MarshieZ
Again it's hard for me to keep up with everyone, so if this has been discussed please let me know. If not, I was feeling "rebellious" and decided to go through the Sprint site's forums. Mostly because I wanted to see how misinformed people are, but I cam across this forum in particular: https://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/159596?start=15&tstart=0 We all know an existing Sprint customer can't join forces with another, but they state if you change your address you can be accepted in? Did anyone know about this and/or has anyone attempted to do this? I ask because my mom's boss actually switched to Sprint from Verizon to start a Framily, well my mom and I both have accounts through Sprint and if this would work we could than get a Framily of 6!! From what I read, even Sprint Care is okay with doing it??
eljayyy91
Me and my mom actually did this. Because I moved home with her for a couple months to save some money and I called Sprint and asked and it was kind of a pain but I ended up getting them to do it. It took 5 business days for them to merge but it got done.
tampaflusa
That's what my wife and I did. We changed our address to the address of the framily account holder we wanted to join then changed it back a couple days later. My wife and I went from just two in a framily plan to 10 in the new one. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
doakills
I did it. After spamming there twitter and support lines. The main supervisor called me from Kansas city and set it up. Switched my address to a po box # added my other account to my framily plan and was done. They also gave me credit for all my trouble and waived fees. Took my bill from 235 to 165.
peteyz24
I just do not understand why existing customers have to jump through hoops to join together in framily plans. Why would a person like myself with one line start a framily to get absolutely zero discount? We are customers not sales agents.
burnout8488
Most people with single line plans DO get a discount by creating a 1-member framily. SERO members won't, but anyone else most likely would. It makes sense why they don't want hoards of existing Sprint customers converting their accounts to Framily. 1) Framily is meant as a way to refer new lines to Sprint 2) Customers locked into a contract would be liable for much less money to Sprint over the life of their contract. If Sprint already has people locked in for 2 years at a high rate, why would they want to get rid of that?
MarshieZ
So if my mom and I were to go to our normal rep and asked her to switch us over she'd do it no problem?
JWMaloney
Some accounts are eligible for what is called "Framily merge" and will be able to join an existing Framily. You can call Sprint Care to see if the offer is available on your account. Generally, it will be available if all of your lines are out of contract.
Calvin200
Bringing this thread alive. Do people have to move to the house of the creater of the Framily plan or just anyone on the plan?

Did anyone know about this and/or has anyone attempted to do this? Couldn't anyone just put any address to lower their bill? For example, each state has different amounts of wireless tax. Or do you have to prove you live in the address listed?
joshuam
Bringing this thread alive. Do people have to move to the house of the creater of the Framily plan or just anyone on the plan? I think Framily is 100% dead now, so no more changes.
bkco14
So if I already have a line on there, I can't add my child on there?

bkco14
I talked to a sprint rep who said you can't add it online, but you will need to add it on a new plan and then call in and they can move it over. Is that not right?
burnout8488
I believe you can still add brand new lines to Framily plans for non-existing customers. But, I've heard it must be done in-store. Reps usually don't mind because they get a cut for creating a new line.

They have to manually do everything though including payment since it's all blocked on the reps end.

jf15219
Just post to reddit. Just had a spot open up and it was filled within 24hrs. https://www.reddit.com/r/SprintFramily/ I have no interest in using a reddit. What I do have interest in is referring people and how to instruct store employees who are often clueless about old plans. For example, a store just told me that I can only add people to a Framily if they are added to my account which, if I understand correctly is false and an indefensible answer from an employee. You get cheapy phones, activate those, get them on Framily, then do a transfer of liability to those you referred to Sprint. Then they can get the phones they want on Easy Pay or Lease. The other way is the store employee can call in and if they get the right rep, they can place those people on your Framily with no issue. The first way I mentioned takes about 15 minutes longer to do. This was what I was told by a Sprint rep who is very good at her job, and I wish she was the store manager, because I've met managers stupider than her. Calvin200
Less than a month they said it was still possible. Imagine the reaction of a Framily member if a group of 7 left a plan and their unlimited goes from $45 to $80 (I believe that is the top price) and not be able to bring their plan price back down. That being said, I wonder how they would end it. I would suggest a warning, closing off new enrollments, and locking them into their current price.
