  1. Just the acknowledgement of triband as official..hopefully is a good sign of Clearwire signing off with sprint.
  2. Even with 2 bars (dont know what that translates to dBm on iphone) that should be sufficient for most tasks. As long as its 2mb+ and decent pings.
  3. Im assuming you dont have wifi inside your home. If you dont, once 800Mhz LTE hits (and you have a proper device to support that) you will see increased signal strength. Also, your phone does support CDMA 800 so @ least voice/1x signal will improve.
  4. Yea the key really seems to be a high concentration of sites for better stability when it comes to 1900, well get there. At the very least, there is a confirmed site north of LI on Port Jeff, so that's a good sign for peeps out on the island.
  5. Somebody else mentioned that on the Long island thread, but I think its just bleedover from the Far rock side. Hopefully im wrong.
  6. These all sound like cancer inducing dBm...haha..
  7. I think the key is line of sight,1900 is very susceptible to slowdown due to obstruction. one corner away (within line of sight) max throughput is achievable, turn the corner and its considerably slower.
  8. There seems to be multiple ways of mitigating this, with more sites and using multiple frequencies, But it looks like unless the Yankees make it to the Post Season we wont see the benefits till next season.
  9. Your right, I didn't think to check that area for the unaccepted sites, that definitely should help alleviate a lot of the slow down..
  10. Unlimited data is awesome and all in theory but, really is a double edged sword. I am less than 2 miles from Yankee Stadium, and with baseball being a long season, it can be a hard pill to swallow.
  11. Also with that in mind, how does sprint plan to deal with a situation like Yankee Stadium, where its not just a stadium full of users, but also surrounded by a dense amount of residential users.
  12. Thanks for this Robert, we have been trying to decipher why sprints LTE pings were less susceptible to heavy user load, (like around yankee stadium during a game) than other carriers. This goes some ways to better understand that. Thanks again
  13. It would have been cool to at least chime in and help us better understand, but i guess us New Yorkers are not worthy
  14. And in this case your a part of the quantity...
  15. We somehow find ways to understand each other! But I concur, if Señor digiblur has something to add about sprints very good ping times, it would be greatly appreciated.
  16. So your saying you don't know what data packets are or Switches? lol
  17. I personally tend to avg about 5-12gigs of data a month, with the network in its current state (I would say I have LTE in about 40% of the places I go, and I am a somewhat heavy user) So my usage will probably climb another 30-40% once coverage is sorted. So I think anything over 30gigs a month would be rare, and should probably be considered abuse.
  18. It would be awesome! if this were the case! But i think the reality lies somewhere in the middle (maybe throttling for abusers)
  19. In the current state of the network, and the high volume of complaints, it would definitely cause a huge uproar to stop offering the unlimited plan. But, once LTE is fully deployed and we have great coverage, I think all options will be on the table. Here's hoping that the Softbank deal doesn't fall through, they are known to be extremely competitive!
  20. So no switch level optimizations? packet management etc??
