  1. If what you all are saying is true, then I'm very disheartened. I would love to go back to sprint in maybe a year or two (if they let me that is) once the Spark update is out. Also, Battery Guru just finished learning last night. And it might be placebo, but I do see an increase in battery life. Normally my battery life at around 8:30 in the morning is 95%, but today is was at 98%. So one hour of use and it drained only 2%. I did talk on the phone this morning for half an hour, but it's now 10 am an I'm sitting at 89%. I'll post again maybe tomorrow, or better after the weekend to let you guys now if it really works or not. -Luis
  2. Makes sense. It just did it again btw. It went down to 81%, then when I checked it was back up to 82%. Now it's back to 81% Oh well, as long as it's nothing to be alarmed about -Luis
  3. LOOOL! In all seriousness though, should I be worried about this? Never had a phone that did this, so I'm not sure if it could be a hardware issue of a software glitch. -Luis
  4. So this morning, something unusual happened. I took my phone off the charger at 7:30, like I do every morning, and I used it for about half an hour, checking social media, looking up news, and what not. The phone went down to about 95%, which is fine. But then after about 5 minutes of putting it down, I checked and it said 96%. I clicked on the battery information and effectively the little line graph showed a slight increase. I'm a little worried this might be from a faulty battery, or should I chalk it up to a bug? -Luis
  5. I can't really offer any advice that hasn't already been postulated here. BUT I do know that there are tons and tons of threads about Lenovo and their finicky wireless cards. I can say from having the U310 that the wifi was horrible, but with the Yoga the wifi is amazing. So i just chalk it up to bad wireless configurations from Lenovo. -Luis
  6. I find Insurance to be a total scam. But I've had very good luck with my phones working reliably. I've had an HD7, the Sensation, the EVO LTE and the HTC ONE and not once have I ever had to replace the devices. The HD7 and Sensation are still running and still work with no hardware issues. I'm extremely careful with my phones. Now I have the Nexus 5, and likewise I have no intent on buying insurance... It's always nice to have it just in case, but that's just it... Just in case. And with 4 prior smartphones I never had a need for it. So just in case doesn't cut it for me. Hope this helps lol -Luis
  7. I love calling restaurants and having a food items pop up as their Caller ID. Unfortunately, when I see the food it makes me hungrier -Luis
  8. It only works if you have Simultaneous voice and data, and the Nexus 5 doesn't support either SVDO nor SVLTE on sprint. Basically you're SOL. -Luis P.S. Forgot to mention that it WILL work on wifi though o.o
  9. Another option would be to get one of those day passes from an MVNO that uses Tmo or ATT. The Nexus 5 supports both those networks. And I think ATT became the official cell phone provider for Universal, or was that Disney? -Luis
  10. I had the similar experience when I was with TMO two years ago. But now I am sitting at my desk with LTE. Also it really depends where you go, but so far I've yet to see EDGE anywhere I go... Just saying o.o -Luis
  11. Also the profanity was WAY too unprofessional for my liking. I may be part of the younger generation they want to appeal to, but damn, every other remark they throw at the other companies was riddled with profanities. I don't like that, and personally would have loved to see another spokesperson. Legere has a mind for media, but he's definitely not the best public image for the company. Hell I could have done a better job, and I don't believe myself to be a professional presenter by any means. In other words... It ain't cute. -Luis
  12. I did it for the lols. Definitely always been a fan of mad libs. -Luis
  13. Both my bosses (CEO & Senior VP) both love T-mobile, mostly because of their pricing and Legere. While these stunts do bring publicity, actions speak louder than words, and what T-mobile has been doing with pricing, makes them look more appealing. I can't necessarily testify to being drawn to it, but I did appreciate how transparent their pricing and phone plan is. This transparency is what's helping, because let's be honest, they DO NOT have the best coverage, nor the most robust network. But people get what they pay for, and some people like that. I can tell you that dealing with Tmo, their pricing plan is much simpler than Sprints. One price includes talk, text AND data, as opposed to the other carriers where it's talk plus text PLUS data. It's all too convoluted and people like simplicity. -Luis
  14. I have to agree with the posts above, he knows how to get media coverage. And if this makes people relate to him with the mentality that they get bullied by AT&T and so does the CEO of Tmo, then it makes people like him more. Makes him look a little more human and people see that he relates to their pain and suffering, so to speak. TBH I find this foolish, but like Robert said we're all falling for it by just talking about it. -Luis
  15. So the G-flex has been officially announced for Sprint, Tmo, and ATT. http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/01/06/ces-2014-lg-confirms-that-the-g-flex-is-headed-for-att-t-mobile-and-sprint-later-this-year/ -Luis
  16. I really like their bumper case. I might just get one... maaaaaybe. Also the case you mentioned looks like it could stop bullets. -Luis
  17. Well... You make a good point. -Luis
  18. So I finally received the MIME screen protector and it was great. until I noticed some discoloration of the protector. I'm getting a new one in the mail in about a week, and hopefully this one won't be having the same problems. -Luis
  19. :'( As much as I'm enjoying the Nexus 5, I would still like them to continue on with their build quality cause going back to a plastic phone is not so exciting. -Luis
  20. I hope they can improve on the amazing build quality of the HTC ONE. If they can do that, then they might just have a winner... But we all want more than just the basics lol MOAR RAM, MOAR GIGS! -Luis
  21. ah OK. Yeah I see what you mean. I'm on a prepaid plan. And I got the nexus so its not like I'm losing out on much money. You have to Google Tmobile prepaid and it's on the lower left part of the page. For some reason chrome does wanna let me copy the link. -Luis
  22. Thank you for your curt response. I never said that I was going to get that from sprint. Unfortunately sprint kicked me out cause I was roaming too much. So now I have a tmo plan for $30, which BTW has lower minutes and more high speed data ;P -Luis
  23. I don't think 4.4.3 is out yet. Is it? -Luis
  24. I think he meant being able to use either service by swapping out sim cards. Unless he found some way to actually use both services, which would imply the Nexus 5 has dual sim capabilities. There's another sim tray we don't know about O.O! -Luis
  25. It's not a software thing, it's a design of the radios. The way the radio is constructed will impact whether or not your phone will have only one radio on at a time. If this was possible, you would have been seeing it already in single band LTE phone in eCSFB markets already. Hope this helps. -Luis
