  1. I just received my Quickwindow case from my LG G2 preorder from Sprint. Anyone else receive theirs?
  2. I sure hope not. Sprint should have been offloading their single band GS4 stock since mid October. The longer Sprint keeps stocking up the single band GS4, the worse it is going to be since that would mean more devices that are released on the Sprint network with single band LTE. I would love to see the GS4 triband come out by the first week or second week of December.
  3. The issue is very simple. 800 MHz in the US before June 2013 was used for iDEN and public safety which used narrowband channels (25 KHz). Mexico and Canada use the same exact frequencies for iDEN. Well CDMA and LTE are considered wideband channels so Sprint had to apply for a modification of the 800 MHz band to the FCC to allow them to deploy wideband applications such as CDMA and LTE. Sprint received permission from the FCC to deploy CDMA and LTE back in May 2012 so that takes care of the US side. However Mexico and Canada still use iDEN at 800 MHz and Sprint can't just deploy CDMA and LTE near these borders since the low band 800 MHz spectrum has great range and can cause major interference with iDEN wireless services and the wireless providers in Canada and Mexico would complain. Both Canada and Mexico needs to work on a relocation band effort so ensure both sides don't interfere with each other and unfortunately this takes time. So far from the links above that I posted from the FCC, fortunately the US/Mexico side reband plan has been approved and is in work of rebanding right now. I don't know the status of the US/Canada side but I am sure a reband plan should be coming out in the near future.
  4. Dallas is so far away from Mexico that you won't ever be affected and should be able to use the full 14 MHz of 800 MHz. Heck I don't even think San Antonio for the most part is affected by 800 MHz.
  5. See this thread. The Mexico IBEZ affects these major markets: San Diego, south LA/Orange County/San Bernardino County, El Paso and Tucson. The 800 MHz rebanding effort has been finalized and will take 30 months from August 23, 2013. This means that the 800 MHz rebanding effort for Mexico should be at the latest complete in February 23, 2016. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4707-usmexico-800-mhz-reband-plan-going-to-take-30-months/ http://www.fcc.gov/document/commencement-800-mhz-band-reconfiguration-along-mexico-border In this thread, if you scroll down to the Special Case Mexican IBEZ Setup pic in the OP, you will see what the Mexico IBEZ consists of. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3915-how-to-spot-sprint-antennas-and-rrus-alcatel-lucent-style/ In this thread, if you scroll down to the Canadian IBEZ (NO SMR) pic in the OP, you will see what the Canada IBEZ consists of. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3906-how-to-spot-sprint-antennas-and-rrus-samsung-style/
  6. I don't understand why anyone uses Global mode? Switching from Global mode to LTE/CDMA mode was one of the first settings, I switched on my phone. Its not like people are going to connect to WCDMA/HSPA+ anyways.
  7. I think that is the plan eventually on colocated sites that already have the appropriate NV backhaul installed. However at the same time I feel that Sprint is only going to hook up NV backhaul to the LTE 2600 radios/antennas to the their cabinet if they have sufficient backhaul to support about three 20 MHz TD-LTE carriers. Until then I think Sprint might just use Clearwire backhaul for just LTE 2600 and current NV backhaul for LTE 800/1900 until it can receive a huge boost in backhaul on the Sprint NV side to support Sprint's ultimate vision of LTE 800/1900/2600 on the same platform.
  8. I still wish that Sprint and the OEMS would work out a standard set of engineering screens to put in all their LTE devices so that there is some consistency. It doesn't make sense that LG, Samsung and HTC each have a different set of engineering screens. I still think having the option to know which LTE bands are enabled and the band priority is still valuable information. I would gladly trade the LTE scan frequency in the HTC One Max for the the LTE band enable/disable capabilties in the Samsung and LG phones.
  9. 247 hours left on usage. Wow!!!
  10. I guess that can be true so we will have to wait and see. Hopefully it comes with the MDM9625 modem.
  11. But is the Snapdragon 600 a LTE Advanced processor? According to this article, the Snapdragon 800 is the first LTE Advanced processor. http://www.qualcomm.com/media/releases/2013/06/26/qualcomm-snapdragon-800-processors-power-worlds-first-lte-advanced This link shows which modems work with which type of processors. It seems like the MDM9625 modem only works with LTE Advanced processors which is the Snapdragon 800. My guess is that if the GS4 triband has a Snapdragon 600 processor then it is not a LTE Advanced processor which means that most likely it will have the same MDM9615 modem. I doubt Sprint will do a super overhaul of the phone specs when all it really cares about is adding the B26 and B41 LTE support to the GS4. We will just have to see when the GS4 triband phone comes out. http://www.qualcomm.com/chipsets/gobi
  12. I don't think Sprint is going to increase the cost after lowering the cost to $199. It still has the same Snapdragon 600 and probably will be the same 16 GB variant. It doesn't make sense to jack the price back up to $249 and risk losing customers who are not familiar with a GS4 refresh that supports triband LTE. If anything, Sprint should be subtle about this and not encourage pitching forks for those that just recently bought the GS4 single band smartphone.
  13. Don't know about the credibility of Pdadb but I just searched for the Verizon LG G2 VS980 and it stated Sept 2013 which is correct. Now I don't know if back in July/August it posted an estimate date of Sept and was right the whole time or when it was released in Sept, Pdadb filled in the correct month after the fact. Given that the GS4 Triband was FCC approved in mid October, a December release is not out of the picture especially right when the Christmas shopping season is in full force. An early to mid December release would be perfect. http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=4726&c=lg_vs980_g2

    LG G Flex LS995

I wonder when this thing will hit the FCC. I really hope this is triband LTE device at this point and Sprint Spark available out of the box.
  15. Looks like possibly a December release. Also it says in the specs Graphical Controller: Qualcomm Adreno 320. This tells me that it using the same Snapdragon 600 chip as in the original Galaxy S4. Should be a solid release for those that have been waiting patiently for the GS4 with triband LTE. http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=5202&view=1&c=samsung_sph-l720t_galaxy_s4_td-lte_samsung_altius
  16. It also says for Graphical Controller: Qualcomm Adreno 320. This tells me that it is using the Snapdragon 600 instead of the 800.
  17. Are you going to do an article on the HTC One Max? Or is it a bit late?
  18. Just use a 3rd party app for messaging.
  19. Is there another BB store that you can go to that might have it in stock?
  20. I don't use Google Voice for calls. There is an option to disable Google Voice for calling. If anything I used to use Google Voice on my Photon 4G for voicemails since it keeps a history of your voicemails.
  21. Cool. Good to know that ART so far looks promising. I am curious about ART though and I hope as time goes on battery life is improved and the Android performance is faster and smooth overall. I wonder if the ART option is going to be available on non-Nexus phones like the G2, GS4, HTC One when they get their stock 4.4 ROMS.
  22. The truth is battery life is going to vary on your location and signal strength throughout the entire battery charge. This screenshot doesn't really explain much because there is no context. I mean its easy to stretch battery life if it isn't being stressed or if you have great signal the entire time. I have seen people say the LG G2 can last almost 2 days but in my experience, I usually last about a day due to my work and home area having weak reception indoors for 1x and 3G so my radios are in search mode frequently. I am glad to see the Nexus 5 being able to last a day or longer but in no way is this screenshot representative of the norm.
  23. Well you have the luxury of getting to test both devices. You should choose what you feel fits your needs the most.
  24. B25 is just a superset of B2. So the Sprint LTE phones should be able to scan all of B2's frequencies (PCS A-F blocks) in addition to the PCS G block which is what they currently have LTE deployed.
