  1. The real question is, how was the B41 coverage from this one tower?
  2. Yeah I think your right MS is Tuesday, but I do remember at one point Google being a bit more consistent with the day of updates, seems now to be more random..
  3. There is no telling your sure, but this week could very well be possible. Typically updates come on Tuesdays from Google, not sure if that also applies for hardware firmware updates as well..
  4. For you GS5 guys, I'll just put this here.....
  5. Here we go again.... http://androidspin.com/2014/05/19/android-4-4-3-soon-internal-build-existence-leaked/ Also, looks like the the new GS5 leaked with 4.4.3...
  6. If your profile is correct and you have an iPhone 5S, unfortunately that phone does not support B41 which is how we achieve those blazing fast speeds. On the bright side, it does support B26, which is still limited in NYC. But, I'm pretty sure they will pick up the pace on that band since it requires very little to get it up and running on current sites.
  7. The difference is the G2 gets it everywhere, my N5 does not pick up B41 at all..
  8. I experienced this very same thing today on a LG G2, seems like airplane mode toggle sped up the scan. I have a sneaking suspicion B26 with lack of eCSFB might be causing some weirdness..
  9. Went on a small field trip with my girls G2, from 33rd st park ave walked across to 5th ave, then down to 23rd st, then 8th ave, walked back up to 42nd and 8th held a B41 connection through 90% of the walk. (Had two occasions of weird Hand offs, which left me with no data for about 20 seconds then shunted me to 3G, quick airplane mode toggle put me back on B41) Then walked into the 42nd st train station, perfect hand off from B41 to B25 underground. Throughout the whole walk, averaged just over 25/mb sec. Once everything is in place and tuned properly (maybe a radio revision for the odd hand offs) This network will be unstoppable! Personally getting tired of waiting on Google to release the update for the N5, as more B25 towers come online its becoming more and more difficult for the N5 to connect to any B41 no matter what radio version im on.
  10. I guess because im on .15 radio which holds LTE like a beast, i dont see it roam to Verizon..
  11. Multiple antennas underground to cover each station, its being built out by transit wireless in conjunction with all the major carriers. So the connection is perfectly stable because your standing very close to the antennas.
  12. That was my thought exactly...Signal definitely came from a distance considering the open air of the west side hwy and weak signal..
  13. B25, capacity is not an issue underground, I get about 15mb/sec in most stations at all times.
  14. Connected to B26 by 10th st on the west side hwy, weak signal but good speeds between 8-12mb sec. @ about -100dBm
  15. Ive had great success underground in midtown, at least 10 stations with excellent service..
  16. There is also another option in the settings menu that's LTE only as well, and has caused some confusion.
  17. On a N5 its *#*#4636#*#* on dialer click phone information scroll down to set preferred network type and select LTE only..
  18. Right...I was thinking EVDO vs 800 LTE, which are closer in signal strength (with a slight edge to B26)
  19. There's a bunch of variables to take into account (capacity, obstruction etc..) I have been on both side of the spectrum (no pun intended) In north jersey once clocking in over 20mb/sec with a -115dBm signal on B25 vs barely 1meg here in NYC with a -60dBm signal. So a B26 signal of just over -100dBm, might work with the right combination of other sites and bands to offload to. In a perfect scenario of course..
  20. i just hope he is forcing it properly, and not just enabling LTE only on the settings menu (which im sure was pointed out before), that does cause some confusion.
  21. There is no situation where a GS4 will pick up LTE where the N5 cannot...unless its a eCSFB issue, and forcing it would alleviate that..
  22. But you don't need to "HOPE" you can confirm it yourself. Have you tried forcing "LTE ONLY" mode???
  23. I don't know for a fact that it would still cause issues after you disable the band. But it seems in your case it could still be causing unforeseen issues. But again, its simple to test, just try to force LTE only mode to confirm that is indeed the issue. Also, about the N5 having the best radio, it's a general consensus observed by pretty much every other member of S4GRU thus far. (radio .15 does amplify that lead in performance.)
