2 year subsidy phone upgrades early warning info
jefbal99 replied to dkyeager's topic in General Topics
I've used many subsidy upgrades, but my last two phones have been full purchase price. For my family members, up until just 6 weeks ago, used subsidy upgrades. They are a great way to get a "current" device at a discount, but paying for that discount with the contract and legacy plan. The industry has changed, but Sprint has the CDMA noose hanging over them. If Sprint was a GSM carrier, then this would be a non-issue as just about any device would be eligible for BYOD. Due to Sprints CDMA network and boutique bands it makes it difficult to BYOD without a get deal of research and knowledge, then working with CS to get a proper SIM and activated. Sprint has done an amazing job pulling themselves up and becoming a major player in the industry again. I hope this doesn't come back to bite them in the ass, but they've been pushing the 0% financing/lease model for two years now. I think the average customer is used to this already as all new customers in the last 18 months are on these plans. -
If you bring up the website without being logged in, you get a notice that S4GRU is currently unavailable. After you login, you have access to everything. Anything happening with the site?

B41 has been a disaster in Lansing and Portland the last few days, 400-500ms ping times, sub 1mbs up and download. Observed on multiple devices in multiple locations. Wondering is Sprint is doing some tuning or maintenance?!?! If I could get on B26 at home, everything was good, but as soon as I was shifted to B41, throughput was terrible.

I agree it is abuse, but your regular phone account and these accounts are flagged differently in the system. If and when Sprint wants to throttle or shape this traffic, they can due to the existing flags in place. You risk having your service canceled as you are violating the terms of your contract with Sprint. If you were to have a secondary service via Calyx and bomb the hell out of it, then go for it. But to say this service and rooting/tethering are the same thing, I can't agree with that.

That sucks, I remember Motorola selling this device on fast upgrades, Pure Google Experience, etc. I still have mine with the shattered screen that i keep pulling random bits of data off when I need it.

I've used it on s6 and s7, plus my Galaxy tab e. Still hate it on all levels Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Still loving this 8" tablet. Its my Amazon Prime and Netflix device, the only downfall I've found is that MHL and Miracast are disabled.

I've dropped mine twice face down within two weeks of having it and it survived. I was shocked and very impressed. Sorry for your luck with the device, I put a glass screen protector and finally a live case on it.

I loved my Note 2 and the entire note series (sans burning phones). I think the reason I skipped the Note 3 or 4 was it was one of the last single band LTE devices, only supporting Band 25. Then I moved on to a S4T, Moto X Pure, and now a Nexus 6P. I love the size and features of the "phablet" devices. My biggest gripe about the Note 2, S4T, and all Samsung devices is the TouchWiz interfaces. I can't see myself ever going back to a device that utilizes an overlay from stock Android. It will be very interesting to see how this device is marketed after the Note 7 debacle.

is that good, bad, or otherwise? -
Reason I was thinking it was two different channels is the carriers are only 20mhz wide, the two frequencies listed are 194 Mhz apart
-
Perhaps I'm misreading LTE discovery. I thought the EARFCN channels and frequencies were the ranges, but now I'm thinking it's the two channels and this is showing CA. Thoughts? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
