  1. Sprint Windows Phone hits FCC? (or is it the One SV AJ noted today?): http://www.engadget....dows-phone-fcc/
  2. You're right. VZ is the official wireless sponsor of the NFL. Sprint is the official wireless sponsor of the NASCAR and NBA.
  3. I saw yesterday they also have a "refer a friend" reward program again. If you refer someone to Sprint, you both get a $25 AMEX card. https://refer.sprint...2013114:REF:REF
  4. Think this is another Samsung device coming to Sprint? Samsung devices on Sprint usually start with "SPH," I believe; the Samsung Victory: SPH-L300. This is SPH-L500. GSIII Mini??? https://www.bluetoot...L.cfm?qid=20389
  5. Looks like the record has been set for most speed tests in 1 minute! ;-) Great speeds, though! (Don't let AJ see that! ;-) )
  6. Yea, iDen is unlikely... I don't even think they sell those anymore. But, it could be PTT button for Sprint Direct Connect/PTT. Similar to what you see on the Kyocera Dura-line of Phones.
  7. Not sure if you're still updating this list Josh, but I saw this article this morning. The Kyocera Torque: http://phandroid.com...era-torque-fcc/ It appears to be some kind of "rugged" Android device coming to Sprint, with LTE and NFC support. Edit: One commenter on the article suggested that there is possibly a PTT button on the side of the phone. This might actually be a good device for some.
  8. LOL It would take pictures just fine... it was only the flash that was disabled. Similar to how the flash is disabled when the battery level is low.
  9. I've never worried about RAM either, and every time I have, whether its with some app killer app or whatever, it just causes problems. I wouldn't get fixated on some number/spec, just let Android do its thing. Can't say I've ever had an issue due to RAM. And that dates back to Eclair. Slightly off topic but, in Phx we've been having some very cold weather, by our standards anyway, with lows of about 29 the last couple days. I went on a hike at 0530, went to take a picture, and noticed a message pop up at the bottom of the screen saying something to the effect of, Flash is disabled due to cold temperature. First time I've seen that! I'm sure its not a discovery, but just throwing it out there. It was certainly new to me. Also, I've hiked this trail just north of Phx numerous times, but have taken a 3 or 4 month hiatus from it. I used get very poor Sprint signal on the back side of the mountain, if any. Roaming was pretty iffy as well. Streaming Google Music was out of the question. Today I noticed I had strong Sprint signal the entire time. It was brought to my attention when I noticed that I could stream Google Music the entire hike, whereas before I definitely could not. Not sure If Sprint put up a new tower in the area, or fixed something on an old one. But, major signal improvement.. it was cool!
  10. Well, 400kbps up/down is fine for most applications, regardless. However, I was in Vegas just before Christmas, and I was impressed with the Sprints data performance. I stayed at the Venetian, and on the casino floor I was able to get around 1400kbps Down. Another speedtest was on the casino floor of Harrah's and got over 1300kbps down. I only did two or three tests while I was there, so my assessment is far from conclusive however, I did use data on my phone all the time and it performed admirably. Now, I don't know if these casino's had Sprint repeaters or not, but the data was great.
  11. Didn't know that... I must have been absent that day.
  12. I don't have paypal, but I have successfully made multiple donations via the link on the site. Just type in all your info to the left of the paypal log-in.
  13. Yea, I already had it on, but never messed with it since the update. I have been searching all of my Google apps to find the G Now settings again, which is why I feel like an idiot for asking. lol Checking all the features out now for the first time.
  14. Thanks a lot, man! Wow, Google Now does look pretty cool. Not sure If I want to turn it off, since I haven't seen a decrease in battery life at all since the JB update. Battery life is still one thing that I am very impressed with on the EVO. Thx again.
  15. I feel like such an idiot for asking, but how do you get to the Google Now settings?
  16. Could it be that they are using info based off when there were hand off issues between legacy equipment and Network Vision equipment? I would imagine this issue is largely fixed at this point based on the rapid NV deployment in Chi.
  17. Your theory regarding the LTE connectivity issues on the EVO LTE may or may not be true however, I would not consider the increased battery capacity, kickstand, SD card slot, and physical camera button that the EVO has over the One X "dumb design decisions" that Sprint "forced" upon HTC.

    LG Optimus G

I went into a Sprint store today to burn an upgrade on the $50 dollar SGSIII deal they have going, but when I saw the LG Optimus G in person and had the opportunity to compare it to the SGSIII side by side, I left empty handed. I have to reconsider now. I know everyone "rags" on LG because of their history but, if you look at Samsung's history, it sucked until recently, too. My brother is currently using the original Epic/Galaxy S and, what a piece of junk that is. One thing people need to realize is, things can change. If Samsung can go from pathetic radio performance and delayed upgrades to leading the pack, why cant LG? I'm a car fanatic so, I'll use that as another example; I would have never considered Hyundai 10 years ago but, now they impress, just look at the Sonata, Genesis, or Equus. So, I ask, why cant LG do the same as Hyundai and Samsung have? With the Optimus G, I think they just did. Edit: On another note, all 4 corporate Sprint stores within reasonable driving distance of my home in Phx had sold out of the SGSIII by noon today. The one I went to said they had 14 in stock. However, they were still allowing purchase of the phone at the 50 dollar price and guaranteeing delivery within 5 days. But, after seeing the LG Optimus G, I still had to reconsider.
  19. I don't know about the apple stuff but, you can do a lot (besides video games) with a PlayStation 3 connected to your TV, including Vudu.
