  1. Akin to using wire hanger for broadcast television! Im sure id get at least -10dBm better reception with one of those glued to my HTC ONE internally.
  2. Just had a flashback of my Nextel BB..with its awesome retractable antenna! Yo! can you hear me!? hold on let me extend this flimsy ass antenna.
  3. Lets try to stay on topic, but, Its funny that you mention this because ive been having issues since yesterday. Regardless, after they finished deploying in the Bronx my speeds have always been 5-10mb a second over the advertised speed. Also, they do use FIBER everywhere, to the tap, then Coaxial inside the homes and buildings.
  4. It sounds to me like you had a very weak signal, considering how far away from the LTE tower you were. Install signal check (if your on android, iphones signal bar display LTE) and you can at least get a better idea of your signal in decibel (anything stronger than -110 should be usable) rather than signal bars. But, I can safely say that at that distance from the tower your will be very faint.
  5. It seems we just hit the half way point in completed NV sites, and it would be a massive undertaking to backtrack older sites. But, maybe for the second half of the deployment and just our local market (maybe tri-state area) wouldn't be such a huge project. hmmm...
  6. Its awesome that Robert is posting daily site upgrades, but one thing that would help tremendously would be to take note of the date when the sites were discovered so that we know when those sites went up and fill sensorly with some purple!
  7. As far as Manhattan and the Bronx are concerned, where I spend the most time in, its tougher to find newly upgraded sites.
  8. Killing me with the "meg" thing lol! that cant be good for forums search feature...anything wrong with "MHz"
  9. I think they are concentrating more so on long island and northern NJ, alot of new upgraded sites have popped up in those locations.
  10. As long as it's on the run, and not taken and kept...lol gotta love that extra o..just feels so right!
  11. I had to take a trip to midtown and start mapping, it looks like the signal is coming from a tower near 33rd street btwn Madison and 5th Ave, I had strong signal around that area, and was able to map from 23rd street and Madison upto 36th street and around back to 5th ave..Happy to see this section lit up...but I do loose signal on 6th ave and 37th.
  12. Im curious about signal strength..I know that iphone actually shows LTE bars...too bad you cannot map on sensorly
  13. Im fine in the bronx now, but was in Dyckman uptown Manhattan last night and was unable to browse with LTE, had to switch to CDMA as well.
  14. Im pretty sure im on the east coast, and its 12am here LOL!
  15. Dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that speed at all at this point, and I believe most users will not be able to discern the difference between 9mbs and 50mbs in real world use RIGHT NOW. But as time passes requirements change, I would shoot myself if I were still on my 7mb DSL (I have 100mb cable now)
  16. If it happened today, not really..2 years from now when our phones are streaming 4k video and streaming high quality games maybe having 20megs+ with low latency wouldnt hurt. Also from a marketing standpoint, would definitely make sprints job a bit easier.
  17. Thats why tri band (in your case 800Mhz 1x/LTE) will be key to sprints success.
  18. The general consensus and testing seem to peg Clears 2500 LTE at an avg speed of about 60Mps and peaks around 100mps, so that scalable backhaul will be key to that deployment once they start sharing sites.
  19. Backhaul or the lack thereof seems to be the main culprit for most of the delays.
  20. Somewhere on the forum it was mentioned that NV is 100% financed, so the fact that its taking as long as it is has nothing to do with finance but rather red tape!
  21. A simple toggle of airplane mode should do the trick. One thing I will say is that signal strength is very weak in that area. Thats probably why your not switching to LTE automatically. If you walk east towards park you will notice it will switch LTE. There are a couple of sites in that area that have yet to go live or are still in testing so give it a bit more time to stabilize.
  22. FINALLY!!! We can start to look forward to our triband future with SOFTBANK! http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/sprint-and-clearwire-agree-to-increased-acquisition-offer.htm?view_id=8204
