The metro area build feels like its taking ages :P

My phone has been really random. The clock has been changing on its own like crazy with incorrect time( I know it receives the current date and time from the tower) and when I set the time zone manually it still shows the incorrect time. I also believe the battery on my GS3 is toast, the phone is randomly powering off with a significant amount of juice left. I think I'll be visiting a sprint store soon...

Spare batteries aren't very expensive online, I've had zero issues with automatic time in the metro area on my EVO 4G LTE. Saw some LTE today while eating at the strip mall next to Suchville but signal strength was weaker than at home (sub 1Mb speeds).

Is anyone having dropped call issues this week at isla verde? Unusable service, dropped calls, missed calls people telling me that they can't get thru, late messaging... Is it the service or the phone (gs3) already resetted device to factory settings.

Anyone???

sprint is working on the antennas on carolina

it takes too long, they have varoius reasons:

1. they have more sites in metro than the rest of the island

2. in metro they have more calls, text and data trafic than the rest of the island

3. in metro we have more buildings, so more dificult to test and to oficcialise the updates

and many mores.

in Carolina, we have LTE (not officialy), and EHRPD, but i take the trujillo antenna, just appear the EHRPD and the data speed is awful...

Hi, I live in Guaynabo (no LTE, yet), but on Friday, February 15 2013, I went to Plaza Carolina, near Sears store, and I was surprised as my SGS3 was on 4G. Made a speedtest and got 9 MB downloading and 10 MB uploading, just to let you know. Hope to see some improvement near San Juan and Guaynabo soon.

They have been doing some work for sure on St. Croix. There was a partial outage last week and sprint customer service told me it was noted that upgrades were in progress. After the outage we are experiancing a much stronger signal! I have service in places I didnt before. Just waiting for that 4G symbol to lite up now and I'll be happy! I can finally shut those AT&T people up! :-)

You got 18mbps during the day or at night.

..after 1in the AM my 3g stays at 1 - 1.8 mbps.

Thanks for the update. These sites are still In Progress and not accepted yet. So they probably will not perform better yet.

That's my bad....I wanted to say1.8 mbps. I got that both day and night at the south east tower

LOL, You almost made me choke on my drink what you said 18mbps. I told myself that has got to be a typo, hell I even stared at it for a while looking the decimal between the 1 and the 8. So how are your speeds during the daytime and if you visit a site again, is there anyway you can take a pic and post it?

I'll check again tomorrow. Sorry for the typo!

    • What device is that on?
    • Been in Japan for the past few days, and I'm about to leave today. Google Fi/Tmus roaming in Japan only had Softbank LTE, so it was pretty slow in busy areas, especially HND (albeit usable in most places). When I got to Osaka, I bought a KDDI native SIM from Aerobile, which is an esim reseller based in Taiwan. With this au/KDDI SIM, I could get NR, and that really improved the network experience here. Even though my phone is missing many ENDC combos here, having b1 + n77 or b3 + n77 or b41 + n78 really helps out with the congested LTE network here. As a bonus, 4cc n257 also works on my s24, and I've reached peaks of 2gbps with it. I'm heading to China today, so hopefully Google Fi supports 5G on whatever carrier they roam on in the mainland. If not, I'll probably be stuck on congested LTE like the first couple of days in Japan.
    • Mike, I just noticed on my S22 Ultra when connected to Verizon n261 SCP is reporting it as n257. I don't see mmwave very often and I didn't notice it at the time I was connected to it. Not sure if it matters but I'm on Visible.
    • Here's my personal best, as well as the maximum speed I was able to get over 5gbps USB tethering. Millimeter wave is definitely a lot of fun, and I wish AT&T and T-Mobile would deploy a lot more of it.
