  1. The current Band 41 sites are previous Clearwire Wimax sites that were converted to LTE Band 41. But sprint is currently overlaying all of there own sites with new Band 41, as Tim mentioned, that equipment is still offline until they do a mass activation. That should fill in the areas we are currently missing B41...
  2. Its the one patch that doesn't have much Clear B41. I cannot give you specifics because its sitting in the premiere section of the site. But Sprint B41 should be part of that patch...
  3. Tim, Clear B41 is in most areas of NYC, and it is difficult to miss it. Even without the use of 8t8r its pretty impressive. But of course there are area's that do not have any B41, but they are few and far between.
  4. I should have included "and" after "area"... Also, yes, the GS5 is probably the worst of all the next gen devices, coming from an iphone i would have gone with the M8. It is a considerately better device in everyway than the sub par GS5..
  5. I travel all over the city to do IT work, mostly in the midtown area between Chinatown and 59 st. There is soo much B41, I tend to be on B41 about 80% of the time around those areas. One thing you must take into account is the simple fact that the Band 41 does not penetrate as well as B25 (for now, until the 8t8r antennas are powered up) So your mileage will vary indoors. But outdoors, im almost always on B41.
  6. Don't fret, Manhattan has massive amounts of B41, no need to chase it. In fact, looks like some more clear sites that were missing eCSFB came online last few days.. BTW, B26 is in a massive amount of places, they just lack optimization. So with time that will change..
  7. Quick and dirty way to tell if your connecting to B41 using signal check, pay attention to the GCI, if it starts with 02 in our market designates Clear Band 41.
  8. Funny that you ask, I was just in penn station last week, and it was in one word...horror. I was trying to get together with a buddy of mine underground and we decided to meet in front of Friday's. Unfortunately for us, there are two Friday's (why i have no idea!!) in Penn station. So while he sat waiting for me at one, I stood at the other for at least 10-15 minutes before realizing we are in different locations. He personally has ATT, and his service was just as bad if not WORSE than mine. Needless to say, we missed our trains to south jersey because of the lack of communication. On a more positive note, I don't think service is far off, as most midtown stations now host voice and data services. But if your main point of use is Penn Station, sprint is still a no go....
  9. Yup B26 all over midtown too, Ive picked it up on 37st 5th ave as well for the first time 2 days ago..
  10. My sister owns a Moto X, and she (on sprint mind you, single band) refuses to give it up!! She absolutely loves it! Also, as Robert has stated, the RF performance is solid! B25 is almost on par with .15 N5 radio
  11. The most interesting part of that is the majority of these scores come from B25 only devices. The average speed of a tri band device is quite a bit higher than these numbers suggest. Also as a side note, looks like sprint has already surpassed ATT in Manhattan and certain parts of queens.
  12. The difference between the first round of LTE (Band 25) and the second round (Band 26 and 41) Is specifically for capacity and coverage. The reason that tri band phones can achieve these massive speeds is simple, wider highway lane's. Where band 25 is running on a 5x5Mhz lane, and Band 26 on another 5x5Mhz lane for capacity and more coverage, Band 41 is on a 20Mhz lane (twice as wide, and there adding another 20Mhz before the end of this year) The end result is that all bands complement each other. I do feel your frustration, if your on a single band device and are in a high traffic area, (like anywhere in Manhattan) it can be pretty bad. Sprint does have the 30day trial period so you can give another device a go, and see if it works for you. The one thing I can tell you with certainty, NYC has pretty great Band 41 coverage. So that might solve your problem.
  13. Don't sleep on Motorola.....the Moto X is pretty spectacular, and the Moto 360 looks awesome! 5.9 inch screen is a bit much tho..
  14. I know you have been a member here for quite some time. But rarely post, you should probably take a look at some pages back and see what others have been experiencing. In my area it has gone from slow 3G, to quick 4G to slowing down abit, then after picking up a proper tri band phone to extremely fast speeds! I see you mentioned iphone 5S (that has band 26 support that's being deployed and optimized now). Unfortunately for the GS4 (unless its the spark edition) and the Iphone 5, theyre single band phones. During heavy traffic hours Band 25 can be extremely slow (but I have noticed it speeding up a bit, but nowhere near enough to stream videos) So my only recommendation is you look into picking up a proper tri band phone (no iphones) or hold up till the B26 optimizations are complete. Also, just to give you an idea of what a tri band phone can do, here is my test at home right this moment.
  15. Yes it is possible with a co located site. Meaning they are physically in the same address, but not sharing any resources..
  16. Looks like B41 is getting some optimization love as well! I typically average between -100 and -115dBm on B41 inside my apartment. Today I saw that signal strength jump -10dBm. Speeds went from 20-35 to about 35-50mbs. Loving this optimization stage.
  17. I have a Homerun HD and its pretty terrific. It now supports DLNA, so you could potentially stream to any device that currently has DLNA support. But, it would depend on your cable provider not flagging channels. Typically, the paid channels are flagged.. If you really want to get crazy...
  18. Took the NJ south coast train over the weekend, and found a ton of B26 sites!! Newark, Elizabeth, Woodbridge, South Amboy, Middletown and Spring Lake.
  19. Another B26 site just went live by my apt! Also, I finally get LTE in the lobby of my apartment building (Optimized B26 went from -120 to -110dBm) and inside my elevator!
  20. I believe that could be Sprints big competitive edge! No matter what device and how many users. All phones with CA support would be big!

    LG G3

Do you get an LTE signal there?

Its funny....I notice that when its on wifi calling phone radio is disabled. But....when I do send sms it briefly connects to send the SMS/MMS then reconnects to wifi only, so yes, it does work.
