The most usable benefit of rooting note 2, is using multiview with any/all apps.

LTE engineering split screened with Sensorly or Google map of all area sites is an awesome thing.

My battery life on the Note 2 has been about the following for a full day (about 16 hours, 7AM - 11PM): Virtually no usage...about 70% battery remaining Light usage...about 55% battery remaining

Well its been one hell of a ride with my old phone and waiting for the Note 2.   I bought 2 Notes at the end of Oct and was hoping they would arrive before my vacation, but due to the storm they did

Rooted mine today using qbking77 video. I think with his video a 5 year old could do it was that easy and used his video on free WiFi tether by trev e (I believe) . Thinking about using digi ROM now haven't decided yet. I'm happy with performance as is now so no rush.

The biggest benefit of rooting your Note 2 is to be able to use the DigiblurROM. You can install PRL files on the fly.

Pretty easy.  Follow QBKing's excellent video:  http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969947

 

Of course the versions have changed, but grab the latest Note2 toolkit and it's so easy.  The video walks you right on through.  Pick the MA7 build in the Note2 toolkit, it works fine on MC2.  Then after that flash you a MC2 ROM with TWRP.

 

To return to factory, 100% stock, with write counter set back to 0, if you do decide to do a repair/exchange then here it is:

OK...I have a driver install failure after running Odin. Says "adbd is already running as root/error: device not found:. Plus, I have a system window that popped up saying "Device driver was not successfully installed"/"MTP USB device Xfailed".

 

Any ideas?

Reinstall the drivers with no phone hooked up then maybe plug into other usb port

Alright...got that to work, but when it started the root process, it showed 8 things that failed and continued until finished. Then it went back to the main menu with out giving the "YOU HACKED IT!" message. What the hell is going on?? :P

 

Also, no titanium backup listed in the apps menu.

Just super user is listed.

 

Actually if I do the vol./power/home button fuction it boots to twrp.

So no recovery? Hmm... I had that issue before I can't remember what fixed it.  I bet the recovery is writing but then the stock ROM overwrites the recovery again.  

 

Let's just jump to the chase:

extract the self extract...  

 

  1. Turn off Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
  2. Press and hold down Volume Down + Home + Power buttons at the same time.
  3. Press Volume Up button when warning prompt.
  4. SGN2 Odin download mode will be loaded then.

 

Run the extracted file and there ya go.

do i just place all of the zipped files in the TWRP root folder? or do i make a "MC2" folder to put them in?

Just place the zip file on the root of your sd card ,(don't unzip the file) and boot into TWRP and flash the zip..

Do a factory reset wipe in twrp then flash the zip.

 

Always test the zip integrity or match up the md5 using winmd5 before flashing to make sure the whole zip was downloaded right.

      Everything "Uncarrier" is becoming "Carrier" again. Because of the Credit Limit that T-Mobile put on our account for no reason at all (and wouldn't change/update the last time I checked all the way up to the CEO), I don't plan on buying/upgrading our iPhones through T-Mobile. I'm going through Apple directly. Looks like I'll be going through Google and Samsung directly for our other lines for upgrades. Also, we're staying on Sprint Max given the ridiculous pricing for Go5G Plus. On Sprint Max, we currently pay for our Plan: $260 for 7 Voice Lines $25 for two Wearable Lines. (One is $10/Month. The other is $15/Month because the AutoPay discount only applies up to 8 lines.) Total: $285/Month vs. Go5G Plus (Per the Broadband Facts "nutrition label" on the T-Mobile Website): https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce/cell-phone-plans $360 - ($5 AutoPay Discount x 7 Voice Lines) = $325 The Watch Plans show as either $12/Month or $15/Month: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans/smartwatches So this is about the same for the wearables as what we're paying now. Overall, it's quite more than we're paying now to switch plans. Ridiculous....

      I’m surprised they’re running a 5x5 Band 66 carrier still. In NYC T-Mobile has 25x25 AWS and they’re running 20x20 Band 66 and 5x5 n66 (in testing). Presumably when n66 commercially launches they’ll drop Band 66 down to 15x15 and go straight for a 10x10 n66 carrier like they did with n25.

      Austin has now narrowed B2 to 15x15 to support a second 10x10 n25 channel, this time entirely in PCS A-F. So T-Mobile now has 35x35 FD (n71 + n25) and 180 MHz TD (n41) NR live here, and LTE single carrier bandwidth now tops out at 15x15. LTE is down to 5x5 B12, 15x15 B2, 10x10+10x10+5x5 B66, so they now have 5 carriers each of LTE and NR, with 45x45 total LTE.
