  1. I hope this means bidding together and not against each other.
  2. I'd prefer to see a T-Mobile and Clearwire merger that would result in Sprint owning 25% of the combined company. Sprint would then be in a good position to merge with that company later.
  3. From the album: north san diego

This site has been accepted as 3G complete. These 3 panels face eastward, there is an identical set of panels on the westward side of the building.
  4. From the album: north san diego

This site at La Costa Ave and El Camino Real has been accepted as 3G complete for network vision. This is one set of 3 panels on this building. These panels face north and are a little different than the ones on the east and west side of the building. The third panel is hidden behind the tree branch and there is room for another panel between the first and second one.
  5. From the album: north san diego

This was the speed test at the Network Vision accepted site in Carlsbad, CA at the intersection of La Costa Avenue and El Camino Real. 2.3 Mbps- impressive.
  6. From the album: north san diego

Sprint cell tower panels in Carlsbad, CA.
  7. I was pointing out that the math doesn't really add up for just a quarter behind. At the current rates of deployment, it seems like they are more than 3 months behind.
  8. Wasn't the plan to have 12,000 sites completed this year? There's only 34 days left this year and you need to factor Christmas into that. I don't see how that number is possible.
  9. Happy Thanksgiving! I'm very thankful for this site and all its contributors especially the ones that get all the information to us.
  10. I haven't seen too many speed increases in north county. It looks like Sprint is following that lame strategy of starting in Chula Vista and working their way north. They had stated that they would spread the upgrades out so that different areas could share in the benefits but if you take a look at the network.sprint.com site, it becomes obvious that they are following Verizon's strategy of south to north.
  11. It really doesn't make sense I've read your explanations but it still makes no sense why alca-lu would be starting some markets early when they are already behind on markets that were supposed to start. Also, Alca-Lu's west coast area isn't showing anywhere near the progress of it's east coast one. It's like there is an Alcatel A team for the east coast and the west is stuck with the B team.
  12. This is awesome for people in the Chicago area!
  13. Clearwire should sell half of the spectrum to Sprint and then Sprint should cut its ties with Clearwire once and for all. Yes, I am bitter that San Diego was to be one of the launch launch cities for XOHM (wimax) before the whole Clearwire fiasco. Nothing would make me happier than to see Clearwire in bankruptcy and Sprint with half the spectrum for itself.
  14. I was referring to the information from the premier section maps regarding deployment dates. Most of Orange County's dates were after San Diego so it makes me wonder why you would claim Orange County started on time and San Diego was not late.
  15. I'd have to disagree. It looks like Alca-Lu is behind in Southern California. There should be 100's of live LTE sites in San Diego, Orange, and San Bernadino/Riverside. There's not much progress in their second round probably because LA is sucking up all the resources.
  16. It's great that they are starting early but we need to keep in mind that starting is no indication of when these markets will finish. San Diego is another Alca-Lu area that should have started but we have yet to see any official confirmation that anything is happening. I sometimes wonder if some of these third round markets are lighting up some towers just to make the national footprint look larger.
  17. From the album: north san diego

There is a new tower somewhere in Rainbow, CA but it's exact location is not revealed on the map.
  18. There is a new tower in north San Diego County near the town of Rainbow, CA. No marker appears on the map however the new tower is listed in the legend in the lower left hand corner. I might have to drive out there and investigate.
  19. I am just curious to know if Sprint will start hosting Clear spectrum in areas like San Diego that never received a full wimax deployment. Do you think they will add antennas or other radio equipment that can host that spectrum as they roll out network vision?
  20. the old maps were a lot better if you live in an area with few recent upgrades. I used to have nearly 150 planned upgrades in my area and now I have just 12 completed ones! If they are trying to find more ways to discourage their customers than they can add a nother check to that list! Also, i love how they always leave Los Angeles off the drop down list.
  21. I think the north LA deployment hints that Riverside/San Bernadino, Orange County and San Diego are most likely well under way also.
  22. Yes according to the maps I am. Alcatel-Lucent and/or the backhaul vendor seems to be falling far behind.
