  1. You need to enable the B26 and B41 LTE bands under the dialer code *#*#3282#*#*. however you need your MSL code in order to Edit the option to enable/disable B26 and B41.
  2. No one is stopping you from creating an article and throw it up to Robert to see if it can be posted on the Wall. You can be the pioneer for this idea of yours.
  3. There should be LTE 2600 in scattered parts of Chicago. There might be LTE 800 in Chicago but at this point LTE 800 is a huge mystery and no one knows which areas if any has been deployed with it yet. But in a huge market like Chicago, you would have to think that LTE 800 is deployed somewhere but no one is going to drive to each tower and scan for LTE 800.
  4. Test it out when you connect to LTE and let me know if it worked out for you.

  6. Use the dialer code *#*#33284#*#* and scroll to the LTE Engineering menu and look for the Band XX entry. for the specific frequency you are connected to, unless you have a HTC phone it won't show up on SignalCheck app. On that LTE Engineering screen, note the EARFCN DL (downlink) number and then punch it into this EARFCN to frequency calculator in the link below to get the actual frequency. Choose LTE for network type and choose North America for region. Enter the EARFCN DL (downlink) number and walah!!!! http://www.cellmapper.net/arfcn
  7. If you hang out in the G2 IRC, I think you will know who he is. He seems to get all the files for the different LG G2 variants so early. He had the Sprint LG G2 stock firmware and radio file available since late September.
  8. You are assuming that Sprint has a huge inventory of single band GS4's still that they need another promotion to get rid of that inventory. I am sure Sprint does not have as much single band GS4's as we might think. No matter how much GS4 inventory is left Sprint will not be able to sell every single one of the single band GS4's in the US before their internal GS4 Triband transition date. At some point Sprint corporate is going to make a decision and tell stores either to yank all existing single band GS4 inventory off of their shelves and return it back to corporate OR tell stores to just stock both versions until they can sell every last one of the single band GS4 and it will be a roulette on which version you get.
  9. Ditto. Can you test to see if you can connect to B41 on the N5 on the same towers as you did on the G2 and post screenshots if you are able to?
  10. I have been paying attention the LG G2 IRC via XDA and one of the recognized contributors there gets new files here and there for all LG G2 variants and had been saying that he put out a new Verizon beta modem (radio) file that he received to test out yesterday and users that have flashed and tested it on their Verizon G2 have had at least 10 dBm improvement on LTE. All that needs to happen is that LG has to fix the LG G2 modem on the Sprint variant and it should have similar performance to the Nexus 5. This recognized contributor is a Sprint customer and I asked him to let me know if he receives any new Sprint LG G2 modems for testing through his connections.

    LG G Flex LS995

At this point, I would be highly shocked if there were any more high end LTE smartphones that were still single band. The top 3 OEMs for Android phones: LG, HTC and Samsung have showed that they are making triband LTE phones from this point forward. The Note 3 for whatever reason was an anomaly but was probably in the works since Spring 2013 so it was borderline.
  12. Ahhhh...Carbon ROM. The test ROM thus far. Do you get these same types of speeds when you run stock ROM or only when you run Carbon ROM?

    LG G Flex LS995

AWWWWWEEEESOMEE. Can't wait to play with it. I hear its also has microUSB 3.0 too so that will be LG's first smartphone using microUSB 3.0. I just hope it comes preinstalled with the Dual Window feature for multitasking. What LG really should do is bring that Dual Window feature to the LG G2 in the KitKat update.
  14. Give me Snap & Crackle.
  15. I would suggest you go try the HTC One Max at the store just to see if it fits your needs. Like others have reiterated, real world performance vs. numbers you see are sometimes better than expected.
  16. Are these screenshots from the Note 2? I see a custom CM ROM that was flashed.
  17. This sounds like what I am seeing. I wonder by the time the Sprint Spark update comes on the G2, if it will help with 1x800 CDMA connection along with enabling B26 and B41 LTE.
  18. Are you doing the speedtests at the same time or one after the other? If you do them together, then whoever starts first will have the faster speeds since it is taking bandwidth from the tower assuming both phones are connected to the same LTE site and sector. Try doing them independently with at least a 10-20 sec gap. No promises of faster speeds but rather it is another data point. If it is an issue, probably should report it to Sprint so that they can fix it in the Spark update.
  19. I wish all Sprint LTE phones including the single band LTE phones had the LTE scan interval setting. The fact that the HTC One Max shows 300 seconds for the default setting tells me that all the other LTE phones (single or triband) thus far have the default scan interval every 300 seconds. I find the duration to be a bit too long. I would customize it to scan every 120 seconds instead. I understand that Sprint is not trying to drain battery by not constantly sending out a LTE search command too often especially in the earlier stages of NV where LTE was more scarce. But as time goes on and Sprint fills in the LTE gaps, the 300 second interval shouldn't be as bad but I wish you could still change it though. But then again, I don't like the fact that the HTC One Max doesn't have the LTE bands priority screen missing.
  20. It was pretty much a no brainer than Tmobile was going to try to bid for 700 MHz A block spectrum. They desperately need low band spectrum to compete with the big 2 and Sprint. However I don't know what Tmobile's game plan would be given that Verizon's 700 MHz A block spectrum is still limited. I mean it covers a lot of major markets but still not anywhere near nationwide licenses.
  21. Lets just say that I have heard that Verizon is already testing a stock Android 4.4 ROM for the LG G2. I am sure other carriers are not too far behind. I heard this from a recognized contributor in the LG G2 IRC chat on XDA. Apparently he was able to get all the stock firmware files for each LG G2 variant long before anyone has. He might just have connections or is a soak test member.
  22. Yes that is true. Detroit will not be able to get 800 MHz CDMA or LTE until the US/Canada IBEZ interference issues are resolved. This not only affects Detroit but other cities that are along the Canadian border such as Buffalo, Seattle, Cleveland, Rochester, etc. I am in Los Angeles and most of the southern part of LA and all of Orange County can't receive 800 MHz CDMA and LTE due to the US/Mexico IBEZ even though its pretty far away from the Mexican border. I am hoping the 800 MHz issue gets resolved by 2015 but the deadline is Feb 23, 2016.
  23. The wifi error on the Sprint website for the G2 has been corrected awhile ago sometime before release date. The wifi error was only discovered during the preorder period when the page first launched.
  24. I assume with the Spark update, you can connect to B41 LTE with more stability or does it still drop in and out? With my testing of B41 LTE on the G2 without the Spark update, it keeps dropping in and out and it was annoying. I figured the Spark update would calm things down.
