Sprint TD-LTE 2500/2600mhz Discussion
Rawvega replied to IamMrFamous07's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
On my way to Venice Beach and picking up Band 41 all over the place. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4 -
HOAs are the devil....Anyway, find a number of like minded neighbors and petition the HOA board. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4

Yes, that all makes sense imo. Yes, in the Mississippi Valley area. I'm not sure if that was the extent of uscc's AWS spectrum holdings. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4

Netgear Zing 771S tri band LTE mobile hotspot discussion
Rawvega replied to delta772er's topic in Hotspots/USB Modems
Dagnabit! Locking down domestic GSM/UMTS service on otherwise compatible devices is perhaps my biggest pet peeve with Sprint. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4 -
Netgear Zing 771S tri band LTE mobile hotspot discussion
Rawvega replied to delta772er's topic in Hotspots/USB Modems
I know that it's very unlikely, but by chance, is the Zing unlocked domestically? As in, can the SIM be replaced with an at&t or T-Mobile SIM and get HSPA data? I don't have a SIM from either of those carriers available to test in my Zing. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4 -
Fwiw, I expect t-mobile to have another solid quarter in Q3. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4

If we could figure out a way to write PRLs to hotspots then we could get 3G roaming.

So again, what specific urban areas are you referring to? Plus, to do the math to come up with your "2x" figure, you would need to know the total area (in square miles) for each network. So what variables are you using to do your 'simple math'?

I think Sprint is adding new sites here and there, but nothing too significant. Just my theory, but I think Sprint will look to finish Network Vision with 1900MHz, 800MHz & 2.5GHz coverage; look at any potential acquisitions, then look at what they have coverage-wise and evaluate where they might need to add cell sites from there.

Or DirecTV, assuming that they don't merge with Dish. -
I imagine there will be a lot of people in tip top shape living in those apartments.

Sprint TD-LTE 2500/2600mhz Discussion
Rawvega replied to IamMrFamous07's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
Pay for content? No, I don't, but the ESPN mobile tv channel on Sprint tv is free and I use it throughout the year to watch college basketball and football games when I'm stuck away from home. The quality is usually tolerable to me even on 3G. For some inane reason it was never compatible with WiMAX. Even better quality and potentially less network congestion with LTE Broadcast would make it a win-win IMO. -
Sprint TD-LTE 2500/2600mhz Discussion
Rawvega replied to IamMrFamous07's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
My apologies if this has been discussed already, but as this thread is nearing a thousand posts, I haven't been able to review each and every one of them. Anyway, I was doing a little reading on LTE Broadcast and from this layman's point of view, it seems pretty interesting. http://www.fiercebroadbandwireless.com/special-reports/lte-broadcast-gets-ready-its-close http://www.fiercebroadbandwireless.com/special-reports/lte-broadcast-multiple-use-cases http://www.fiercebroadbandwireless.com/special-reports/lte-broadcast-operators-hopping-board http://www.fiercebroadbandwireless.com/special-reports/lte-broadcast-mixed-takes-future Two Network Vision vendors, Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent, are working with Qualcomm to develop the technology. Verizon has shown the most interest of any US carrier. However, I think that this technology is now tailor made for Sprint's forthcoming TD-LTE network given their Clearwire purchase. With their tremendous spectrum depth and cell site density, now that they've announced that they're going to put 2.5GHz on all ~39K cell sites and beyond, Sprint has a great opportunity to offer differentiating services depending on how the technology develops. It'll be interesting to see if Sprint pursues this and who they might partner with. -
Motorola X? Anyway, Note III or a revised Galaxy S4 may be tri-band...With 800MHz LTE and 2.5GHz TD-LTE coming relatively soon, IMO it would kinda suck to get a phone that may be outdated (in a sense) a month or two after you've bought it.

At this point, you might as well wait to get a tri-band phone if you can.

Well, not exactly. His company posted a $54 million loss in Q2. ARPU slid 6.5% y-o-y while adjusted EBITDA plummeted 30% y-o-y. They've also reduced their 2013 full year EBITDA estimates as well. So while t-mobile definitely had a *good* Q2, it definitely wasn't all good.

I never specifically said anything about t-mobile users, so I'm not really sure what you're trying to get at there. Secondly, sure, there are general discussions about wireless spectrum and networks, but in particular Sprint & Network Vision. I suppose that only makes a bit of sense given what the "S" in S4GRU stands for.

It always makes me wonder why folks that apparently have such a low opinion of Sprint bother hanging around a site that focuses on...Sprint.

Nah, the Sprint GS2 does indeed support BC10.

I'm not really sure how to reconcile these two statements from the article: No matter I suppose. The original, ORIGINAL estimates for the completion of Network Vision was 5 years or some time in 2017 as I recall.
