  1. No QoS - yet. This is just an early implementation for testing voice over LTE with a very small sample size. It's only on these two devices, I'd imagine by the time it hits the iPhone it will be full blown VoLTE with QoS. (Who knows, that could be a year off, or more.)
  2. Is anyone testing Calling Plus in the wild? The two devices currently compatible are the LG Stylo 3 and Samsung J7 Perx. The service supposedly went live on 5/31/17. "Calling Plus" bullet points, gathered from Reddit: Voice is transmitted over LTE Voice is not prioritized at the network level like in a traditional VoLTE implementation (Saturated LTE will cause call quality degradation) Simultaneous voice and data VoLTE/VoWi-Fi smooth handoffs both ways No 1x fallback I'm really interested in hearing early impressions of this quiet rollout.
  3. Does anyone have the J7 Perx yet? "Calling Plus" (VoLTE Lite) is supposedly going live today and is supported on this device.
  4. The I-81 GMO corridor from Scranton to Binghamton seems to have LTE in a lot of places now. It used to be 3G-hell, and seems very usable now. Something has definitely happened in the last month or two.
  5. Thanks for the tip! I did the codes and that combo didn't work, but Settings -> General -> Reset Network Settings did work. Up and running!
  6. I've used Wi-Fi calling ever since it came out, and have been using it on my iPhone 7 with no issue. A few days ago, it stopped saying "Sprint Wi-Fi" when my phone would connect to all Wi-Fi networks. My girlfriend's Sprint 7+ works fine with it in my house, but mine will never enable. I toggle Wi-Fi calling, it takes me to confirm my 911 address, I confirm, then it bounces me back to the toggle screen. I have Wi-Fi calling enabled on my account, but can't remove the "service" from My Sprint, nor can I remove it from the 911 address page. I've updated my PRL and rebooted the phone multiple times to no avail. Haven't tried a restore yet. I'm on 10.3.1. Are there any tricks to get it back?
  7. Nope, that's fixed now. (On the iPhone at least) HD voice will work on cellular to cellular calls even if wifi calling is enabled. And wifi to wifi calls on iPhone are HD voice now, too. Mixed cellular/wifi calls seem to be the only non-HD calls now.
  8. I wonder if the new carrier update improves HD voice between Wi-Fi calling and macro network Sprint calls. I think that's currently the only situation in which HD voice doesn't work now, right? (Assuming Sprint to Sprint calls)
  9. I think most people like the new red iPhone. Apple just dropped the ball on the screen bezel color for 99% of buyers, though. I'd be seriously interested in switching if the front was black.
  10. Was this slow for you? It's almost immediate on my phone, and the low-res version is almost always perfectly acceptable - I can barely tell the difference once the full-res photo downloads. (In a second or two)
  11. The coverage map @ Sprint.com/coverage tells all, just look for LTE Plus areas. Most major cities in Upstate NY have it. Where in particular?
  12. Worded nicely and I think echoes the sentiments of everyone here. A future we can all hope for. :-)
  13. Yeah, no biggie! I figured a mod could do it if they desired.
  14. The original post should be edited to reflect the correct pricing. It's $65 + $20 line access fee, minus $5 autopay discount = $80. Taxes and fees will vary by state, so that can't be quoted.
  15. AL33XC725, between Owego and Endicott. Access is from Day Hollow Road, I drive by every day and have been looking at a wrapped fiber cable dangling from the pole for months now. They were running it down the road over the summer and stopped right where the tower access gate is.
  16. It makes sense that they want to get these remaining sites tackled in 2017 if VoLTE is around the corner for 2018-2020. I'd imagine that this probably holds true for all of Upstate NY's remaining 3G sites. There is one rural 3G site down here in the Binghamton market that recently had fiber ran to it but not hooked up. They'll probably hit it in the springtime I imagine.
  17. I've had great luck with Swappa. I always buy from sellers with great pictures, a few past sales (with good reviews), and well-written ads. Hasn't burned me once. It's the sketchy ones with 1-2 photos and terrible descriptions that you need to stay away from. It's a good platform for peer-to-peer sales if you're vigilant, and an awesome place to sell if you can write up a nice ad.
  18. Just got 103Mbps down/15Mbps up in Lewes.... wow. This used to be the worst market for me, now I get my fastest speed test to date here!
  19. I wonder if it is working in my area - my iPhone pops on to LTE a lot faster when coming out of known 3G-holes lately. It seems to be forced on to LTE even during a streaming session now, whereas before it would not hit LTE again until the data connection was interrupted. (Pausing Spotify) Could all be placebo, though.
  20. Personally I've never had this issue, but that seems like a really good solution to beef them up. The only 30-pin/lightning cable I've had go bad in the last 10 years was from my R/C helicopter flying into one. :-)
  21. Sounds like you might be right! If the site is already a Sprint B25/B26 site, 3 new antennas and RRUs would be required for B41 deployment.
  22. It was a Spark device. Mediocre experience though, I picked one up for a week then returned it.
  23. You didn't Amazon a screen protector and case while you waited??
  24. If you do it right, you can remain on $50 SERO-P 500. I did a normal upgrade to my iPhone 7 and activated through chat and was not required to do a plan change. But, if you are told you can't activate a device in chat, try in-store. And, if you try to activate a 3G device on SERO-P after having an LTE device on it, (rare case) you will have to move to $60 SERO Unlimited. (Some technical limitation) I'm happy to be locked in @ $50/mo for the next two years, though.
