  1. Related note - i really wish there was a NC toggle to turn it on and off. If I have fantastic Sprint signal - I'd rather use the network than wifi for calling.
  2. Interesting. When I clicked the link earlier - it led to file download that was identified as EE ipcc. When I actually downloaded the file, it was titled TMobile_uk_iPhone.ipcc. Now when I go to the link, it says Sprint, and the file is titled: Sprint_CSIM_LTE_US_iPhone.ipcc I'll keep an eye on the reddit page - I dont want to be the first that does it. lol
  3. Where can we get the Sprint Carrier File? The link included includes the EE one only.
  4. I've decided to patiently await an official jailbreak release before updating my phone to 8.3. My wifes phone, on the other hand...
  5. So now the big choice happens: Stay on my jailbroken 8.1 and keep mywi? OR, update to 8.3, lose jailbreak and mywi, but gain wifi calling? Sadface.
  6. http://support.sprint.com/support/article/FAQs_about_Sprint_WiFi_calling/173e331f-8423-453e-93cb-4688f6a91f67 Look about half way down the page under the header that says "What phones support Wi-Fi Calling?" Soon™ ???? EDIT: confirmed. Wifi calling is active on 8.3 and Carrier bundle 19.1.
  7. Just updated from 51105 to 55023 here as well. Still carrier bundle 18.0.
  8. Thanks for the clarification. There are still some in the Central IL and Chicago markets that do not have acceptances of any kind yet... wonder if the 100 count will be eclipsed...
  9. 93 USCC conversions noted by cdk. 77 noted by Robert. Anyone know where the difference comes from?
  10. GCI's are 8 characters correct? I thought I had read that it went something like this: XXX_XXX_XX. First set of XXX is market ID. Second set of XXX is tower identifier. Third XX is sector. Is that correct? Reason I ask is that on at least a few towers here - I am seeing different tower identifiers for B41 compared to B25/B26. My area is rural enough that I can see the full breadth of connection from B41 to B25 to B26 to 3G to 1x. Not so concerned about 3g and 1x, but the LTE GCI discrepancies are confusing the **** out of me.
  11. Hearing the same thing from folks in Central IL. Calling and texting is not working. Have not heard anything beyond that.
  12. Yes - I did spy it. It looked like there was NOT two antennas per sector (indicative of B41) - at least not yet. I did not get close because from a distance (Canoga) it looked like the site was mounted on top of that Yacht place...? Regardless - it seemed like the height was VERY low compared to most actual cell towers that I am used to seeing. Was with a coworker that is a AT&T guy - so I didnt want to spoil his night by doing hardcore hunting.
  13. Just peeked at the Premier Sponsor maps and realized that I may soon find MUCH improved service at the hotel (Hilton in Woodland Hills) Gonna go for a walk tonight and see what I can find.
  14. Just wanted to add a data point. I am in Van Nuys on Strathern (near the bud plant) and B41 is miserable here compared to other places I have been. I'm connected to a Clear tower tower currently: Ping: 92ms Download: 3.26Mbps Upload: 6.18Mbps Is this standard fare for the area? I'm staying at the Hilton in Woodland Hills and am not grabbing B41 there at all. B25 is dismal... Less than .5Mbps download speeds. I guess I've been spoiled with the Chicago speeds - but I really thought the greater Los Angeles area would perform better than this.
  15. Will be interesting to see. I thought the traditionals up there were Alaska Communications and GCI. Read online that Alaska Communications effectively sold their wireless business to GCI. I know that Verizon has native coverage up there now, but beyond that - I'm not sure what other options there are. HMMMMMMMMM.
  16. Unfortunately the same thing they have been saying since November.
  17. My question was more along the lines of - has anyone ever seen anything other than the number 2 in the Tx Antennas field. Mine populates if I toggle airplane mode, OR if my phone switches bands while I'm in Field Test.
  18. I honestly have never seen it show more than 2 tx antennas. On my phone - if it is on an 8T8R site - toggling airplane mode puts me back on B25 for a second, then it seems like tower says 'ok... move him over to B41' - but I have never seen the number of TX antennas move to anything other than null or 2. Has anyone seen it actually say something other than that?
  19. I'm not sure what took so long for them to start firing B41 in B/N, but once they started - it seems like its happening quick. Good good news. Do you work at the Marriott?
  20. Agree that is an option. The other option is to just disable LTE - and this is the route we take. My wife is familiar enough with phones to at least remember to do it. It will all be a moot point once Sprint activates the USCC site they are converting in our town as signal will be plenty strong - but it just sucks in the interim.
  21. Thats a tough deal man. Really it is. Danvers/Mackinaw/Minier combined probably has a population count high enough to justify a tower but the way the towns are spaced probably makes it a tough call. I know there are, or at least were, US Cellular towers in Danvers and Minier. I've not been out that way in quite some time - have you driven by those sites and tried to see if there is any new activity at the site? Sprint is converting an old USCC tower here in my town - and have done so with a bunch of other sites scattered throughout Central IL, Chicago, and Missouri. If Sprint did not gobble those sites up - already existing towers - it probably does not look good for physically adding a brand new tower structure. Hopefully I'm wrong and you guys can get some Sprint love out there!
