  1. Quick question to all iPhone 7 users - when your phone drops to 3G, how long does it take it to reconnect to LTE by itself?
  2. That's what Sprint is doing. I've seen 135+ mbps down on 2xCA and we've got 3xCA rolling out so it's only going to get better.
  3. That's awesome! I've noticed this in the past but not many people believed me because they couldn't seem to replicate it. Good to hear others are seeing this new capability as well.
  4. Roaming on VZW's 3G network has been weird and inconsistent for many Sprint users as well. No one seems to really know what's up with it working sometimes, failing to activate sometimes, failing to even pick up signal sometimes etc.
  5. Makes sense, and yeah, kind of a weird setup for the Seahawks stadium...maybe simone else can weigh in with more ideas as to what is going on here...
  6. There is no DAS at the stadium…also driving by, it appeared that the signals were all coming from the same site...do you mean an 8T8R and a mini macro at the same site broadcasting on different frequencies?
  7. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.engadget.com/amp/2016/11/11/t-mobile-launches-lte-for-us-forces-at-guantanamo-bay/?client=safari Stumbled across this and thought it was pretty cool. Does anyone know what the spectrum situation is down there?
  8. I wouldn't count on it - Trump and Legere haven't been on the greatest terms in the past. I wouldn't count on any favors from him.
  9. I'm pretty sure a roaming agreement would fly…splitting the 5-6 states that they both do not cover would probably not be a problem - I think it would actually be a pretty good idea - but the feds would probably interfere if it got much bigger than that. Look at it this way: T-Mobile decides with AT&T where their customers will be allowed to roam on AT&T's network. It wouldn't be much different with Sprint - T-Mobile would be deciding where their customers will be allowed to roam on Sprint's network and Sprint will be doing the same the other way around. I think the feds would would throw a fit over a complete network merger though so, as I said, the roaming agreement probably couldn't get much bigger than a few states. That being said, realistically I don't think it will ever happen. JL and T-Mo have too much pride - they want to completely build out their own nationwide network. Sprint has sites from CellularOne in Montana and northern Wyoming I believe, so those conversions combined with a few boomers along Wyoming highways will already take them to substantial coverage in Montana and Wyoming. North Dakota, South Dakota and Nevada will remain after that and I'm sure Sprint will eventually figure something out for those areas...soon™.
  10. I think the feds would block this - they have expressed numerous times that they want four major players in the telecom industry, not three. Additionally, an arrangement like this would open the door to many more half-mergers, not necessarily solely in the telecom sector, a slippery slope the feds probably want to avoid. I personally believe competition would be greatly reduced if Sprint and T-Mo were allowed to merge on the network side. The market would probably revert to the way it was before T-Mo's disruption a few years back...
  11. Lack of competition will lead to lack of upgrades and lack of network quality improvement because there will be no pressure or motivation for any of that. Competition is the foundation of capitalism.
  12. Good to hear although I think 55058 is the most recent PRL as of now....
  13. There might be a jump between the lower set of 2 (maybe 3) carriers (the set including 39874 and 40072) and the higher set (40978, 41176 and 41374) athough my phone is camped out on 40978/41176 right now so I can't really check. I have verified that all 5 carriers are coming from the same sector though.
  14. They seem to differ by 8 in decimal (iPhone doesn't report GCIs in hex). I will grab some screenshots later although I am trying to enjoy the hawks game ???? - that's where I am.
  15. Hey guys found something really cool - FIVE (PROBABLY SIX) BAND 41 CARRIERS ARE LIVE HERE FROM THE SAME SITE IN DOWNTOWN SEATTLE! EARFCNS are: 39874, 40072, 40978, 41176, 41374.
  16. Not necessarily - 800 LTE is not anywhere near its potential. If Sprint were to cut all EVDO operations in the PCS band, they could run 15x15 LTE or wider in most markets, allowing them to turn up PCS LTE power. The increased PCS coverage would allow them to turn up SMR LTE power levels. I've seen towers where AT&T and Sprint are right on top of each other with the same sector alignment and AT&T in many cases getting a hell of a lot more coverage on their PCS and 700mhz than Sprint is on their PCS and SMR. Günther has also expressed that 4x4 MIMO on SMR LTE will be coming in the future. This will help tons in terms of edge of cell performance.
  17. Wow, that is a pretty bizarre situation...I think they will probably drop the charges.
  18. PRLs only determine what SIDs your phone can access and control the phone's CDMA behavior. I wouldn't see any change really unless Sprint has added a new CDMA roaming partner.
