  1. B41 LTE testing with the current G2 firmware is flaky. I posted observations a long time ago that you need to keep pumping traffic through B41 LTE if you want to maintain connection or otherwise it automatically disconnects you after 10-20 seconds. Also even obtaining a B41 LTE connection is very hard right now especially if you are in an area where there is a lot of B25 LTE. This is why we need the Spark update as I think the Spark update is more than just flipping the switches on the B26 and B41 LTE bands and getting a new 3G and LTE spark icons but also provides further fixes and updates to maintain a stable B26 and B41 LTE connection. Also typing or sending a text message does not boot you off LTE to the point where you can't reconnect. This makes absolutely no sense. You are trying to correlate B41 LTE connection with texting which does not have any merit given how unstable B41 LTE connection is right now.
  2. I am not going to post them them on the forums to not take up forum space. I just sent you a PM. Just follow the instructions and it should work.
  3. Haha well I have to give credit to Ascertion for helping me get the arrows from top to bottom in stock. I have premade LGSystemUI.apk files that I can send you for Sprint, Verizon and Tmobile carriers so you don't have to tinker with anything. ATT is a bit more tricky so I didn't bother tinkering with it. I edited both the 3G and 4G icons to be consistent and I made the signal bars 5 bars vs. 6 bars for all the LGSystemUI.apk files. PM me and I can give them to you.
  4. You mean like this on my G2
  5. ROFL....that is a weird observation but I doubt it has any correlation about their G2. I would assume they would use the same username if it was the same person.
  6. Congrats man. I know its been a long time waiting and you had perfect timing too with the BF sale where the phones are super cheap. It makes me wish I waited a few more weeks to get the G2 on the cheap.
  7. There is zero advantage of being in Global or LTE/CDMA mode when connected to the Sprint network. Anyone who claims...OMG I get better LTE signal in Global mode vs. LTE/CDMA mode is just a placebo effect. As we know that measuring a LTE or CDMA signal is pretty tough given how dynamic it fluctuates every second. All switching between Global and LTE/CDMA mode does is just force a rescan of the frequencies which maybe a rescan of frequencies finally gives you the LTE signal especially if you are in a weak cell edge LTE area. If you are in a strong LTE area, you can try swapping between Global and LTE/CDMA mode and you will find it makes zero difference. All Global mode means is that you can use the GSM/HSPA bands when you are travelling internationally but that does not help with gaining a Sprint LTE signal at all. FWIW, I put my phone in LTE/CDMA mode on my G2 and I don't have problems connecting to LTE.
  8. Just buy one of those backup battery packs that can quick charge your phone in an hour.
  9. Call Sprint and ask them to add a wifi hotspot plan to your current phone plan.
  10. Based on what I have heard so far, LG is working on making tweaks and updates to the radio settings which will probably be made in the Android 4.4 update. Don't quote me on it but I assume that LG and Sprint are fully aware of any shortcomings thus far in the RF dept.
  11. OMG. When did Apple announce the iPhone S Flex? Just hope LG doesn't sue for this .
  12. The answer is neither. Only htc one max, gs4 mini and galaxy mega only got spark update thus far. G2 and nexus 5 are getting spark update in early 2014. Sent from my LG G2 LS980 using Tapatalk
  13. I didn't see that. People kept saying call or chat with Sprint or connect your phone to adb and do logcat to search for a 6 digit number for your MSL.
  14. Wow ROFL...it does work. I didn't know this but this is super useful and is no doubt the quickest way to get your MSL. I am going to credit you for this finding over at the XDA thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47980821&postcount=59
  15. Nice bro. I am not really jealous if you use best buy or amazon to buy it for cheaper via 3rd party. Sprint can't match that and I would much rather keep my SERO account. I will make up the difference that way.
  16. Thanks for the heads up. I guess I can try again. This would totally make my day if they were able to do it.
  17. HAHA great deal for only $250 outright. I got mine for $199 without counting taxes with 2 year contract but its not like I was going to leave Sprint anyways due to being on SERO. But it does suck knowing that I could have upgraded yesterday for only $50 on 2 year contract.
  18. Anyone here take advantage of the LG G2 promotion going on this black Friday weekend for only $50 on Sprint? If you did, I hate you since I paid $199 for the G2 just 3 weeks ago.
  19. Bro just stop with the tethering. Your killing me here. Read the rules. Also why would being on LTE prevent you from making calls. That doesnt make any sense. Sent from my LG G2 LS980 using Tapatalk
  20. Whatever it takes to get LG more sales. I think the more sales LG sees the more they will feel confident about supporting their phones since people are buying them.
  21. Why do you have to get it at best buy???!?!?? I don't know about best buy dude. The promotion is only for online or through Sprint telesales according to the press release below. http://investors.sprint.com/file.aspx?iid=4057219&fid=20918641
  22. You are so lucky Blake. You can get the G2 for only $49.99 on upgrade. GRRR part of me wishes that I waited until Black Friday to upgrade to the G2. For only $49.99, I think it is a no brainer.
  23. Just in case anyone was curious and wants to disable thermal throttling on the Sprint G2, you need to access the hidden menu and disable a menu setting. Use the dialer code 5689#*980# to access the LG Hidden Menu options and select Thermal Mitigation On/Off menu and select Off. Be very careful not to enable/disable other options in this Hidden Menu that you are not familiar with. Credits go to autoprime from XDA for this information.
  24. I bought the Obliq zeiss pure oleophobic screen protectors on Amazon for $7 for the G2. It looks really nice and they seem high quality.
