on the 11th of march the tower on 441 an glades in boca raton had a rope attached to the tower but the next day it was gone an i didn't notice anything different on the tower so today there was a Crain near the tower an again i didn't see anything different on the tower. my question is why there was a Crain next to the tower but nothing looked different. im not saying sprint was working on it but this is twice in a week that there was something going on with the tower but nothing seemed to happen???

They're messing with you.

But really, it could be prep work, adding an additional holder(s) for more panels that wouldn't necessarily visible, maintenance, nothing Sprint related, any number of things. Without pictures and seeing the guys working on it, it's hard to say anything about it.

Cranes are also used to drop in cabinets as well. Personally I am seeing many more towers sites with active 4g than what's represented on the acceptance reports here. I believe Miami / West Palm area may just be behind on inspections. I have seen several nearby sites upgraded to 4g.

Has anyone been having problems with their devices constantly changing from 3G to O during peek hours; 6PM - 10PM? I've notice this happening more often in the last past few weeks. Is this due to a lack of EVDO carriers?

This has been happening to me for a couple weeks now.

I swear my iPhone 4s is unusable (Facebook, IG, Safari) if i'm not on wifi. Sprint 3G is more like EDGE lol.

the tower off 441 an glades boca raton is being worked on again. i was driving home for my break an noticed guys climbing the tower. so this is now the 4th time this tower being worked on. maybe its down???

i drove by the tower to see what the guys had done cause its raining now so they left. what they did so far was build a platform right below the pannels. i guess they put the platforms there so that they can take the pannels off an put the new ones on with no problems but thats my assumption. if i get the chance tomorrow ill ask the guys what they are upgrading

I had to turn off lte on my iPhone. This has been happening often on sites broadcasting lte. post-2565-13636333718632_thumb.jpg

3G ping time are surprisingly fast (under 200 most of the times) but download and upload speeds are still unusable which is to be expected since the market is nowhere near complete.

I've gotten 4G twice in Coral gables, first time I wasn't really sure where I was, but this time I just got it from work. I'm around 26th street and S. Lejeune. I haven't seen anything on the map recently to indicate of a tower in progress, or any completed towers here in Coral Gables. -Luis

I dont have my gs3 cuase it was stolen so i dont know if lte is up an running. I will be getting a new phone this weekend so ill do tests when i can.

Seems like the tower on 168st and US1 is going live. mapped a bunch, and been getting LTE from near my window of my room.

Once they have LTE 800mhz, and handsets to support it. It will be awesome. Though honestly I wish it was the Key Biscayne tower so i can have access at work instead.

So NV Sites Complete was just updated and there were 7 towers in 2 weeks. I wonder what has happened...

There are quite a few Miami market sites I need to add. I'm way behind.

Alright thanks for the info, of course we understand. I have a question:

In my aunt's house in Hialeah (around W 60th St and W 18th Ave) Sprint service has been atrocious (no bars and around -103 dbm) for the past year, making the 3G unusable to pull up even the simplest of webpages and calls dropping etc. However, last weekend I was there and I noticed I had 4 bars and I checked and it was at -76 dbm which certainly surprised me. Today I also visited and again 4 bars and around 75 dbm. So it looks that Sprint service has improved SIGNIFICANTLY and it seems its going to stay. Now my question is, what could have made such a significant increase in signal strength? There haven't been any 3G/4G towers accepted near this place that would provide an increase to the signal (as I have read 3G signal improves with NV, but anyways, isnt it only like 6 dbm or something?). What could have made the signal indoors to go from -103 to -76 ??

First thing comes to my mind with such a huge improvement is whether or not a new cell site was built but I checked on network.sprint.com to see if a new cell site was displayed on the map but didn't see anything. I do see that two of the closest towers have had work completed in the last six months. Data Speed Upgrades. It's possible NV work could have been completed on either of those sites and just not reported to Robert as yet. But that is a huge increase in coverage. Was the signal recorded 1x or EVDO? If it was just 1x maybe your site is broadcasting 800 MHz CDMA??

Finally the in progress site on Sunrise Blvd and Hiatus finally broadcasting LTE. Checked Sprint's site and noticed the site received another Data Speed Upgrade and certain enough when I drove by today it was on. Here is a screen shot of a quick speed test.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
