  1. Your seeing much faster speeds and lower signal because you most likely are connecting to band 41 which is the super high speed stuff. It is almost always weaker signal but always a lot faster! Once that signal is super weak the phone will try to fall back to the slower bands with stronger signal. Bars are super deceptive with a triband device, almost always lower signal means faster speeds in a mature market with Band 41 available.
  2. For those using signal check in the Northern NJ market, FYI GCI starting with 018xxxxx Band 25/26 019xxxxx Sprint Band 41 030xxxxx Clear Band 41 I know mike is updating the app to display the correct band info, but this should help in the interim.
  3. Where do I start.... Let me just go ahead and say it.....8T8R is LIVE! ALL OVER THE NJ TURN PIKE...FROM G DUB all the way down by HOLLAND n 1 and 9. B41 all the way thru! Bounced between Clear B41 and Sprint B41, it was pretty EPIC!
  4. Boys and Girls! we have 8t8r lift off!!! I bumped into at least 10 8t8r sites ALIVE and KICKING! My home site is already broadcasting! Speeds were hovering between 20-30mb on all sites!
  5. Simple B25 saturation! Im pretty sure they connected to only B25. Right now its already a different story, with NY speeds being excellent!
  6. Moto X, was a great device, and its kinda sad that the 2nd gen never made it on sprint, don't think Nexus 6 is targeted at the same crowd.
  7. Nexus 4 was never top range, there were phones with faster procs, better camera's, better battery same concept with Nexus 5, people generally considered it a cheaper version of the G2 etc.. Nexus devices have always made great reference designs, but they have never been top of the line. Unlike this device that has top notch specs including a new CPU/GPU highest res, more ram. bigger battery, better materials, bigger speakers. its almost in a class of its own.
  8. Has anyone one noticed that the iPhone 6+ 64gb is $849, $649 for top range hardware really doesn't seem too unreasonable. The N4 and 5 were always considered midrange phones at excellent pricing and as good as those devices were, they were always one step behind top end phones.
  9. Definitely a buzz kill, but still would be the go-to device under contract. I was going to post my G3 today on ebay, but almost same specs as G3 and no Sprint CA support makes me think twice.
  10. In some elevators and deep inside certain places it will drop, but in everyday typical use, my phone switches back to LTE almost instantaneously. They are definitely optimizing everyday... Also, I still have a Nexus 5 in the family, it really cant compare to the performance of the G3 in terms of scan times.
  11. Ive read 24hrs, do you mean under heavy use... Typical android phones last about 2-3hrs of screen on time. So 9.5hrs of actual screen on time would be pretty epic!
  12. Time to use that upgrade I got rollin around...LOL
  13. But its still smaller than an Iphone 6+ and the screen is .4 bigger.. Go figure..
  14. This sounds like carrier pricing. For whatever reason the carriers always charge more than Google would in its own store. Did Google announce pricing yet?
  15. Time to wake this thread up from the dead! Just drove by Jersey City off Palisades ave, and connected to not only Clear B41, but also Sprint B41 8t8r! There is still one pesky site I drive by on a regular basis near new york ave that's on Legacy hardware, but there has been a ton of progress.
  16. One thing I must say, I no longer drop to 3G. I haven't seen 3G in quite a while in either the Bronx or Manhattan.

    LG G3

Finally a rom for our phone... http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/development/ablaze-rom-v1-0-0-t2904707
  18. Connected to more 8t8r in Times sq, I think someone else had already connected to one of the sites there, regardless, Here is confirmation...
  19. From about a block away yesterday afternoon speeds were in the high 20's. But, one thing that did impress me was how it kept about the same speed even 5-6 blocks away from the site, at about -110dBm speeds were still in the lower 20's and upper teens. Pretty awesome.
  20. This is on 65th off of broadway... Live 8t8r..
  21. Awesome to see that Nethgear in action. Try ookla speedtest, tends to be a bit more accurate due to closer servers. that ping time is definitely not quite right.
  22. Cool thread, my ISP and my Sprint speeds are almost equal... Cablevision 60/30 Sprint (B41) 30/15 peak times 45/15 off-peak
