  1. This is a great quote. Brought a smile to my face. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  2. Yes they can. But will they? Also, we have had members connect to CDMA 800, Channel 476 in the Baltimore market. So there are some carriers live there. However, we have only one 800 accepted site in the whole BAWA region. But there is more broadcasting, but not accepted. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  3. Patterns? No. Things are still moving in the Orlando market. I imagine you will see sites start going live in both cities in the next 30-60 days. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  4. In my comparison of 10 devices earlier this Fall, the radio performance of the GS3 was among the best devices. You must have a lame one. That's a shame to not be able to enjoy the great radio performance. Any chance of getting it swapped out? Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  5. If memory serves, Shentel had fiber to nearly half of its sites before Network Vision started, and Shentel already is a fiber backhaul provider for others in areas it serves. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk

  7. I just want to know if 80GHz devices are covered under Obama care? Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  8. It varies. Sites have gone live on the weekends some times. So work must be occurring on the weekends at times. I don't have any specifics about crew scheduling. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  9. It was a lean week in the whole state of Texas. It's almost like no inspection happened there this week. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  10. No detailed info about dates in the Milwaukee market yet. Work should be starting in the next 30-60 days. Robert
  11. The LTE rollout is much faster than WiMax. WiMax was deployed from 2008-2011 and only in 71 cities. Sprint is actively deploying LTE in more cities right now than WiMax did in total. Sprint will wrap up 700+ cities in less time than Clearwire deployed 71. You could say that Sprint is deploying 10x faster. The reason people get confused about WiMax deployment, is they don't realize that Clearwire had been deploying WiMax for two years before Sprint sold the EVO. And most of the markets launched in 2010 had been under deployment long before they went live. If you could have seen weekly updates of Clearwire deployment in the way you see S4GRU, you'd be underwhelmed. Just like if people could see how long Verizon works in a market before they get LTE service, they may be a little more understanding. At least at Sprint we get to use LTE service immediately after a site is ready. The Verizon site near my house had panels and MW backhaul installed in February 2012, but the site didn't go live until December. However, VZW customers were oblivious that work was going on. But at Sprint, we have S4GRU. There is no V4GRU. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  12. Panel installs is a good sign, but does not mean the site is complete. They may be waiting on backhaul to be completed before they can set up cabinets and get things provisioned. We have some sites in Kansas that have had panels installed 4-5 months ago and still not live. However, in most cases panel installs to site being live is 30 days or so Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

  14. Yep, and it will be in my next map update I post, too. Robert
  15. I'm using that to marry up the Shentel LTE site number report I received on Black Friday with locations on the Sprint site. It's a slow process, but I have completed all the sites in PA, MD and WV. Will try working on the VA sites later this week. Robert
  16. I had a donation yesterday that I couldn't figure out who it was from. I sent back an email asking for the screen name, but I didn't get a response. But now that I read your post, I now know who it's from. Thanks for supporting S4GRU. Robert
  17. Oh, I definitely agree with you. I'm just illustrating that most customers are not willing to pay more for higher speeds. People just want consistency in the experience all over the network. People that want speeds greater than what a 5MHz LTE carrier can provide are a minority, especially if they have to give up unlimited or pay more for it. Robert
  18. I cannot feel the difference between 12Mbps and 5Mbps (which my DSL slows down to at night) on my smartphone. No difference in any of the apps nor streaming. The only thing that I can do to notice the difference is to download large files. And I do not download anything larger than a couple hundred MB's on my phone. And that is not a frequent occurrence. If you need mega ultra high speed mobile downloads in lieu of ultra high speed mobile data, find another carrier. I bet when you run through your data allotment with another carrier, Sprint's LTE speeds will seem pretty darn fast. How fast does your car go? Did you know that they make cars that go double or triple the top speed of your car? Why don't you buy them? Because they are expensive and there is a car in your price range that meets your needs. That is Sprint LTE. We need to get back to reality with our data desires and pair it with our needs. I'm a broken record here, but most people reject higher speeds at home with ala carte pricing. The average American has 6Mbps internet at home and it meets their needs. They aren't willing to pay more for faster speeds. If we implemented an increased cost for faster speeds on mobile wireless internet, most smartphone users would still select approx. 6Mbps, because they would realize there is little advantage for faster mobile speeds and would be wasting money. 19. Reading the comments on Kevin's article is painful. It makes me thankful to have a forum like S4GRU. I see that AJ responded to one of the trolls over there. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  20. The problems you are experiencing can be unrelated to Network Vision. These types of problems occurred even before NV started occasionally. You should report your problems to Sprint. Make sure you get a ticket number if you do. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
