  1. I have the basic plan, 500 mb and then throttled to EDGE like speeds. -Luis
  2. It's much faster then what Tmobile throttles you to. I get max about 20 kbps, and it's still quite fast enough to refresh facebook and check certain websites. -Luis
  3. Oooooh. Ok. This makes sense too. Thank you for the information. It was still really fast for a packed Starbucks. -Luis
  4. Yeah I was extremely surprised. Its the one on US1 right in front of UMiami. I wish I had taken a screen shot. Maybe some day soon. I pass by there frequently. -Luis
  5. There's a Starbucks down here in Miami that has Google Fiber. It's fast as hell. I got 50 Mbps when it was full of people. -Luis
  6. That's kinda insane? But it will help them in the long run considering that EDGE is an old dying technology. Time to clean house lol. -Luis
  7. Oh, ok. I was thinking that it did include the phone subsidy since you separated each phone by retail price. If I can say one thing, not a negative or positive, with the cost of the phone it all comes to be around the same price. I do like how transparent it makes the pricing. It's like buying the device is separate from the service, which I believe is what most people don't come to understand. Great job on the sheet though, extremely informative. -Luis
  8. Hmmmm, I'm a little confused. Do the Framily Plan prices include the cost of the phone? Or are you considering that a whole different entity? -Luis
  9. I have Mime and I have never been happier. Unless I consciously remember that there is a screen protector I honestly always forget it's there. You can't go wrong, especially if you get some of the thinner ones. -Luis
  10. It's a bit unrealistic to think that new plans will be as cheap as old plans. As time moves on things get more expensive, it's the way our system works. Think about it, food is more expensive, so is gas, and houses, and cars, and even sodas, even minimum wage is higher. Why shouldn't telecommunication companies do the same? They are not offering you the same services as the legacy plans. Now you have more advanced phones that use more data naturally, you have faster data, and a more reliable network. If you think that you'll be getting the same services at the same price on a different plan then I'm sorry to inform you that the system just does not work that way. Now if you were to tell me that on your legacy plan you still have the same phone and don't take advantage of any of the new features of the plan, then I'll just say more power to ya. But don't expect to get more, and take advantage of newer things without coughing up the dough. Sprint needs to make money, and this is one way they will make it. Also, this is not you personally, but I've seen this rationale many times on this site... So with that said: /rant -Luis
  11. In the same vein, you could argue that for other plans. I used to pay for 1500 minutes (which was the minimum I could get) and I never used anything north of 300. So why should I pay for 1500 minutes? The reason is that then the plan becomes less about minutes and penny pinching here and there, and just about what you use. Kind of like paying for Internet for your home. They give you unlimited access (at certain speeds of course) but what if you only used 10 Gigs? It makes sense to me, TBH. I hated that I had to pay for 1500 minutes when I didn't use them, but the fact that there are no tiers just makes it nice to know that you will pay a flat fee all the time. It's all psychological. As far as your parents not using data, it's like my mom. She never used data until she got it. So you never know, maybe they will use it. -Luis
  12. They need to stop with the Vaseline smeared cameras. It's 2014 >_> But if this is any indication, it's a phone that's gonna be gorgeous -Luis
  13. our Southern man saw something amiss in the horizon. Upon realizing with horror he ran into his Soggy shack and...
  14. I had this issue with Instagram and Snapchat where the apps were messing with the camera. I uninstalled, reboot and now everything is working perfectly -Luis
  15. If it works like the Nexus (Maybe) you have to go to the dialer and head into settings there. It should give you an option of which voicemail service to use... If not then maybe heading into the VVM settings?
  16. Aaaaaaanyways... Who here was impressed with the S5? -Luis
  17. If I could just chime in really quick to add to what you're saying. People don't understand because the pricing has never been transparent, and unfortunately people don't like to have to think about things. If you tell someone that they have really been paying their phone off for two years, then the allure of a two year contract is not that enticing, when you consider that two year contracts are marketed as saving money on the phone and plans. The fact that people here still post about "earning" an upgrade just goes to show how well these companies have used the rewards system to keep customers coming back. This is the reason why people think they have "earned" their upgrade because they have done their two years, and people want to get something for all that time. -Luis
  18. The N5, simply put, is an amazing phone. And isn't sprint doing away with contracts? Regardless, I'm surprised they made the screen bigger by just .1 of an inch. They should have just kept the 5 inch screen is that's what they think the sweet spot is. -Luis
  19. Don't hold your breath. The N4 didn't drop in price until Google dropped it completely. Plus it's already so cheap with top of the line specs. How much more could you want? Also I want to reiterate some thoughts on here. I was a little excited for this Unpacked, but it became a massive yawn-fest once I saw the phone. Nothing new, moving along. -Luis
  20. So I finally saw this phone out in the wild. It's huge, and the bend is a little strange? Watching videos on it was horrible (probably due to the ridiculous amount of lights in BB) because the glare was the worst I've ever seen. Also the colors on this phone aren't the greatest, the whites tend to go a little gray(?) But other than that, I think, for me personally, I would have gotten this device had it been 4.7-5 inches, and the screen color reproduction was on par with other phones. Definitely a niche phone. -Luis
  21. If I remember correctly, it's the way HTC writes their software to prefer a stronger more usable 3g connection as opposed to a weaker but probably faster LTE connection. Just the way the phone handles connections. -Luis
  22. I played with the Note II yesterday, it's gargantuan! -Luis
  23. Oooooh no. I wasnt driving. I was a passenger that one time xD. But before Google play I used to stream music from YouTube so I would at times do that! -Luis
