  1. Where did you hear that?? Maybe by the end of this year Erie will get some attention. But it's always been a maybe. Four years later.....
  2. Interesting! So it can be done in store, but only with some legwork by the store/phone rep? Can it be done on the phone/chat only for a new line?
  3. Thanks for verifying this... I was curious but unwilling to try
  4. It's rumored that a 9.2 jailbreak is looming from Pangu, this will be one of the first things I do when it is.
  5. Nice! Glad this made its own post, I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.
  6. I believe you can still add brand new lines to Framily plans for non-existing customers. But, I've heard it must be done in-store. Reps usually don't mind because they get a cut for creating a new line.
  7. Just did the full wi-fi calling disable on my phone, as well as all of my friends/family I've told to enable it. I forgot how good HD voice was, it's been gone for so long! Hopefully a carrier update fixes this, I wonder if Sprint even knows about it.
  8. Almost all of the sites in Upstate NY are NV complete. HD voice should work on all of them, I've had no issues even on 3G-only sites.
  9. I'm in the Minneapolis suburbs and Sprint is the only good carrier out here. I've got a Verizon Mifi pulling down 1-2mbps on LTE, ATT was unusable on the work phone (Wouldn't even catch a ping on LTE), and T-Mobile LTE was 2-4mbps on my iPad. Sprint is at 25mbps in the same spots as the other 3 carriers. It's great being the underdog!
  10. I see you're in NYC - does your family truly need wi-fi calling in your area, or are you in somewhat of a dead zone? The most reliable way of calling in a "good service" area will usually be over the macro network.
  11. Exactly. I have SERO and I'm excited to see what they offer legacy customers. They could move us to new plans. They could remove the subsidy cost from our plans. Either way, it's all going to balance out in the end. There is nowhere else to go, everyone needs to calm down and see how Sprint is going to handle transitioning legacy users before they get mad.
  12. Take note that your Sprint phones will roam on Verizon if you're out in the sticks with no Sprint service and need emergency calling. As long as the majority of your usage is on Sprint, you won't get docked for roaming fees. Just keep it infrequent. There is a chance that you're in an area that just doesn't have any towers in it. Sprint may never densify the network where you are. Even if their network was fully completed, it's a gamble that you'll be covered. Becoming a sponsor would at least give you exact site locations around your area on a zoomable map so you can see if it's going to improve in the future. $100 isn't the minimum donation to gain access, don't worry. A lot of people give what they can afford at the time.
  13. Doesn't work like that with wives/girlfriends unfortunately. No iMessage/Facetime? No deal.
  14. This is a site issue - B41 can definitely penetrate indoors at that distance away from the site. B41 is probably at a super-low power level. They have not been fully optimized in my market either after being installed for 1 year.
  15. Ithaca has great LTE throughout the city. B25 and B26 switch flawlessly and I think they even got some optimization recently. If you're on the outskirts, you'll be on the 3G-only sites. Totally normal. Rural sites haven't been hit yet, but they will be...eventually.
  16. Hrm. I'll be up the turnpike later today and will see how it is. When I came down a few days ago there definitely was a bit more LTE than usual.
  17. Are you sure? That stretch was almost 100% 3G on the last sponsor map update. It would be a long shot if they all got upgraded to LTE within a few weeks.
  18. The 3G is even worse this year at Rehoboth - I was having trouble making calls it was so bad. 100% unusable data. One would think the excessive load would have moved this up on the priority list years ago. We've been tethering to my T-Mo iPad just to use the parking apps at the meters Oh well, my vacation group has come to expect this and we keep saying "maybe next year."
  19. I think the Binghamton cluster of LTE got another round of optimization recently. Getting B26 A bit deeper into a bar I frequent, and got fringe LTE at the Binghamton Regional Airport, which is miles and miles and miles away from a Sprint site. (used to be 1x only)
  20. There are sites very close to Departures rd., I think you are just very close to a cell site when you are taking these readings. Not necessarily optimization.
  21. Sprint.com/network isn't showing any movement at Rehoboth yet. I'll be there Saturday.... cmonnnn backhaul!
