  1. That is true. I was referring to towers where VZW EVDO is there but just won't load data or even assign you an IP. There are a lot of problems ????.
  2. Looks like what would come with a beta. Are there any noticeable differences in your phone's performance?
  3. I've noticed that a lot. Some Verizon EVDO towers just seem to block the connection. A phone call sometimes fixes it but not always. It's kind of weird and random.
  4. What version are your carrier settings? You can check in Settings>General>About>Carrier.
  5. I'd put my money on the optimizations. Cutting video/audio/gaming down should clear things up A LOT because the only other real use of the network is email, photos (e.g. social media) and web browsing which are all extremely short bursts of really smal data. Oh, and speedtests from us network people .
  6. I've noticed the same thing on my 6S here in Seattle a lot ever since Sprint 26.1 came out (iOS 10.1). The phone seems to fall off LTE a lot quicker and I'm seeing an extraordinary amount of 1x. I have reported it to my contact at Sprint and he is having their device team take a look at it. Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon.
  7. Hey all, I read somewhere the SouthernLINC was allowed to operate on frequencies down to 813.5mhz. Why are they able to use those lower frequencies while Sprint is not? I thought those frequencies were reserved for public safety but maybe not?
  8. Incorrect. My email led to a PERSONAL, FACE TO FACE meeting with a network engineer and a high up executive (one who reports directly to Günther). He will, of course, not forward your email to anyone special unless you have a bunch of tech jargon and details in it Keep that in mind if you do decide to write him an email.
  9. Yea B41 is awesome in general around the puffer sound area. Up in Kirkland/Bellevue/Redmond I get B41 in areas VZW users see 1x or "No Service".
  10. I would, but I gave him my word that I would keep everything discussed in the meeting confidential. If you want to get in touch with someone of importance, though, email Gunther. He will have someone of importance reply to your email. Make sure to include all kinds of geeky details and location.
  11. Not sure - we exchanged a few really geeky emails and then he invited me in to meet for an hour or so. Great guy and great experience.
  12. Only in the east so far - out in Western Washington things are about to ramp up though. Met with my regional VP in person yesterday and although I cannot share details (I gave him my word) I can say that there are a lot of new macros, small cells and 800mhz on the way for Western Washington!
  13. Agreed. In Seattle, four years ago almost every phone I looked at was on AT&T. Today an AT&T phone is much harder to come by. They are definitely feeling the pressure, at least here.
  14. No it doesn't. Not necessarily at least. Extended does mean voice roaming but LTE could be either native or roaming (on partners like USCC, Nextech etc.).
  15. Sprint does not roam on Verizon LTE.
  16. Oh you're talking about Boost. I was going to say I've LTE roamed many times on Sprint.
  17. What do you mean no roaming support of any kind for iPhone?
  18. Yea an iPhone 5 is not reflective of Sprint's performance in the slightest. Without Band 26, I can imagine there would be drops to 3G all the time. Try a newer phone (one with CA if possible). I'm confident your impression of Sprint will be changed dramatically.
