  1. For anyone else tracking a USCC tower conversion - has anyone seen one actually lit up yet? The one local to me is still not live. Fans sound like the are buzzing along in the base stations, so some equipment in there is at least 'turned on' - but nothing live yet.
  2. The answer is 'sufficient.' Peoria has B41 lit up on some towers - Bloomington/Normal is still B25/B26 for now. Anywhere from 10-20mb down for me whenever I'm in B/N though.
  3. Jailbroken iOS user here. I travel weekly so have opportunity to hit MANY different towers over the course of a week. Let us know when this bad boy hits a repo!
  4. Thanks.. wife and I went for a drive this morning and found another USCC tower that is in the process of being converted in Flangan, IL. Base Stations were mounted - lines were dangling from the top of the tower, and all the new antennas and RRU's were on the ground. All USCC Equipment remained up top - but it appeared they were ready to get started!
  5. Same situation here. USCC came through 2-3 years ago and plopped towers all over this area in small towns - all that I have visited indicate they are legitmately USCC owned. I did however read an article on fierce wireless that said that they recently sold 500+ towers to Vertical Bridge. Not sure of what towers specifically - but it's possible that Veritcal Bridge still needs to get signage and stuff updated. *shrug* The converted tower here is still not broadcasting. Appears that all the ground work has been done for nearly a month now - but no sign of the switch being flipped.
  6. Yes. Just make sure the settings are flipped on for Voice Roaming (and data roaming if desired as well.)
  7. Where do you live? B/N has LTE pretty much everywhere. No B41 yet - at least last I was in town last week. Some of the more rural areas where where USCC had towers before the Sprint buyout now has those towers being converted to full build Sprint sites. Not all - but some. North Central IL (outside of the larger towns like Pontiac) will be covered with the RRPP program through Illinois Valley Cellular. Not sure when that will happen exactly - but the agreement has been reached. I think it is just waiting on IVC to get their equipment upgraded.
  8. NICE. Another USCC tower convert!
  9. This - I believe was one of the old USCC towers. There are multiple spottings scattered around north central IL in rural areas of USCC equipment coming down and full-build Sprint equipment going up. None live up here yet - I'm sure it's just a matter of time.
  10. I have always been a 'case man' but not after getting the 6+. Had a case on it for for a month or so but it felt too bulky - even with a slim case. It has slipped out of my hands once or twice but never out of the house. Has landed on concrete once and survived. Has also landed on wood and carpet. If I do drop and break it - I'll use up one of the AppleCare replacement deals. I really enjoy being case-less now.
  11. I just was searching through older posts of mine and came upon this thread. I have an interesting update on this one! Sprint must have done some deal with USCC, because guess what is going up on the tower that USCC owns that has been 'decommissioned' ?? THAT'S RIGHT - FULL-BUILD SPRINT EQUIPMENT! I've also posted about this update in the Premier Sponsor section - but wanted to update the remainder of the masses as well. Oddly enough - the sectors are pointing in the exact directions I suggested in the above post - W, NNE, and SE. I'm sure this is just a coincidence - but extremely satisfying regardless. My excitement is impossible to contain. Its actually sort of sad. Since seeing the equipment myself - I STILL wonder when I'm going to wake up from this dream!
  12. Just wanted to pop in here and say howdy. I'm in the Bay area through the first week of December. Working at client sites in San Leandro and Newark. Staying at the Embassy Suites just south of SFO. Normal commute has me on LTE nearly the entire trip to both locations. I generally do not dig into which band I am hitting unless things seem unreasonably slow, but have seen all 3 bands at some point during my time here. I lose LTE momentarily when crossing the San Mateo bridge and it seems like I drop back to 3G when I'm near the Facebook HQ, but beyond that, things have seemed very good.
  13. Still impatiently awaiting iPhone 6 wifi calling on Sprint. really, Really, REALLY want to get rid of this damn Airave!
  14. Would love to see the changes on this one.
  15. Is the RRPP agreement ONLY for LTE coverage? The reason I ask is a specific one - Iphone 6. Calls obviously go out over 1X. There is a single Sprint true GMO tower (no 800) to cover this large area. Are the RRPP agreements inked in a way that also includes 1x voice coverage? Or is this just 'data only' (since it is LTE) until VoLTE is opened up in the future?
  16. Is any information known in regards to the actual agreement(s) between Sprint and Illinois Valley Cellular? Looking up FCC docs, it appears IVC is operating in this frequency range: 835-845 paired with 880-890 and 846.5-849 paired with 891.5-894 However, Sprint SMR is this frequency range, correct?: 806-824 paired with 851-869 Which leads me to the following questions: Will IVC be utilizing Sprint's SMR Freqencies? PCS? TDD? Or will they simply allow Sprint users to 'hop' onto the IVC network/frequencies? This could get awfully interesting.
  17. No problems with that article. It does nothing more than prove that the Note 4 - just like the iphones - will bend if significant force is applied. : shrug :
  18. Finally moving along now. Waiting for my phone to come back up so I can get on the road and head home!
  19. finally downloaded and installing now. installing awfully slow. "Verifying updated iPhone software..." Progress bar on the phone shows about half way through - but it has not moved for a solid 3 minutes.
  20. A little jealous of you guys who were able to get the 6p's ordered early and are getting them on the 19th. I was hopeful my 3-4 week delivery estimate was going to change to 'WE'LL HAVE IT TO YA ON THE 19TH!' but I should have known better.
  21. Downloading now through itunes for my ip5. Total download size is 1.67gb. I've read that if you do OTA, the files are MUCH MUCH larger. Wifi at my clients office is horribly slow. "74 minutes remaining."
  22. Flip flopped around trying to decide if I was going to wait in line on release day or preorder and finally settled on pre ordering. And now I wait. 3-4 weeks is what the current estimate is. I'm hopeful that it doesn't take quite that long.
  23. I am really probably more frustrated than I should be about the majority of the phones being 3-4 weeks out for shipping if you pre-order. I wonder if it makes more sense at this point to plan on heading to an Apple Store first on the 19th - and if there is a huge line - go to the closest Sprint store. I'd hope that they have certain quantities set aside for in-store purchases.
  24. Boner. Space Gray 64gb iP+ is now 3-4 weeks out? WTF?
