  1. People may not be interested in looking al over the place to find a post. Why even bother to maintain the WiMAX section if you can post about issues related to the shutdown are not fund here?
  2. Sure but at least this post is in the Wimax section.
  3. MB and MC had the court extent the original injunction throughout March. The scheduled decommissioning of the network: http://www.mobilebeacon.org/wimax-shutdown/
  4. It doesn't take me 15MB down to save on my data use...
  5. Oh no, I'm enjoying all the free data on my FreedomPOP Evo4G, a nice hotsport app and 15MB down. Using it till the end.
  6. I'm using RingPlus and you get ads before the call is connected. I'm sure the system will not be perfect and a good ad blocker can kill the ads anyways.
  7. I have an unlimited data plan (2 lines for $100 / same on Sprint) and I noticed in the Bay Area that T-Mobile is getting worse in terms of providing a good image. I also noticed that if you do an image search via Google, it takes much longer now until the image is clear. On Sprint I have not seen it and B41 seems to grow every day. Sites that were Clearwire before have now been reflaged to Sprint.
  8. I activated a couple of LTE hotspots on RingPlus and you can't beat 1800MB free data each month.
  9. Found this article this morning. https://beta.finance.yahoo.com/news/sprint-plans-1-billion-cost-183421251.html
  10. The network at the convention center was great, B41 all the way and speeds were great. The Sands convention center needs support of LTE and my guess the hotel wasn't upgraded much either. I had a solid signal on the -3rd level parking garage but mostly 3G. Casino was LTE but in some areas, more at the back of the convention center, you got at best 3G. LTE speeds were also not very impressive. Again, LVCC showed major improvement but could use a bit more capacity too!
  11. What band will Sprint use for 5G in the future? Will they deploy a dual solution on B41?
  12. I would like to see a usage app for RingPlus on Android, especially for the amount of data that is being used. I knoe FreedomPOP and Ting offered an app like most carriers but RP as been absent.
  13. I was driving a couple of days on CA-87 in the Downtown San Jose area and my good old Evo4G got 12MB down and 1.5MB up during heavy traffic. I'm still enjoying WiMax as long the system is on air and FreedomPOP is unable to meter WiMax data. Thank you Sprint, this reminds me the good old days of a BoostBerry!
  14. I actually think Clear did a real nice job with their coverage map and the color scheme on Sprint's map is less as perfect. People who are color blind can't even get the different networks etc.
  15. The coverage map is a mess, still too small and too many colors.
  16. I'm back in the Bay Area and all my Evo4G's are working just fine and it seems as there is no data use on my FP account. Not sure why but this is very nice. 12MB down on WiMax, much better as b25 LTE
  17. I have seen 2CA active in Las Vegas and WiMax was still running. Same in the Bay Area with Sprint B41 2CA and WiMax still active. So why can't this be done in NYC?
  18. Is there a time table set for the current Clearwire LTE sites to be taken down and replaced by Sprint build sites?
  19. That would work because I have a $100/2lines Unlimited pack already on my account any the credit fits right into my bill
  20. So let me get this straight, I don't have to turn in my phone. Okay. so no contracts on T-Mobile? So why don't I activate a Boost Line, get the number assigned but no credit refill. Bring that number to T-Mobile, let them pay me $200 for coming to them and cancel next day? Repeat? Profit?
  21. My FreedomPOP Evo4G refuses to work with WiMax now. It registers but there is no more data allowed to flow.
  22. I actually love the spinning spark logo because you see much better if data is being transferred or not.
  23. Technology is not the problem its usage. WiMax offered unlimited & unthrottled service for MC/MB customers and they like to keep it because they claim that their agreement allows them the best service available for their customers.
  24. I have seen the long range B41 sites too when you drive along I-15 before and after you pass the tower in Primm, NV. My guess you hold on to the signal for about 8-10 miles in each direction. There is nothing blocking the signal.
  25. WiMax is still running nicely in my area but I noticed that FreedomPOP is not able to see the data being used, so essential it's FREE!. I wish Sprint would have created a program for Clear brand customers to continue their service on LTE, limiting the speeds for a fixed monthly price.
