yr price has gone down from $349 to now $299 in the Sprint store. This price now matches all retailers and all other Notes from other carriers. TS
  21. 5 got bumped off just like that. Damn, what a massacre (or a victory depending on who you talk to). TS
