  1. Samsung still cannot spell "engineering" apparently. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  2. For EVDO, you have to look at the PN on the EVDO Engineering screen. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  3. In the S4GRU Sponsor section, we have maps that show completed sites. We update the maps every day or two with the latest accepted sites. For more information about how to become a S4GRU Sponsor, you can check out this page: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/
  4. GMO is described in this article. NV means Network Vision. Network Vision is Sprint's program to re-build it's entire network from the ground up. All new hardware and backhaul at every one of their 38,000+ sites. Network Vision started in November 2011 and will complete in 2014.
  5. Let me be clear about something. Information from our Sponsor section is not allowed to be discussed in public sections. Period. No matter how trivial it seems to you. If you want to discuss something from the Sponsor section, post about it in the Sponsor section. Don't give me the line you got the info from a permit site. Sponsors get site info from our maps. You aren't going to go look up a Site ID from a government agency if you are a sponsor and looking for a site ID. You're going to look at our maps. Only a fraction of permit sites list the Site #. Only 10% of Sprint Site ID's are available in public places. And not even half of sites have the ID's visible even at the physical site. The only comprehensive place to find Sprint site info is S4GRU. As for Non Sponsors, they may pick up a site number from being physically onsite, or a permit website. That's fine. Obviously non sponsors do not have access to the Sponsor forums and must have got their info from somewhere else. We expect Sponsors to follow the rules. And you will lose your access if you continually disregard them. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  6. Sprint knows that in some urban places with less site density and EVDO spectrum deficiency, they need to deploy LTE on more than G Block by the end of 2013, or some urban LTE sites are going to start have performance reducing. In many markets, they can add another PCS LTE carrier. However, some, like Chicago, they cannot in the short term. In the next 18 months, they can add another PCS LTE carrier in Chicago after they can use the USCC spectrum they purchased. But until then, places like Chicago, Houston and others will need LTE 800 and possibly LTE 2600 to offload onto. And Sprint needs to start selling those devices soon, otherwise no devices will be capable of offloading on the new bands when they go live. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  7. In my testing, the S3 only had a 1-3dBm improvement over the EVO LTE. For something that drastic, they must have been connected to different sites. Which is not unusual. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  8. AT&T likes to post signs all over the sites they are located. Kind of like a dog pissing on a fire hydrant...marking his turf. I don't know why the tower owners allow it. There are very few GMO sites on the Florida peninsula. I wouldn't figure any sites in your area are GMO's. For information about sponsorship, visit this thread: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Thanks. 9. Data Capacity = Additional 3G EVDO carrier It allows more 3G traffic on a site. It usually does not involve additional panels unless the existing panels are completely maxed out and cannot support more carriers. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  10. No. However, LTE signal air link is more fragile. So with a weak signal, 3G EVDO is likely to make it indoors than LTE. And that's true of every LTE network, regardless of carrier or frequency. My VZW LTE 750 also doesn't work as well at the edge of service as VZW EVDO on 850MHz., Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  11. Thanks for the update. These sites are still In Progress and not accepted yet. So they probably will not perform better yet. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  12. I'm in Bernalillo right now driving to ABQ and I can confirm I am on EVDO also. No eHRPD on my note 2. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  13. This is true of every market. The switch for each market is also being upgraded to Network Vision standards. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  14. Just a reminder to all of you that I will be very busy the next few weeks. My availability will be quite limited at times. Today will be an exceptionally busy day for me. I am really behind on personal messages. Thank you for your understanding. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  15. That article is pointless. Nothing new happened recently in those markets. LTE has been live in all three for months. Service areas grow more and more every week. Orlando is an active deployment area. Lots of crews working in the area. As each site completes, it goes live for customer traffic. More and more sites go live in the Orlando market every week. In the Sponsor area of our site we have maps that show new sites. And it is updated every few days. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  16. The Sprint sites in the area are shown on the map. I was amazed at how many locations I was incorrect about until I had maps of all the Sprint sites. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  17. These comments are becoming ad nauseum. Please do not post the same thing week after week. It will come, and we know you're waiting. Complaining to us again and again is getting annoying. It will be done when it is done and there is nothing we can do about it. Samsung is the most aggressive OEM of them all. They want to be done with Chicago. If they are not complete, it is because they can't. It's not as if they do not like you or your neighborhoods. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  18. It wasn't news. Nothing new happened that was worth reporting. LTE service started going live months ago in those cities, and the service has grown from there, and continues to grow. Nothing happened in the past few days that is worthy of reporting. It's kind of like posting an article now that says Obama won the election. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD
  19. And here I thought it was a reward to old Farmer Magillicuddy for winning first place for his prized Steer at the Mizzurah State Fair and Gun Show. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

    Married to it

It sure is. Grumpy Cat is one of my wife's favorites. Robert
  21. Sprint has said internally they are trying to get 800 service to 80% of their sites. However, some of these 20% not getting 800 will be urban sites too close to other 800 sites. So, the final number of GMO's is approximately 15%, give or take a few percentage points.
  22. Not yet. But deployment is over the whole market, including Redlands. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  23. The CC signal is most likely coming from the site out toward FMB. There have been no new sites accepted in the area yet. Unless it is phantom testing. The signal strengths coming from the CC side show it is definitely distant. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  24. There are still two sites out toward GA on US 301 that no one has mapped. They've been sitting there for weeks. Don't you guys in JAX spend your weekends out in the Okeefenokee??? Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
