  1. New carrier settings update yesterday.... anyone see if Sprint 24.2 brings any noticeable changes?
  2. Candor, NY has LTE! This is/was a GMO site, came as a complete surprise to me driving today. Not sure if it went full build or GMO LTE, though. Maybe this is indicative of the start of GMO conversions in the very rural upstate sites. There are a few other sites on rt96 that still need LTE but this is a great start.
  3. If you're @ $30/mo for only 200 minutes, I don't think a Sprint postpaid account is the right way to go. A prepaid carrier would make more sense at this tier if data is not required, and probably cost a little less.
  4. Is there even a plan that lacks data you can switch to? My girlfriend's parents are both on a Framily plan with two flip phones and they still have the 1GB data alloted to them. (Not that they ever use it) I do think you're correct about Sprint not allowing smartphones to only have calling/text, though.
  5. Agreed. I've been counting on the GMO sites to get converted for four years now to no avail. I don't think this market will ever get touched and have been seriously considering ATT or Tmo in September when my contract is up. At this point, it doesn't seem like any movement will ever occur, but I would love to be proven wrong! I'm a huge Sprint fan but as long as I live in this area, it's growing increasingly more difficult.
  6. The coverage map is showing the Rehoboth beach boardwalk site as having LTE and Band 41 installed now. Finally! Can anyone confirm, or is the map exaggerating coverage from the site further West?
  7. Just noticed this last night as well, but I haven't seen any additional charges as a result.
  8. My friend that works at Dover AFB just left for T-Mobile today. I guess I can't blame him, the network needs some time to improve before he'll come back to Sprint. Sucks because now I don't have a contact in DE to see how the network is progressing.
  9. I'm wondering if anything south of Wilmington has even seen any optimization. My friend @ Dover AFB has terrible LTE and he's pretty much line-of-sight to a triband LTE site there. It seems promising that Delaware will get some love this year now that a few random southern sites have finally gotten LTE. Optimization hopefully isn't too far off once a few more of these are lit up. This will be a killer market with B26 turned up due to the flat geography. B41 at the beaches would be nice, but even having B25/26 activated will be a huge difference. (Not holding my breath on 41 anytime soon)
  10. Wow, just downloaded Sensorly to confirm this. It looks like all of the 1x800-only sites are LTE now in DE, including the one behind Henlopen Station @ Rehoboth. The site right on the boardwalk probably won't be touched since it's a 3G-only site with no 1x800, but maybe this is reason to get our hopes up now. :-)
  11. Has an official statement been released with what the actual issue was? I'm curious what went wrong, on a more technical level than what the news outlets have been saying.
  12. Is it possible these omissions are due to the chassis size? The logic board can only be so big inside the phone - would a physically larger phone have allowed Apple to go full-bore on the LTE bands/technologies with this phone?
  13. I work IT/Mobility support for a corporation that gives out iPhones. If we get a returned phone that is activation locked, I can provide Apple with a purchase order to get the device unlocked. (Basically proving the device is owned by the company and the sub-user no longer has it in their possession) I have some documentation somewhere that might help, I'll check it out tomorrow. EDIT: Found an e-mail on my work phone. Call Apple Enterprise Support (8667527753) - provide IMEI or Serial # of the device that needs to be unlocked Apple rep will send you an e-mail with a form, case # and instructions Procure the device's receipt or purchase order. (Proof of purchase from reseller to business) Enclose the receipt/PO with the form Apple sent and send it back to Apple. Apple will reply to confirm verification of proof of purchase and that Activation Lock has been removed This will likely only work if you are an enterprise organization with Apple that buys iPhones in bulk, I'm not sure how this would go otherwise. Hope it helps though.
  14. I would be pleasantly surprised if Rehoboth has LTE this year but I trust my vacation will be full of 3G and tears.
  15. I would see if you could just save yourself the trouble and return the phone. I know Swappa guarantees a clean IMEI (which this phone has), but maybe they will allow a refund on a device that you can't easily activate as well.
  16. Woops, looks like my thread was merged, didn't see this one. :-) Twospirits: The CDMA version does not appear to support bands 5 & 12 As far as confirmation from Sprint, the CDMA version isn't out yet, so we probably won't hear anything until it's officially on the market.
  17. Looks like the NextBit Robin will be coming to Sprint now. Anyone planning to get one? I don't see an ETA yet on the CDMA variant, but the GSM version seems to be available for purchase now. https://www.nextbit.com/pages/meet-robin
  18. Nobody on the internet seems to know how, though.
  19. Exactly. I don't understand why posts buried in 20-page long threads are considered news, and information worthy of a new thread is shunned around here. This is the second time I've seen this happen and I wouldn't have seen this news without this new thread. Linking to a 22-page thread isn't helpful.
  20. It seems like this may be the golden ticket for reliable VoLTE without drops in the future.
  21. Nice, was this recently? Also, can you reduce the plan to SERO 500 to have it be $50+fees?
  22. I think TOL on SERO accounts has been blocked as of late.
  23. As expected, no dice in store. They can only do it if they put my mom on an existing Framily member's account. We're just looking to do a new line on its own account if possible. The codes just weren't in the system to do it the way I wanted, I guess. By the sounds of it, the reps that are doing the new lines on single accounts are "skirting" the system in some way, and Sprint is apparently cracking down on it. Don't know if there is truth to that though. It seems so easy though, when the code was on Reddit two people joined within a few days. Are there any reps on here that can help us do this remotely so we don't have to call Sprint multiple times?
  24. A spot in my Framily just opened up and I need to get my Mom on it. If nobody at my local store can help us, what's my other options? Calling Sprint directly and keeping my fingers crossed the rep is competent?
