  1. Just picked this Lil puppy for my mother in law and her data usage shot up 10 folds, went from 1gb month average to 11gb so far. She had an LG single band device before. Also did RF comparison with my G3, it definitely performed better, 2-3dbm better on every band. Also held the connection better. That is saying a lot, I consider the G3 one of the better RF performing devices out there.
  2. No mention of device or versions. Unfortunately for Sprint, some devices perform much worse than others. S5 being at the bottom of the group. I would have figured a more neutral device like a Nexus 5 made more sense. Even tho there are superior RF performing devices on sprint.
  3. I would love to see there testing parameters, locations, devices firmwares etc..
  4. Doesn't rootmetrics use crowd sourced data? If that is indeed the case, these numbers are including the high percentage of single band devices still in circulation. Which in turn are dragging the average score down by quite a bit. That would also explain why Sprint has more wins in less urban environments where 5x5 B25 is sufficient. I do not think Sprint needs to necessarily have 3 Carriers to trump the other wireless companies, what they need to do is get tri band devices in more hands, and keep moving forward on 8t8r installs as quickly as possible, even if the backhaul wont allow full throughput (5mbs vs .5mbs user experience is night and day)
  5. I don't know when these test were conducted and if there all triband devices but, here in NYC sprint got destroyed according to rootmetrics, but fortunately the reality is completely the opposite armed with triband device. Its triband or go home!
  6. Hit some more 8t8r off 145th street off Harlem River Dr.
  7. Already fixed! https://code.google.com/p/android-developer-preview/issues/detail?id=189#c98
  8. Your sitting in a massive non LTE hole, until those sites get upgraded. Its most likely some logistical hurtles they have not been able to overcome. The sites are there, they just need to be completed. But who knows what could be the hold up, and how long it would take.
  9. Looks like your in a dead zone for sure, what device do you currently have? If its the note 3, its probably not helping the situation.
  10. I will try to get more shots as they resemble a bunch of sprint sites I've taken shots of before (Except the one on the left!). But then again, this location does not show up on the deployment maps, so your probably correct. There is a site showing up within 300ft of this one on the deployment maps. So I assumed the GPS coordinates were off by a bit.
  11. Found some more 8t8r equipment in the Bronx by Claremont park while jogging. Site was not live. Excuse the obstruction but that was the best I could capture from the park at that height.
  12. Except if you live in a totally mature B41 deployed market where Sprint is not only competitive, but handily beats ATT, Tmobile and matches Verizon (and surpass them once B41+CA phones become commonplace.) I do agree with you on the 3G sentiment for the most part, but in a place where the network is mostly deployed, 3G really isn't much of an issue. Same goes for eCSFB, it becomes an issue of the past once everything is deployed (like in NYC) and optimized properly. Hopefully this stuff happens all over the US sooner than later.
  13. PLMN is 310 120 so yes Sprint B41, also your signal is very weak but your still getting good speeds. Power of B41.
  14. Drove up 3rd ave from 40th st till 125th st and picked up more live 8t8r Sprint B41 On 78th street, 89th street (looks like same site but switched sectors) and 103rd street, all three sites averaged between 15-35mbs.
  15. "Samsung Galaxy Note Edge From Sprint With 2.5GHz LTE Comes With The Ability To Double Your High-Speed Data" FINALLY!!! A Device with Carrier Aggregation support!!!!
  16. I have a G3, and its radio is superior to the Nexus 5 with latest radio. It would sadden me to hear that the Note 4's RF performance leaves something to be desired.
  17. Cannot account for indoor performance, but outdoor should be solid LTE almost everywhere in NYC, except small pockets.
  18. What device do you have? Most of NYC is bathed in B41, so many places can achieve these speeds during off peak hours.
  19. Looks like my local B41 8t8r site just got provisioned for faster backhaul! Speeds are CRAZY! Peaked at around 80! settled at this....
  20. Every Sprint device released 2014 and on is triband including the Note 4. Backhaul (High speed internet) is provided by a third party that services the area with high speed fiber or equivalent connections to the Sprint tower.
  21. 6mb is good for almost anything on the web. Indoors its much harder to get a signal. You dont have access to Wifi? Can you post a screen shot of your engineering screen? Band 26 is still making the rounds, so you still have a change of getting better performance out of that band or even Band 41 if it can penetrate through the building your in.
  22. Indoors is a lot more complicated, different obstacles can affect signal significantly. Outdoors you should see better performance. Also the fact that you pick up LTE is always a good sign, can you verify whether its B25 or B26?
