Boost and Virgin throttling heavy data users to 128kb in May
RichardXy replied to dkyeager's topic in General Topics
Wouldn't it just be easier to eliminate the Boost and Virgin brands? They should do it now while they are still having subscriber losses from the NV build out. -
Has anyone seen a Sprint LTE commercial?
RichardXy replied to shannonbrian's topic in General Topics
They should stick to the Framily commercials until theyare at least done with NV 1.0. -

Sorry state of Network Vision in March 2014. -
I was wondering about the 800 LTE coverage in the OC. I thought Spark meant TD-LTE and 800 LTE. I figured the old Wimax sites got converted but i wasn't aware of any 800 sites.

I just noticed on the coverage maps at Sprint.com that Orange County, CA is live with Spark. It covers from San Juan Capistrano in the south up to Downey and Santa Fe Springs and west to Long Beach. I haven't seen any evidence on this site to support this. Has Sprint gotten ahead of itself on its own coverage maps? Any thoughts?

When you take out the tablet numbers, they lost 400,000 customers. I would think that most tablet customers already have Sprint service so in essence aren't tablet activations already existing Sprint customers?

New San Diego market equipment problems?
RichardXy replied to jsage's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
The site at my work was 4g accepted last year. Over Christmas, we had 2 week outage for 3G phones only. Our phones were roaming and cycling between 1x Sprint and 3G roaming. 4g phones were not affected. It's all fixed now. Unrelated to that, I know that AT&T is in the middle of a major speed/capacity upgrade of their uverse fiber lines in San Diego so maybe that is affecting the Sprint sites as well. -
PCS/AWS-2 H block FCC Auction 96 results thread

I wonder why Salt Lake is selling for more than Phoenix or Denver. -
I'm still waiting for winter in San Diego. We need the rain but then again I don't want any network vision delays either. :-/
-
I hope this goes through. We desperately need the spectrum and infrastructure in San Diego County.

sprint dead last in consumer reports downfrom no 2 last year
RichardXy replied to Terrell352's topic in General Topics
So there was a lack of information and you wanted to share but found the current methods frustrating. You wanted to discuss network improvements and other telecommunication projects including the Sprint 4g rollout. Over time this site expanded to include other related topics. Whether you agree or not, most of the people on this site came here to find information regarding 4G in their area. This site is promoted that way. -
sprint dead last in consumer reports downfrom no 2 last year
RichardXy replied to Terrell352's topic in General Topics
That's not revisionist. Yes, the site pre-existed the first 4G sites however the site is called Sprint 4G rollout updates after all. People found the site out of their frustration waiting for 4G wimax. -

The article wasn't about Network Vision. The article was about the poor customer experience at Sprint. Bravo to Consumer Reports for deducting points for the "pardon our dust" state of the Sprint Network. The lack of upgrades and lack of information from Sprint have been frustrating for many. It's been so frustrating that it led to the creation of this very site so that people could regain some sanity. Maybe in a few years Consumer Reports will reconsider. -
Could Sprint customers ever roam on AT&T's 1900 LTE if there were a roaming agreement in place? This isn't a "will it ever happen" type of question. I'm just wondering if its possible.

I find it very amusing that everyone is saying its OK if Alcatel-Lucent is my vendor again but no one is saying that they would love to have Alcatel as their vendor.
-
My area isn't getting 800 until after 2016 so I pretty much ignore 800 altogether. There's nothing that Alcatel can really do about it because of the international agreements.
-
In terms of percentages Alcatel doesn't have the most completed. The three vendors don't have an equal number of towers to upgrade. Alcatel has 44.66% of the towers and the other two vendors have 27.66% each. Alcatel actually lags in LTE deployments compared to the other two as percentage of work completed. But all of that is irrelevant. I hope they redivide the nation into 33% chunks to make the deployment more balanced.
-
I hope that Sprint draws up new territories for the Spark deployments. I haven't been in impressed with Alcatel-Lucent. I'm hoping we get a different vendor in southern California.

AT&T's LTE network impaired by salon's fluorescent light
RichardXy replied to bandwithhog's topic in General Topics
General Electric is the best. I love them. -
I got 35 Mbps a few times when the towers first went up but then the speeds quickly simmer down to the 11-12 Mbps range if you are lucky enough to find an area with LTE.
