Im pretty sure i used 21086 for this screen cap, (would initially connect to LTE and of course disconnect after a few seconds) but I will try a few of the PRL's I tried before so i can verify.
-
So is their any reason why my phone would never connect to those 1x 800 sites around me unless I use 21086x.prl? Even when my signal is holding on for dear life on 1900 then eventually 1x but never 800.
-
Yes of course you can, but so far from the few PRL's I have tested that prioritize 1x 800, I have been unable to connect to LTE.
-
Hey digi, which PRL would prioritize 1x 800 for voice and still keep me on LTE, especially since there seems to be a big influx of 1x 800 sites up and running in NYC, would probably be reasonably stable.
-
That isn't unreasonable to assume a next summer completion, but NYC does have live 2500 sites, and also adding 800 LTE will greatly improve coverage even without adding any additional upgraded sites.
-
Ignore my comment above, I just realized you mentioned "launched" Sprint did say they will launch when at 40% POP. That might be a bit overzealous for a place like NYC and a bit too low.
-
I think in practice this sounds nice and dandy, but so many unforeseen roadblocks like weather, permits and again backhaul, would probably cause unnecessary delays, and in the end piss off more people. But, I believe your right in that sprint felt the pressure from the other carriers and forced them to launch in smaller pockets.

Was in Chelsea area last night, Had very good LTE, between 6-20mb down, then went indoors lost LTE, But, indoor 3G was very impressive 1.5-2.0mb down really low pings.
-
My assumption is you probably haven't looked too deep into this site. Sprint is doing all it can to get all the sites up and running as soon as they are ready to go. They do also turn sites on and off for testing purposes. So patience is going to be important if you plan on sticking with sprint. The main issue in completing most sites is the lack of backhaul (high speed fiber to power the net) and other unforeseen things. But if you spend 15 minutes browsing through this forum you will find a wealth of information that is not only promising, but also pretty exciting.

Sometimes the Mods will just move your post to the appropriate location, should be in the LI thread.

I did the same and picked up 800 from 6 different sites in the bronx, almost perfectly usable. But it was a different story in manhattan. I did connect from 11st to a Site on 30th st on 1x800, quite impressive in Manhattan.

What sort of signal strength? Try signal check app to get dBm signal strength, also If your still in the area, map it with sensorly, if you got a few moments..btw welcome to the forum..

Decided to flash the test PRL....and viola! 1x800 in my neighborhood! Also connected to more than one site broadcasting 800. Signal strength increased about -8dBm. The only thing I'm unsure of is what PRL would prioritize 800 and allow me to still use LTE. Also, what is stopping my phone from natively connecting to these sites considering that the Default PRL has 800SMR support. Here are 1x and 1x800 shots, connected to the same site

I doubt he was trolling. On that same note, just got off the phone with sprint rep (for unrelated reasons), and he did mention that there is a site not far from me that should be broadcasting 800. Take that with a grain of salt!
