  1. LOL...yeah..just means you have no LTE connection...try airplane mode..you get 50. BTW, has anyone noticed how fast airplane mode toggles.
  2. Here are some awesome samples of the camera in action. http://www.androidcentral.com/nexus-5-initial-photo-and-video-samples
  3. I agree, the camera is very nice so far, Low light shots are generally good with alot less noise compared to my HTC One, which tended to be abit overzealous in the processing department. But also, the lens is NOT as wide as the One, so thats that..gotta move back another couple feet to get the same shot.
  4. Guys, as much as I would like to enable B41, I am afraid of potential issues cropping up like on the LG G2 , can anyone confirm that the APN settings are in place? Also, again, I cannot stress enough how much better! the signal is vs my HTC One. Another thing, noticed the handset gets warm after extended periods on a phone call.
  5. Yea it is bonkers how good it is, I never thought for a moment that my HTC radio could have been atributing to my low signal strength to that degree! and -20dBm is not over estimating at all!!
  6. Ok after 2 full days of use, my personal take away. 1. Signal strength is monumentally better than my HTC ONE. 2. Call quality and connection is quite amazing, and the other side says I sound PERFECT! 3. I connect to 1x800 and LTE without issues and stay connected! also my speeds are generally 20-30% faster on average vs my HTC One. 4. Phone feels really nice in the hand, the fact that it has the power button on the side vs the HTC, that had it on top is sooo much more comfortable. 5. Battery life was okish for the first day, (im guessing all the syncing and software updating etc..hurt the battery a bit, and my inability to put it down..) But second day was very very good. Got about 11 hrs of pretty abusive use (vs my HTC One would get me about 8) 6. Screen is really nice, color tones are slightly muted but not too washed out, black levels are meh! compared to my HTC One which were GREAT! 7. Speaker is quite crappy and mono, compared to my HTC One definitely two steps down. So in the end, I am one happy camper, time to start rooting and doing the fun stuff!
  7. Yes I did. Tmobile SIM would take over.
  8. I think your referring to the GRAM which enables the equivalent of panel self refresh for the display and can run parts of the subsystem and save power. Which I don't doubt is also included in this phone. But, what i was referring to was the way the cells were stacked inside the battery pack, if im not mistaken, its the same tech that squeezes more cells in a smaller space. SiO+anode compared to typical graphite anode.
  9. I cant believe it!!! Sprint love in a review.. http://www.androidcentral.com/using-galaxy-note-3-and-galaxy-gear-sprint
  10. Why would it?...same battery tech, 700mAh less. So no..But compared to your typical GS4 or HTC One, it can easily stand toe to toe and even best those devices.
  11. So far its blowing my brothers Nexus 4 away (but thats not saying much)..and slightly better than my rooted HTC One with modded battery saving kernel. All stock.
  12. give this a go! http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4989-lg-nexus-5-users-thread/?p=231874
  13. As soon as I get home I will look deeper into the engineering screen. I bet somebody will beat me to it.
  14. Is yours displaying the 1x stats? Cause for whatever reason its only showing LTE. BTW yes...KILLING my HTC One.
  15. It's just that simple, just swap sim cards. The only complication is leaving the nexus to another device due to the fact that they have to activate via the MEI.
  16. For T mobile no....not at all, the process is alot less painful on GSM, on sprint not so much. As soon as I popped the T mobile sim in, it instantly switched networks to T mobile.
  17. For the most part, all I did was go to networks under settings, and switched it back to sprint. Also, noticed a verizon option under the network list. Which is interesting (might be due to sprint roaming is my assumption)
  18. Yes it was activated! one thing to note, I was able to pop in a T mobile sim, and the phone switched right to GSM without issues and Signal check displayed the usual stats!
  19. I am not 100% sure what signal check is picking up but its under "LTE", might need to try to get into an engineering screen to get more details on ACTUAL signal strength, but so far its showing some pretty incredible numbers.
  20. Hopefully we can finally start seeing some user feedback. So far so good! it is without a doubt the best device ive owned!!!
  21. Also, looks like Signal check needs an update, i seriously believe its picking up one of the other Frequencies (most likely B41) and it also does not display 1xRTT for CDMA at all. Cant wait till signal check pro gets an update! YAY! Another thing i noticed, what it does pick up on signal check pro is showing TREMENDOUS improvement on signal strength compared to my HTC ONE (Avg of -100dBm on HTC One vs -78dBm!!!!! on the Nexus) Here is some eye candy for you guys
  22. Just so everyone ones! I got mine up and running without any issues! Used prior HTC One sim card to activate, and just chatted with tech support and used *#06# to get MEID from dialer and supplied that for activation. Note* Was unable to use the website to activate manually, it kept rejecting the IMEI (which just so happened to be the same number, minus the last digit as mentioned before) Bottom Line, as long as you can get your hands on a HTC one sim card (micro-sim) you should be good to go! Good Luck guys.
