  2. I should have clarified that I offload to Wifi whenever I'm home as well. I usually travel Mon-Thurs for work each week with limited wifi availability. I have two weeks at home this upcoming billing cycle, so it will be interesting to see usage for this next one.
  3. MVNO's possibly have some 'network management' applied? Just an off the cuff guess - I really have no idea. Here is the blurb on 'enhanced LTE' straight from Virgins website:
  4. I revoted now that I logged on and saw average usage over the past 12 months:
  5. 2 days left in this cycle and I am at 29.98gb. This my heaviest usage month by far - other months are all 17gb or less. Used a lot of tethering over the past 3 weeks (work and kids iPads) + a metric crapload of speed tests.
  6. I can confirm that the US Cellular conversion is also now up and operational in Fairbury, IL.
  7. Noticed that most speed test screen shots from the HI market seem to have 100ms+ pings. Is this par for the course in this market?
  8. Another data point. Iphone 6+. Just updated to 55025. Anybody noticed any changes yet?
  9. I'll agree and add that I think that by 2017, the cellular market will be altogether more competitive than it is even now. 2017 would be too late for any 'merger' talk - because at that point, I really feel like both TMO and Sprint will both be positively gaining ground on the 'big two.' The tide is shifting - and although I'm a Sprint fan - I'm excited to see ANY cell carriers progress vs the ATT/VZW duopoly.
  10. Call it 'network management.' Call it 'throttling'. Call it whatever you want - peoples speeds are being reduced due to overuse and/or congestion. So unlimited. Much 'Uncarrier.'
  11. Data point: Sprint Customer on ED1500 plan. Last 12 months have ranged from 4.8gb to a high of 22.1gb worth of data in a month. Average is 13.2gb. I travel weekly for work, and am all over the place. Only time I offload to WIFI is when I'm at home Fri-Sun, or if Sprint network is too slow to reliably use facetime. As others have mentioned, and based off of my data usage habits, I can feel like I can safely say that burning through more than 20gb a month on a phone (without tethering) is going to be extremely difficult. I feel like I use the **** out of my phone.
  12. Well this sure doesn't sound like a very 'uncarrier' type of thing to do.
  13. Gonna hop into this market thread and start reading. I will be doing a 6 week stint for work in Rochester in a few months.
  14. AJ nailed it. I also run a two-router setup. Covers our entire 3/4 acre lot and I have excellent signal everywhere in the house.
  15. This does nothing but further solidify my decision to not go to 8.3 yet.
  16. I don't understand why this is a bad thing. Did another source indicate they were immediately shutting down equipment manufacturing for the Alcatel side of the house? My assumption (while probably incorrect) is that nothing will change in the near term other than AP/AR header information saying Nokia now instead of Alcatel - and the back office updates to make that happen. Did I miss something that indicated Alcatel was going to be effectively shut down?
  17. After further contemplation - I really have very little need for wifi calling. There is tower that is part of Project Ocean in our town that is not live yet - but it will solve 99.9% of my Sprint coverage issues. I literally will have zero use for wifi calling once that tower goes live. That's how good Sprint coverage has been for me personally.. While I do think it would be neat to have for traveling out of the country - my normal travels around the continental US really have little to no need for wifi calling. I just wanted it because the android guys had it. ????
  18. Same here. Does not show up. I'm back to just waiting for a 8.3 Jailbreak.
  19. Reboot of the ole PC fixed it. Was able to get the carrier file installed. Unfortunately, I have now run into another issue. Every time I try to turn on wifi calling, I get a pop-up saying "To allow Wi-Fi calls on this account, contact your carrier." Bah.
  20. ... and no HD calling unfortunately for Sprint numbers. Bleh.
  21. another update - when getting to the point of selecting the ipcc file, itunes will only let a dude select an ipsw file.
  22. Another update - tested multiple times with my wifes 6+ and it worked like a champ.
