  1. Would be interesting to see what happens if you insert a Google Project Fi SIM into the device
  2. May security patch is rolling out, no 6.0.1 though. Zip is available at XDA and can be side loaded Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  3. I disagree, if the radio/antenna setup is so bad that it can't use the fledgling network, then the device isn't good. These are phones first and foremost, forcing WiFi use just makes it a handheld PC. Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  4. 3g was so bad at that time, only LTE made the network usable. Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  5. Yup, we were in a market with less than stellar coverage, now it wouldn't be so bad. But when it was a flagship, it was bunk Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  6. Huh, I just realized the rumors are a Late August/Early September release for Android N, that means a new device in that window too, I was thinking we were waiting until October. Any idea why the typical timeline was changed?
  7. What a piece of junk that phone was, my buddy had one, bleh!
  8. Well, I'm screwed no matter what, unlocking/rooting clears user data, so I'd lose my encryption key from vold anyways Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
  9. Take off the Android screenshot and I would think its an iPhone. I'm thinking about selling the MXPE and going for the Marlin
  10. Well crap, my adoptable storage took a dump on Monday. Not sure the issue as I can't get to any logs, Android sees the card and "checks" it when inserted, then gives a message that the card is not there. I put the card into my Windows box and it sees it as a SCSI storage device, but nothing more. That is apparently correct. I grabbed a linux live disc, but haven't booted it up under that. apparently I can decrypt from there, but I need to root to get the decryption key... I'm faced with two options 1. Root, get the decryption key, attempt to decrypt, then start over or go full monty and toss CM on the phone 2. forget the adopted storage, wipe it and start over. I really wish google offered a way to provide the decryption key or some better error messages to know what went wrong with the adoptable storage. The SD Card has been in my device basically since day one, it was only removed when i needed to get the Feb security update and I pulled the SIM. I'm frustrated with Lenovo/Moto as this device was advertised/sold as a "Pure Google" experience, but we haven't gotten 6.0.1 and are hanging out on the Feb security update. My plan was to sell the phone when the new Nexus comes out in the fall, but unlocking/rooting will void the warranty. Also the fact that CA isn't enabled/doesn't work is frustrating too. Not sure if that is Sprint or Lenovo to blame there... If anyone can think of a third option, I'm open to suggestions.
  11. Depends on the device (active, passive, standby) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual_SIM Active has both SIMs active at the same time, i.e HTC Desire 600 dual sim
  12. Any price points on this device? Software updates are the only big issue I see here
  13. Not sure anyone on the S4GRU forums can help you out here, you might want to try the folks over at XDA as they are active modders
  14. http://www.fiercewireless.com/tech/story/sprint-gets-5g-two-copa-america-stadium-trials-planned/2016-05-05 Looks like one stadium will be Nokia, the other Ericsson build outs
  15. Marcelo tweeted that Sprint 5G will be demonstrated at Levis Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field during this summer's Copa America Centenario tournament. San Francisco is June 3rd and 6th, Philly is June 9th, 11th, & 14th. sprint.com/22fgxis Since there is no 5G standard yet, what are they going to be showing off?!?! Just really Wideband LTE-A with crazy fast backhaul?
  16. Grand Rapids has had Band 26 for a long time, it goes over to just west of Ionia. Some areas in and around Lansing are starting to pop up with B26, including DeWitt, but its still spotty. I looked up Martin, MI on the map and it is right off of 131, well out of the exclusion zone. I'd bet dimes to donuts that any cell site around there is a full NV build with B26/B25/B41, along with CDMA BC1/BC10. This might be a better question to ask in the West Michigan thread as that is a different Sprint region.
  17. Yeah, that is probably your bogey, In Michigan we are almost all 8T8R, with the beamforming, I connect to B41 before B25
  18. -115 very slow?!?! unless you are in a highly congested area, -115 yields 10mb/s down which is plenty for NetFlix/Youtube/Hulu, etc. I'm a "datahog" due to no high speed internet where i love (30+gb/month) and have no issue with those signals strengths for anything that I do on my phone.
  19. interesting, Sprint must not have assigned MSL because BYOD
