It stands for enhanced circuit switch fallback. For phones with one radio, it needs it to trigger your phone to switch back to 1x for calls or texts when on LTE. I'm sure you can get a better explanation from someone more knowledgeable about this.

The area around my house had problems with eCSFB for months. A lot of calls wouldn't go through (in or out) and some texts were super delayed unless I manually put my phone in cdma mode.

 

Please report that through SprintZone and customer care.

Last Day of WiMAX Service: 2/29/2016

 

We don't have any converted Clearwire to Sprint B41 sites though

I guess that means the second carrier can be fired up even though I see it sometimes

B41 is now available in Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The tower was fired up this morning.

I'm in Ohau/Honolulu for four days. First day so far good experience B41 at Airport and to my hotel I was on B41 or B25.

 

Inside my hotel I'm sitting on 3 Bars of LTE band 41 getting faster speeds than the hotel wifi.

 

Sprint has improved so much [emoji854]

I am visiting Big Island for 2 weeks, end of April/first of May. It appears only 3 towers for 4G on the island. Does anyone know of any work south of Kailua or south of Hilo around Pahoa?

Not in the near future. Some of that, probably at least 20Mhz still needs to be used for CDMA. It's not exactly a gain either. Just shifting PCS blocks to align the spectrum with the current PCS G block so that the current 5x5 carrier can be expanded in the future. Initially to a 10x10 probably later this year. At some point maybe 15x15. But CDMA would have to be completely shut down to do 20x20.

Band 41 is pretty much sense now but still not really quite available in Wailuku... Yet
