  1. I have not had any issues with degraded video performance, I use Aereo, Netflix, Plex youtube etc...
  2. Look at the details in speedtest, compared to the time on the top right hand corner (7:12pm vs 10:47pm). I took the screen cap when I got home.
  3. This could be like the youtube app, which disables HD over 3G no matter what 3G speeds are like. Maybe forces lower quality over Mobile data connection.
  4. If its in the bronx, its most likely Lightpath Cablevision..
  5. Got this while eating at a restaurant on times sq indoors! Looks like proper backhaul is in place! Streets were packed!
  6. with .15 radio difference is -10 and -12dBm, with .23 its -5 and -8dBm.
  7. Yes, the G2's camera is pretty great! probably the best I've ever used on a smart phone. But the one on the N5 is no slouch.
  8. First obvious one... RF Performance, sitting on my desk, i get -80dBm LTE, the Nexus holds onto LTE like there's no tomorrow, I even find that voice does a better job.. LG G2 -90dBm LTE same location Bluetooth stack, My Nexus 5 is 100% stable using Audio over BT, quality is near perfect! and Text displays properly across all apps, Spotify, G Music, Pandora etc LG G2 Constantly clipped the audio, would sound fine for a little while but eventually would sound horrible, distorted and a bit out of phase. Almost as if the volume was over amplified. Plus text didn't work on any of the cars I tried. It would display the first couple of letters then cut off.. Button layout is optimal, Nexus is just the right height, just the right width. LG G2's rear buttons seem novel, but that's as far as that goes, got annoying after a day of use.. Even though the battery on the LG is larger, and in theory should last longer, in real world I find the difference in battery life to be negligible. But once I loaded Franco Kernel with a couple of tweaks it was no contest. (Im sure the G2 has some decent kernels, but nothing like the N5 community has put out) Software out of the box, Stock android vs LG UI....nuff said.. Granted, the LG does have a slightly punchier screen(some say over-saturated), and a better camera. On paper, G2 seems like the clear winner, but unfortunately, its software and radio performance drags it down. BIG TIME! Hopefully the new KK update will help address some of these software concerns..
  9. I got to play with the G2 for a few days, and I can tell you with confidence! No way I would change this phone for the G2. For many reasons... Just load up .15 radio, and go have some fun!
  10. People tend to forget that the N5 still has the newest version of android, and it will continue to have the newest version going forward. When we do get 4.4.3, everyone else will be playing catch up once again..
  11. 37.5mb/ sec maximum, same as band 25, but since the concentration of band 26 enabled devices is much smaller than band 25, you will not only see better coverage, but also better speeds than band 25.
  12. Anything over 37.5/mb sec(band 25 is limited to that maximum) is going to be band 41 "spark" Also, just to be clear, "spark" is LTE, its just sitting on a different band that has a lot more spectrum available 5x5 FDD(band 25) vs 20Mhz TDD(band 41)
  13. Nothing like popping that B41 cherry! Welcome to the club!!!
  14. Hopefully upgrades are happening, maybe B26/B41...Have you seem any permits for B41 on sprint sites?
  15. We arent too sure about that, especially when my results are wildly different from his... take a look http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1901-network-visionlte-new-york-city-market/?p=296195 In addition... This was yesterday during rush hour on 34th street Herald Sq, this area turns most carriers into mincemeat.. My co workers phones ATT Note 2 DL .02mb sec/UL 1.8mb Verizon iphone 4S (No AWS support, I do know its FAST in this are) DL .05mb sec/UL .9mb sec T mobile Nexus 5 DL 6mb sec/UL 15mb sec Sprint B25 DL .01mb sec/UL .5mb sec and B41!! Kinda nice to have access to all the major carriers...
  16. With a band 25 only device yes, but armed with a triband phone, its a whole different story.
  17. I seriously doubt that! a point upgrade for just the camera...There is a laundry list of bugs that need squashing, not just updating for camera.
  18. Damn! you had an extended battery on the HTC One Max! Jez! I am also a very heavy user, but i am generally happy with a 4hr screen on time. They do have a ton of extended battery cases for the N5, but i enjoy the form factor too much to give it up so easily..
  19. I absolutely love my N5, and would not trade it for anything currently out in the market!! I just loaded up Franco kernel and did some tweaks my battery life has improved two folds! (about 22hrs) Google really hit a homerun with the Nexus 5, it truly lives up to its reference design status..
  20. Hit my fastest speeds ever in the Bx, by webster ave...
  21. This is a bug, the icon just gets stuck in mid scan.
  22. haha nice! welcome to the triband game!
  23. Have you tried restarting your phone, a lot of times your phone software might inhibit speeds. Also, could be a non upgraded backhaul site.. I have a buddy of mine that wakes up at 6am and gets nearly 80/mb sec. Then ends up around 10mb/sec during the day. But if you average 5mb second indoors I think that's pretty good! and some other markets (cough* cough* Robert) would die for those speeds in any instance, let alone indoors.
  24. Here are some more of my results from Flat Iron..
