  1. Just noticed a dark spot on William st down by Wall St closer east. Looks like downtown is finally moving along.
  2. As far as I know, they never do this. They do turn towers on and off. But never block through a PRL..It will eventually be turned back on. Or you could try cycling airplane mode as well.
  3. Cablevision seems to have a solid relationship with Sprint and getting the backhaul in place. BK and Bronx lit up fairly quickly, unlike Queens, Manhattan.
  4. that's pretty damn good, I'm guessing your WiFi router ain't too shabby. Plus, yes the iPhone 5s I/o performance is showing its muscle.
  5. That most likely is the case considering how far along they are, but you never know with the lack of consistency in this whole deployment.
  6. From the iPhone keypad, dial *3001#12345#* and hit “Call”
  7. Nice! be on the lookout for BAND 26 (LTE 800)...would be awesome to be first here in NYC!,( as far as I know) do you know how to verify on your phone?
  8. That's most likely what's going on. Hopefully it wont last too long..some people experience this for days others for weeks, but the take away is that it usually comes back with upgrades.
  9. Yes more sites need to go live to service that area. Theirs no way that one site can service one of the most dense places per block in NYC..But, they usually come in bunches so lets hope this will spur up more acceptances quicker in the area. Also, I don't think we will have to wait till 2016 for all that goodness, seems more like 6-8 months. Maybe end of 2014 for most Clear sites in NYC, since we already have active band 41.
  10. Couldn't resist, mapped some of the area in and around Trinity Place downtown. Speeds were between 10-20mb sec. (But 1am on a Saturday)
  11. Bro, theres alot of uncovered land south of 1st street and 1st ave...LOL
  12. Actually anything in the wall street area has been void of any LTE.
  13. One dark purple spot downtown by trinity pl and rector!I wonder if this is any indication something is FINALLY going on downtown.
  14. Iphone 5s dual band not looking so horrible anymore!
  15. Take this back, unfortunately, as you probably have noticed...NOTE 3 is NOT! Triband! disappointing!
  16. The general consensus is that you loose quite a bit of performance over Wifi vs USB (20-40%) and generally speaking N wireless radio is limited. Until they start building these things with AC wireless standard (HTC ONE has it and can Blaze at speeds over 300mb/s) But, at that signal strength I expected well over 20mb/s speeds.
  17. Im starting to get the feeling that any other backhaul vendor besides Optimum, are taking their sweet ass time! Also read an article about how verizon is giving up on patching up the old copper lines and opting to go all fiber and that could also be causing more delays due to an influx of more work because of Hurricane Sandy.
  18. What kind of signal strength are we talking about here? and are you using it over USB or Wifi?
  19. Believe it or not, im thinking of going for the Note 3. I love my HTC ONE, but the metal housing (and maybe other factors) definitely makes the signal a bit weaker than my old GS3. Doing a side by side comparison its always 3-4 dBm stronger than my ONE. Are theyre any confirmed reports of the Max coming to sprint? cause that would add to my list of phones to consider.
  20. NYC is already full of band 41, clearwire has been actively converting their sites for a while. Someone out there is using a Triband hotspot and probably getting 40mb/s+ on band 41 as we speak.
  21. That does appear to be the case. But not for long, considering the Note 3 seems to be coming in Oct.
  22. Band 26=800 LTE and Band 41=2500/2600 TD-LTE. Bottom line, Iphone 5C/S is dual band 800/1900 LTE bizarre being the only dual band phone, weak move by apple! Im sure their will be plenty of android phones out to balance the load between all three bands. Considering it looks like we are getting all the top android phones with triband radios (Nexus 5, LG G2, Note 3 and GS4 mini) might be time to weigh in your options.
