At embarcadero and Folsom muni stop. Pretty sure it's coming from across the bay. I gotta find time to head over there tomorrow. a8y2e4uh.jpg

Awesome. Are you just randomly acquiring b26 or cycling airplane mode? Are you in lte only mode?

Damn East bay b26 might actually be a huge help in sf if this keeps up. North bay and Daly City might help too.

Random acquisition. I did cycle airplane mode to get out of MetroPCS roaming in the market st. tunnel and I picked up B26. When I've picked it up in my apartment, it's been random, no airplane mode needed.

I'm gonna be on a boat cruising around the bay Saturday. Sucks that I'm gonna be watch in my phone the whole time now looking for b26 instead of enjoying the ride! :)

On my morning commute on the T and it looks like we have a 3G cluster launch in parts of SOMA! All my normal sites on the ride are now broadcasting NID 231 and squaking correct location coordinates! Details on sites coming soon in sponsor section.

EDIT: This is much bigger than I thought! Now I'm getting 1x800 in my office on Market!

Well testing is certainly better than the nothing we had before :)

If anything we'll see it being "accepted" tomorrow or day after tomorrow.

Last night testing = nothing at 4th and King. Couldn't get any data to hail a Lyft or Uber. Had to take a taxi.

Yep. I had no data or voice at home or in the store last night at 4th and King. It seemed...oddly reckless? It seems like they really took down every site around at once. I thought the traffic from Giants fans had broken something.

Reckless, but apparently necessary. Expect that to last about 2 weeks if process is same as in other markets.

Then it's back to normal with no LTE like the quiet before the storm.

Then LTE about 2 weeks later.

Remember. A lot of sites are going to be temp GMOs where they have to cut out power in order to reroute the jumpers to the antennas. Others have legacy jumpers connected to the antennas themselves which require a work crew to unplug and power off legacy and plug in the jumpers and etc to the NV equipment.

Expect absolutely terrible performance, reception, and data for at least a few days to a week as they get things fired up.

Good to know! Things have been moving very quickly very suddenly, last night must have been hell if you were a Sprint customer trying to do anything in SF. Looking forward to the future though, this is massive progress.

I hope they launch 800LTE right after.

The following currently returns 399 total upgrades, and 379 speed upgrades.

https://network.sprint.com/search/sf/

Hmm, none of the upgrades I noted are on that site yet. Interesting. Sprint moving too quickly for their web team :)

It shows up on the official upgrades map later on after acceptance. Right now they're integrating and testing the new equipment.

I took the 5L down Market today (instead of muni metro) to see how widespread this is and I never dropped off NID 231 going down to Powell and all around the Union Sq. area.

I'm also going into Oakland today for a bit, so I'll see what this LTE 800 business is all about if I can find any.

Yep.  We have to wait for the people who fired up sites turn in their paperwork to corporate.  So formal acceptances typically follow the day after integration teams are at the site.

One last report before I go to bed. I was getting some dinner in the mission at Valencia and 15th and was also getting NID231. Hope the next acceptance report shows the whole cluster launching.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
