  2. They ran into San Juan to get things up and running to launch. They'll probably get back to the NE Coast in a few weeks. They may finish the market in the next month. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
  3. The signal goes really far when you're above the ground clutter. Another site may have gone live today, but as of yesterday there was just one site live in the Olympia/Ft. Lewis area. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks TS. My thoughts exactly. I appreciate you eloquating it so clearly. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
  5. They'll likely start about the same time. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
  6. Great find. Good job. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
  7. If members find a site, they should PM me whatever info they find. Cross streets, GPS coords, etc. If you are able to glean a site ID from the site, then that's great. But certainly not required. If I know where a new site is, I can usually find out the rest of the info. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
  8. My point is that there is no resource that shows all the sites in the country, but we do. We show every site in the country that existed before Fall 2011. We also have every site added since Spring 2012. There are probably a dozen or two sites added in that 4-5 month that are not in our database. However, we have added about 6 or 7 from this period that have been brought to our attention by members. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
  9. I really like it. It's sized right. 1x and EVDO RF Performance seems quite good on 1900. Solidly with the top performers. It's performance on 850 Cellular is not quite as good, but definitely acceptable. I haven't tried it on LTE yet I like the form factor and screen more than the GS3. Phone call quality is great. It will hold on to very weak 1x and EVDO signals, more so than any other device. However, it's not usable beyond -106dBm just like most other devices. So this is not an advantage. Many people report to me that the LGOG is a better RF Performer because of this. But it still is on par with the GS3, Note 2 and Photon OG. It seems better because it won't drop until -116dBm RSSI. This is a problem to me though, because it prevents you from roaming. If the signal is unusable between -106dBm and it -116dBm, it might as well roam at that point. My biggest complaint is battery life. Its the same as the nexus 4. Giving me all day life if I don't use it. About 8 hours with moderate use. About 3-4 hours of heavy usage. I like the LG Android Overlay a lot. Much better than TouchWiz I also like having EVDO and LTE bars. This is the highest quality LG product I've ever used. My wife is already angling to take this device and give up her EVO LTE. She keeps trying to get me to go back to my Note 2. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
  10. Sprint nor Clearwire has had WiMax operating in the USVI since I have been following them back in April 2011. And I highly doubt they had it before then either. It is possible that you were able to connect to a 3rd Party's WiMax system if they were using EBS or BRS spectrum. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk

  12. There's a small update of upgraded sites posted to the maps. But no new LTE sites accepted this past week. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk

  16. It looks like it's not all of Southern Cali that gets screwed, but it does look like all of Orange County after all. And the SE corner of LA County. It might not all be because of the IBEZ. There may be another SMR license holder in the area too. Seems like I remember AJ mentioning this before. In the graphic below, you can see a map of the LA Metro market. The red sites will not receive any 800 MHZ service (CDMA or LTE). There are some areas here and there that will not get 800 for other reasons. But you can see all of SE LA County doesn't receive 800. That has to be either from the IBEZ or because of possibly another license holder in Orange County. Robert

  20. The best place to see Sprint site locations is S4GRU Sponsor maps. The Sprint site only shows sites that have had maintenance upgrades in the previous six months. Our maps show every Sprint site in the country. We also have maps that show every upgraded site too. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
  21. I went to a local site that has ground mount RRU's right against the fence to see if I can see any markings on the brackets that may give away info about the manufacturer or model number. But I did not see any markings. I'm sorry. Maybe someone else has info for you. Robert via LG Optimus G using Tapatalk
  22. Change the contribution settings from Passive to No Contribution. I leave mine in No Contribution and then just hit "Map Trip" and Start when I do want to contribute. Robert
