  1. So I finally unlocked and rooted the phone. I was able to back up all my app data and restore it to the way it was before hand (extremely handy since I hate setting up new phones from scratch) So far, I flashed over the Dalvik and Bionic optimizations and installed Xposed Framework. I'll post an update later or some time tomorrow to see if it helps with any overall improvement. -Luis P.S. If I had known how painless and easy it was to root a Nexus device I would be doing it in my sleep. So happy, there are one click methods
  2. I'd say the N5 for convenience, and ease of use. But the LG G2 has a massively beautiful screen. So go to a store and play with both, it all comes down to personal preference. Even though I think the G2 is one of the more good looking phones out there, the N5's understated utilitarian look appeals to me, and the phone just disappears into the background at times. It does everything marvelously, and there's nothing it can't do. I haven't played with the G2 too much, but I will say that if you don't mind overly customized skins, then the G2 might just be for you. -Luis
  3. Anyone having battery drain issues with Battery Guru? Last friday my phone didn't make it till 5 pm. Battery Guru was not doing it's job, but rather devouring the battery. I uninstalled it, and the phone got through a whole weekend day with over 50% Sat & Sun. Maybe something went haywire. -Luis
  4. Lol, they're both free now -Luis
  5. I was about to ask what he was talking about. But I get it now. -Luis
  6. It only had the Home and Back buttons. -Luis
  7. Never been a big fan of those tacky colors but that's looks really really nice... I want it! -Luis
  8. Just to add to this sentence, HTC also doesn't have a brand. Last year it was the One, the year before it was the One X(+,S,V), and the year before that it was the whole Sensation thing. Meanwhile Samsung has had Galaxy S(1-4) and Apple has Iphone(1-5S). If they continue the One moniker it will help them. Companies need to set a brand line that people start getting used to, and it makes it easier for people to identify the next product the company made. I would love to see HTC succeed, but these are simple facts that any large company needs to know. Hell even Motorola has a brand, and they just got sold off. Anyways, /rant. -Luis
  9. I wish I still had my One. Is the phone still as snappy as ever? Also, does 4.4.2 bring Photosphere? It's a feature I'm really liking on my N5. -Luis
  10. Chrome. It's simple, and clean. I dislike the clutter on FF, and IE is very slow and not visually appealing. -Luis
  11. I've noticed with Battery Guru, after it first start learning helped me squeeze out ever ounce of battery left. Now after about 2 weeks it doesn't save as much battery on times when I'm not really using the phone. For example, when I'm in the office, I pick up my phone only to text and to see some emails that come in every now and then. I'm not doing anything too intensive, so it doesn't seem to restrict sync on these hours. BUT, when I'm at home, I'll be watching youtube, looking up news, and talking on the phone, Battery Guru tends to keep the sync on lock down as I'll get more notifications on my tablet. I think Battery Guru does actually learn how you actually use the phone, and is not always so restrictive in it's battery conserving modes at times. With that said, I still have yet to get the phone down under 20%, considering before using the app I would almost always be at 5% by the time I got to bed. Same usage, but battery guru will extend the battery life. -Luis
  12. I was expecting a rumor about a new Dual Screen smartphone or something. I am disappoint -Luis
  13. Sounds like a funky device. Or maybe your GPS settings are put the Device only? I have it as battery saver and it's fairly accurate, but it has never jumped around. The only phone that ever did that to me was the EVO LTE. -Luis
  14. I've never been to a Kohl's. But they are building one down here, so one day I'll know what you are talking about! -Luis
  15. Trust me, once you try a glass screen protector you will never ever want to go back. It's literally as if your phone ever had a protector in the first place. I never liked plastic protectors because when applied wet, they tend to have the orange peel effect, and if not they feel stick after a while. Never, ever going back to plastic TEP protectors. -Luis
  16. Here's another alternative Glass protector: http://mimeusa.com/product/g2-ghost-glass-tempered-glass-screen-protector/ It's a tad pricey, but I bought one from my N5 and I always forget there is a screen protector. The best decision I ever made was getting this glass protector. Also how does flexible glass work? o.o -Luis
  17. Me neither. -Luis P.S. NVM I just saw the other post... I'm out of it today.
  18. I think Best Buy has the worst hold music. It's the same guitar riff looped over for 5 minutes... It drives me insane. -Luis
  19. You could only have them as 1 or 0 before the update correct? Also if that is true, shouldn't it be from highest band to lowest? That seems to make more sense to me... -Luis
  20. I think I got what you're asking. It could be since the Nexus 5 has an always scanning feature with WiFi battery guru doesn't necessarily have to turn on the WiFi. Unless you turned it off, but then again I don't think Battery Guru is that smart. -Luis
  21. Maybe it's my mentality of "if it ain't broken, don't fix it." Plus I've managed to brick enough devices to know how frustrating it can be to have a temporarily expensive paper weight. Maybe one day I'll get that itch again to root, but for now, I'm very happy just how it is -Luis
  22. Do I need to be rooted for this? Sorry for Noob questions. -Luis P.S. Nvm, I googled it and got my answer.
  23. Anyone interested in some rumors? http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/google-nexus-5-in-red-spotted-in-the-wild-yellow-variant-also-rumoured-475074 -Luis
