MacinJosh
I came down south for the weekend and finally experienced LTE. I'm not going to want to go back to 3g anymore I've taken trips to LA and Wichita, KS and used LTE in both places, and let me tell you, I'm patiently waiting, and have been surviving on 3G. MacinJosh
It's about to happen! The tower on Acequia in Visalia got it's fiber upgrade permit on June 28. And it appears that T-Mobile has applied for a permit on the Caldwell tower that Sprint uses for a swap of their existing antennas. So it appears that Sprint and T-Mobile will both be bringing LTE to Visalia around the same time!
Oedipus
Has AT&T officially launched LTE down there yet? If not, that's imminent too.
MacinJosh
Has AT&T officially launched LTE down there yet? If not, that's imminent too. AT&T launched LTE in Visalia just over a week ago, I believe. If not, it was for sure in the month if June. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
jamesinclair
Where at? You need to be a sponsor to see the map. Right now only in the area where 99 and I-5 meet.

jfern001
Hello everyone. I've been lurking here and finally decided to create an account. I'm excited for Tulare and Visalia getting underway but have any of you guys heard anything about bakersfield recently? I called sprint and told me the there are a few towers testing and that full deployment should arrive next month. I'm taking what they say with a grain of salt because they've been saying that for a couple years now. What do you guys think?
Da_Goo
I regularly drive by quite a few Bakersfield towers on my way to and from the office but have seen no work and no signs of work either...UNTIL TODAY!!!I was super excited to see a crew at the site near Union Ave north of Belle Terrace. Kinda confused as everything I've seen says this site is scheduled for work within the next 6 months and others were supposed to be sooner (within the next 90 days)? AFAIK, none in Bakersfield have been worked on but seems like any day now (cept maybe this one).
Oedipus
If you become a sponsor, you can see not only what towers have been updated in that general area, but also the location of the other towers so that you can keep an eye on their progress. There is activity down there.

Da_Goo
Saw them up on the cherry picker this morning so I took some pictures at Union/Belle Terrace after work, not sure if they changed panels on this today or not...maybe someone more familiar with Samsung Equipment could enlighten us. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fuavd9erxwladia/2013-07-09%2016.52.06.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/sd3j7kgg1hlse9p/2013-07-09%2016.52.11.jpg
Oedipus
No NV hardware there. Here's what you should be looking for: The antenna outlined in red is a "legacy" antenna and the two outlined in yellow are the new NV antennas with 800/1900 RRUs, which you can see behind the panel on the left. Note that there are a total of six wires going into the bottom of the NV antennas. This is probably the easiest way to differentiate Sprint's antennas from other carriers'.
