    They are working on something and need to take it offline. If it is more than one tower in an area, then it is likely cluster signal optimization. If it seems to be over a large chunk of the market, it could be related to the LTE core. As digiblur has said above, they are not turning off sites to build anticipation or to have a grand lighting ceremony for launch day. Once a site is accepted and goes live, it stays live. But it may go off and on as needed to be worked on. And prior to launch, it is common for LTE signals to go on and off, in all markets. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk

    To clarify, we have confirmed that GMO work is getting underway in the UCV. However, full builds may or may not also be getting under way. We have no recent info about full builds there.     Not likely. Pretty much all the sites inspected and signed off as complete from Sprint are currently live. The odds of them going out and inspecting 100's of sites all at once and turning them on immediately is very, very low. They haven't done anything like that in any market so far with the Network Vision program. And the most LTE sites ever accepted in one week is about 50-60. And even that is very uncommon.     If you load maps or run speed tests, then it can start to pile on quickly. And based on your posts, I'd guess you run Sensorly non stop and do a lot of driving. Additionally, it could be near zero if you wanted it to, as you do not have to upload over the Sprint network. However, just the compiling of network data is a very low data consumption rate.     There are occupied homes with panels on them in Puerto Rico that I've seen. Also, there is one in Contra Costa County, California where the panels are attached to a wooden pole that is attached to the side of a house. And that house is occupied. I live within 250' of a site. There's no reason why you cannot live next to a site. I'd be more concerned about that cell phone that we sleep with next to our heads. Robert via Nexus 7 with Tapatalk HD

    I've seen too many times where people feel they should use as much unlimited data as possible because that's what they feel they paid for. Some confuse unlimited with infinity. My tenants in the home behind me also found out that even though I included electricity in their rent, it didn't mean they could use as much as they physically could possibly muster.     Yes, Sensorly uses a microscopic amount of data. It's just text of GPS coords and numbers of signal strength observed, etc. And you can even have it only upload off network if you prefer. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk

    Signals are turned off frequently in unlaunched markets as they work on the network. It's not an issue of signal weakening. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk

    Sprint brings Network Vision 3G upgrades online in clusters. So backhaul, may or may not be the culprit in your instance. If your site is complete, they will inspect and accept it. But your device will stay on the legacy side until the all the sites within your cluster are done. Then they will do E911 drive testing for the whole cluster. If it passes, they will bring online the 3G Network Vision side and turn off the legacy. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
